  1. Organizations have random drug testing policies in place for all coaches/ assistant coaches, right? Or does that fall under the USA Hockey umbrella? I recall seeing something on SafeSport when I was poking around about testing of athletes suspected of drug use, but my question is more along the lines of random testing for coaches, like a pre-employment drug test or random testing from time to time for some professions involved with public safety. Just curious.
  2. Nothing actually "disappears" is my point - people can think they are hiding and "removing" information, however, they are very mistaken "normal" people don't just suddenly request to have EVERY POST they've ever written "hidden" from public view and permanently leave a board on which they've been a regular contributor- unless they anticipate something like an inquiry coming down the pike and are looking to cover their tracks and want things gone the tracks are still there, however, and so is all the stuff..nothing disappears permanently in this digital age - it actually can be found by someone looking in the right places and sometimes trying to cover things up and trying to make them go away makes things worse so now back to hockey talk.....
  3. Makes me think of those movie scenes where the criminal is frantically trying to erase computer files and incriminating evidence as the Feds are closing in to him to confiscate the computer and electronic devices the criminal in those movies mistakenly thinks that the erased/deleted information can't be recovered, however I wonder what new screen name "The King" will reappear with on this board? And I wonder how long it will take for "The King" to reappear on this board under a new pseudonym?
  4. People who have something to hide remove old posts and "disappear". Quite telling.
  5. Thank you those who chose to provide possible pathways for me to consider. I asked for some guidance, and I got it. Thank you.
  6. @The King -thank you for your advice. I'm not trolling. There is some information that has been made aware to me regarding some potential wrongdoing and it's very messy with all the personal relationships involved. I'm simply not OK with letting it get swept under the rug anymore. I appreciate your time in responding.
  7. Question - I have a concern regarding a possible situation of wrongdoing on the part of a youth hockey coach at an organization where my son plays. I'm not getting into specifics on a public forum, I'm simply asking for some guidance in how to proceed. I have verbally expressed this concern to the Safe Sport coordinator for the rink, who I know on a personal level. I thought the Safe Sport coordinator now had an obligation to report this to USA hockey and open some sort of inquiry, but I was told I was mistaken by this Safe Sport coordinator and that he "didn't need to do anything". I'm aware that USA hockey has a form or forms that can be filled out regarding problems that I parent may suspect is occurring with a team or coaches, and that is my next step to take since the Safe Sport coordinator told me that he didn't need to do anything. However, since this Safe Sport coordinator is also friends with said coach, and also acts as an assistant coach for that coach, I suspect this gets a little messy. Please no bashing. I'm simply looking for advice on how to proceed - I'm obviously contacting USA hockey myself since I hit a brick wall with the Safe Sport coordinator. Words of advice? Thanks in advance.
  8. there are Gold PPE 09 players that didn't make gold again this year and some PPE black 09 players that didn't make black again this year. Has to be very tough to swallow. I know for me it would be, and I've had a lot more years on me of facing disappointments in life and learning to shake off the dust and move on than these young kids have had.
  9. I take it to mean that the kid is playing at a level too high for what he/she is capable of. There are some kids that clearly are on a much different level and a kid trying to compete at a level he/she is not ready for sticks out like a sore thumb. It isn't good for anyone- especially that child - but also for the teammates and the team as a whole. I imagine it frustrates a lot of parents too to have a kid on their child's team, especially with the amount of money that is being shelled out for some "elite" experiences.
