  1. So before on this thread it was all about the votes and Dems wouldn’t support 2787. Dems then voted for it in a bipartisan effort to get it passed. All facts. You then backpedaled - again by saying this bill wasn’t important Now you are “reading between the lines” while providing an article that doesn’t support your position of Democrat’s changing their position or votes. Reading between the lines? You are just a bore that keeps moving the goalposts.
  2. Where does it say a single Democrat changed their opinion or their vote? And didn’t you say on this thread that this bill wasn’t “thee” bill as it was all about 2832? And in the article you posted , I quote from it- “Already, some Democrats have joined Republicans in supporting measures to reverse some of the decisions the governor has made with emergency powers granted him through his COVID-19 disaster declaration.” Am I missing something or are you just stirring it up to get attention?
  3. Agreed. Only on this thread could bi-partisan support of this bill be passed off as “arm twisting“ and Democrats “promised to change their votes right now.” @Novos51 I am sure you have proof of that or some insider information to back such a claim? Politicians that don’t answer to their constituents get voted out of office.
  4. As a Democrat myself I must say it is his job to be versed on the differences between fields, stadiums, ice rinks etc. and I find his ignorance to hockey as unnaceptable. There is too much at stake here. That is why I commented earlier by saying when you write to your state congressmen and congresswomen, act as if they know nothing about the sport of hockey or the environment they play in because most of them don't. Do not assume anything and put it in simple terms for them to comprehend. If the Wolf quotes provided on this thread are true which I believe they are, he is clueless on the sport of hockey and we can't change anything unless we flood his and our reps email boxes, social media pages, etc.
  5. Well it looks like the Icemen U15-AAA team had a few tight ones over the past weekend in Cleveland. They went 5-0 with a combined score of 40-1 with four shutouts. The Rock City Steel Kings, a U16-AA team lost to the Icemen twice by a combined score of 27-0, which only proves teams are playing other teams they would not play under normal circumstances and those that can play games are scrambling just to play, especially with teams in OH. So lopsided wins may be more frequent moving forward. https://www.yetisicemen.com/schedule/team_instance/5458664?subseason=675374
  6. In doing some research these talking points below have been circulating amongst a group of friends of mine. They should be included on any correspondence you send to your legislators regarding #2832. We are dealing with people that have zero hockey sense nor perspective on rink size, player interaction, etc. so some points are common sense to us but will help getting those not connected to the sport to understand the challenges we face. *An ice hockey rink is 200- by 85-feet: that's 17,000 square feet of space just in the playing surface, with the overall averaging 25,000 Square feet. Most facilities with two sheets of ice are over 65,000 square feet! *Under current restrictions in PA, NJ and DE, other more riskier sports are able to fully resume, in much smaller buildings. *50 people in a rink means 500 square feet per person. This is WAY more than restaurants, gyms, entertainment facilities, tattoo parlors, and more. This is also way more space per person than all other sports. *The National Federation of State High School Associations classifies ice hockey as "Moderate Risk" along with basketball, volleyball, soccer, field hockey, girls lacrosse, and 7-on-7 football. *Hockey players never share equipment, do not touch the puck, and there is no skin-to-skin contact. *Research from Eastern Michigan University shows that during a typical hockey game player-to-player close proximity is limited to 3 seconds. *Exempt Team Personnel and Game Officials from the overall number of people allowed in an ice rink at once. Keep emailing your legislators regardless of political party. There is also a Facebook group entitled “# Let Them Play In PA” with over 20,000 that have joined. Keep the pressure on!!
  7. I repeat.......THREE DEMS CO-SPONSORED THE BILL. You keep saying only three support it, which is false. And you are standing by your quote that is also false. I proved it to be false. This shouldn’t be that hard. Just stop.
  8. Hey Benji - I guess I have to provide your actual quote now since it appears you forgot what you wrote - "let’s face it - the democrats side with wolf. That’s just the way politics are. 2838 goes completely against wolf, raises limits indoor based on capacity, not just 25..." I provided facts to dispute what you have said on this thread that no Dems will go against Wolfe nor support this bill. You said it, not me. I then provided specific Democratic congressmen that not only support it but co-sponsored it. I provided actual names and now, you backpedal and say you weren’t wrong? And you now ask what have I personally done, other than be part of a group that has swayed a state Senator and providing her actual response for all to read? Clearly you are still living in your sad vortex.
  9. Uh, no. Reread what I wrote. Three Dems co-sponsored 2832. More support it. This contradicts everything you have said about this being a partisan bill and that all Dems and I’m paraphrasing here, “side with Wolfe.” I have proven you wrong more than once. Are you just wasting my time on purpose or secretly hoping the bill doesn’t pass so you can take your victory lap and say “I told you so.” If I we’re a betting man I’d put my money here. A week from now you can address me as Carnac.
  10. Democratic party Reps. Mullert, Snyder and Kulik are co-sponsors of HR 2832. Democratic party Senator Williams has also expressed support for 2832. So much for Dems not supporting this bill. Is that the rebuttal you were looking for?
  11. You have been talking about Squirt teams since you started this nonsensical argument........ABOUT 9-10 YEAR OLDS. Other Vengeance teams ( U12, U14 ) are not double rostered on SCIR teams. Lobotomy please?
  12. Thanks Benji - listening to your daily babble and being in your vortex is too much for anyone to handle. And most importantly, don’t forget to continue to provide regular updates on which rinks your PPE kid is skating, who he’s skating with, how long his shifts were during scrimmages, etc.
  13. “Let’s face it - the Democrats side with Wolfe.” I just gave you an example of a Democrat that not only was on Wolfe’s side at the beginning but didn’t side with Wolfe when it mattered and voted against his position. What legislators have you reached out to? Whose opinion have you helped change and what have you done specifically to move the needle other that spew partisan bullshit on a hockey thread? if you put as much energy as you do in talking about your PPE kid’s illustrious career and reciting his resume on a daily basis but instead, did something to change things you might bring some value to this topic.
  14. You are still pissing and moaning about 9-10 year old hockey players? ?
  15. And why is that? Because she’s a Democrat? I've read lots of political bullshit on this and other threads and it’s getting old. I think everyone here wants the same thing, and the political commentary doesn’t help. I provided an example of someone that was initially against this bill and with the help of her constituents sending emails she changed her mind and voted yes. Now we can move on to 2832 Whom have you written to on any of the bills? What response did you or others get? Where’s yours or others update on what their lawmakers have done? The cynicism here is a joke.
  16. I wrote my State Senator, Democrat Lindsey Williams regarding Bill #2787 and received this response from her office today. She expressed reluctance in supporting this bill at first but I assume her office was inundated with emails in hoping she would reconsider and support the bill and clearly, she did and voted YES. Power to the people. Her response is below: In the past few weeks, many parents have emailed me about their children playing sports. Parents expressed concern about their kids missing an opportunity to play. As a former high school athlete myself, I understand. I know that sports are a valuable part of students' lives-- for their physical, mental, and social development. I also know that parents are worried about the health risks of exposing their families to COVID-19. Today, I voted in favor of HB 2787 in the Education Committee meeting in order to advance it to the full Senate for consideration. HB 2787 allows individual school districts to make decisions on school sports and other extracurricular activities. This was not an easy decision for me. Pennsylvania still lacks proper testing, contract tracing, and PPE. However, if the state is allowing individual districts to make their own decisions on reopening, it seems inconsistent to not allow them to make their own decisions on sports. I have been disappointed that the state’s guidance on sports has failed to fully address the differences in risks between different sports and the different types/sizes of indoor venues. I anticipate that the full Senate will vote on this bill next week. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Sincerely, Lindsey M. Williams 38th Senate District
  17. So if what you say is true, then former V players are supporting SCIR teams and not the other way around. And it appears the V organization is not rolling teams over every year and instead, is showing players not from the organization can make their teams based on what occurs at tryouts. Sounds OK to me. BTW, what SCIR level team is entirely made up of former V players?
  18. And I quote - "Yeah, like when a Renegades team rolls into a PAHL game with SCIR jerseys/shells/socks but all the kids have red helmets on. Pretty sure that red isn't in the SCIR color scheme. Is SCIR used as a fundraiser for the red helmet crew?" So what are you saying? Are you agreeing with the commenter that said V teams are being supported by SCIR players? Because if you are, that is a contradiction to what you said that SCIR teams have players wearing red helmets, meaning former V players are now on SCIR rosters. In reality, have players from other organizations displaced former V players based on say, that thing they call tryouts so that is why so many red helmets are now on SCIR teams? And isn't that the way it is supposed to be? And when you say "all" of the kids have red helmets on, do you mean 1,2,5 or all meaning a sea of red buckets?
  19. You don't know what you are talking about. V teams are littered with kids from other PAHL teams and this years teams include many PPE Black players that landed there after those teams were disbanded.
  20. I think teams are scheduling games with teams that can and are willing to play games more so than playing a tough schedule as many of the traditional top teams are on lock down.
  21. Hmm, I sense a Lil’ 66’er parent is bitter by not having games. I totally get it. How else can 7 year old Johnny get scouted? Maybe it’s time to uproot the family so he can chase HIS dream.......

  23. So westernjournal.com is your source for “facts?”
  24. I don’t know if this was posted before but this came from PIHL today addressing a modified format for JV/MS games. The outlook for Varsity looks bleak. https://assets.ngin.com/attachments/document/edba-2240900/PIHL_Modified_Game_Structure-2.pdf
