  1. I find it comical that your posts are 100% factual and everyone else's is not ( unless they agree with you of course ). You cannot handle anyone that has a differing opinion or experience from yours. Didn't you say hundreds of times on this site none of your kids participated in WPA hockey? If that is true, all of your so-called "facts" are simply opinions based on what others told you and not from actual experiences. You can disagree with whomever you want whenever you want, that is why this is called a forum. But when someone agrees with you, you ended up praising them. When they don't, you go on a rant saying the reason for their view is because their kid wasn't good enough and got cut in the process, all the while having zero information on that persons actual experience. And to assume I am ridiculing PPE Black players with my comment is ridiculous - again you are going on an assumption of something that isn't there. Exactly what did I say that ridiculed the players? Over the 13+ years my two boys played hockey in WPA I came across many parents with kids on Black teams that looked at people that played PAHL as a second class citizen. That is a known fact, not an opinion just from me. Care to guess why PPE Black teams stopped playing games against PAHL teams? Because of the coaches and parents, not the players. Losing to an organization that pays four times less in tuition and travel fees has a negative feel to it, don't you think? You feed yourself by looking for conflict that sometimes isn't there just so you can get a reaction and look in the mirror to gaze at yourself as the know-all about WPA hockey. Sorry to burst your bubble kid, but you don't. Carry on.
  2. Hundreds of parents with dreams of little Johnny going to the NHL getting crushed just like that.
  3. At this age, the worst thing you can do is turn your nose up to your son playing PAHL. With the right organization and right coaches, your son will develop both from a social and hockey acumen standpoint. There's lots of anabolic parents out there that feel their kid needs to wear the extra A, don't fall into that trap. Convenience, cost and extent of travel are also things you should really consider. Plenty of years ahead to consider AAA hockey as your son develops.
  4. Best freaking comment I’ve read in months. Well played.
  5. ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZ Wake me when you have something relevant to the topic to say.
  6. And I quote...... To your point, last year SCIR had two BY teams in AA U12. The second team should have been an A Major Black team but I assume egos with parents and coaches got in the way of reason and they were placed in AA.........they went 8-28-3. https://myhockeyrankings.com/team_info.php?y=2018&t=16939 What part of this post is untrue? Or are you one of the parents or coaches that was cool with an 8-28-3 record because of the extra A on your lapel? Facts suck sometimes but they remain facts.
  7. Great points, and I agree the marketing of this tournament has been lackluster at best. You would think there would have more said about it since the games are at UPMC, local teams are playing teams they haven't played before and the local hotels getting a boost in business with eastern teams making the trip. Seems more interesting than a Hockeytime event with all local teams. I know MHR is only a guide however for the U14 level PAHL is well represented with some of their top teams. Don't know much about Allegheny but who knows in a tournament like this. Thanks for the comments.
  8. For the upcoming AA East - West Challenge hosted by UPMC Feb. 7th - 9th, does anyone know how the western PA teams were selected? 16UAA - East teams with MHR# in the state - Philadelphia Genesis #1, Delco # 5, Lehigh Valley # 11 vs West teams Southpointe #6, North Pittsburgh #16 and Preds #19 14UAA - East teams with MHR# in the state - York #8, Blazers #9, Lehigh Valley #13 vs West teams Mt. Lebo #4, North Pittsburgh # 6, #27 Allegheny

  10. @RegDunlop7 makes a lot of good points that I won’t rehash here. Both of my boys played PAHL AA level with two organizations - Butler Valley and NP. Back then what was frustrating with BV was the practice schedule was a mess. It varied month by month and some practice start times were as late as 9:30pm. That’s late for a MS kid. At NP I liked that the practice schedule for weekdays was set for the entire season. And it didn’t vary month by month, so if the weekday practice slot was Tuesdays at 5:30, that never changed. It makes it easier to plan around a fixed schedule and carpool if needed. Plus, there were a decent amount of full ice practices.
  11. Clearly your reading comprehension skills are waning, kid. Now you are backtracking and deflecting which makes zero sense. Not unlike most of your posts with typical flame throwing and insults. Now you are saying my story was made up? OK, here are some clues because he told me personally. PPE kid since inception, played U18 PPE along with senior year of PIHL and now plays juniors. You've now called me a liar about something / someone you know nothing about. Instead of accepting it you go on your rant. Facts are ugly sometimes, but they remain facts. Let it go and move on.
  12. Where did I say the kid I referred to quit travel hockey as a senior? Thanks.
  13. In all fairness, you are speaking from a parent POV. The fact is many kids at this age play for one team ( and sometimes not by choice ), and that one team is their school team because of the social aspect of it. Let's be real here - how many of these kids will make a living playing hockey? Sure, if Parent A has an elite level kid and wants to shell out $15K to play PPE that is their choice. I know for a fact without naming names, of a kid that played PPE Gold since its inception. Great kid, fantastic hockey player that never played in PIHL until his senior year of high school. He told me the most fun he had ever had playing the game was when he played for his school.
  14. "Agreed, the Pens Elite second teams shouldn't be considered Tier I and are a huge money grab for that organization." True that. That is why they don't label the the second team as PPE Black anymore, it's now by the head coaches name. PPE - 2 ( or black ) teams are AA level hockey but their parents will tell you otherwise. They have the stickers on their car, the schwag and pretty gear bags to prove it. Last year numerous PAHL teams beat Black teams - how do you think those parents feel when they get beaten by a PAHL team that pays $5K - $9K less per season? And why do you think they steer clear of putting PAHL teams on their schedules? It's bad for business.
  15. Put any feelings aside you may have for Yuri as a coach, the guy runs a great summer camp. When both of my boys were playing each did the week-long camps for 3-4 years straight. He makes the kids work hard and is not shy at yelling at them if they are not fluffing off. If you are looking for a hockey centric camp without all of the extra stuff like game rooms or dorm rooms, I highly recommend it.
  16. Nobody is questioning your right to have an opinion. You have the right just everyone else. To put it simply, you don't have to be an abusive condescending jackass towards anyone that has an opinion different than yours. State your case and move on. Your problem is every time someone disagrees with you, you go personal and say they are pissed off and bitter because their kid got cut or cannot compete at a certain level when in fact, you know nothing about their kid nor their actual experience. I am not the only one stating this - many on this site have done the same, hence the reason for being banned multiple times and changing your user name. And I quote - "You don’t get to legislate someone’s beliefs." How about taking your own advice, biff? And last but not least, you intimidate nobody and the fact you think that you do adds more comedy to a thread that at one point was legit.
  17. Hey king, how much longer til you snap and get banned again? Should you really be the one coming here to preach about my criticism of others when in fact you have been banned from this site four times now and had to change your name each time to get back in? You are a walking flamethrower. See, guys like you are too easy and you can’t help yourself. So when it comes to “a pattern of hypocrisy,” that coming from you is what makes this so laughable. It’s in every single comment you make. How much longer until you snap once again and get a record fifth ban? Not long, just be true to yourself and all will come soon enough, just as I predicted. Don’t let me down, king.
  18. Digging into quotes from two months ago that have nothing to do with the topic? You are creepy, bro. And next time, have a point.
  19. Look who crawled out from under a rock - the "king" of being banned and having to change his name four + times.........And I quote - "the game is so dull and mediocre". Then why are you here? All you do is bring negativity to a civil discussion on the state of PIHL and you have to go Trump on everyone that has an opinion that is different from yours. How do you know the state of PIHL yourself? You have said multiple times on this site you were thankful your kids were never part of the cesspool that is western PA hockey.....then again you must be the genius know-it-all and everyone else is a dope. You should change your name to "Sir Cut N' Paste" because you recycle the same, old and tired comments. Can't you find a lacrosse thread to lend your genius takes? Chess, checkers, backgammon? Or relive your glory days by finding a Donkey Kong machine at the local Chuck E Cheese so you can really impress your friends. Clown.
  20. Got it thanks........now I will throw it out there. So what is Alpha's excuse? How does an org with 19 SCIR teams plus Vengeance get away with NOT HAVING IT?
  21. I agree, however the LiveBarn app runs much better than the website. For example, I watched a Pens Elite game at UPMC on the app and you can use the zoom feature, not sure you can do that from a desktop or laptop.
  22. Yep, I stand corrected on Delmont. It's been years since I have walked in the building and seen a game there.............thanks @powderfinger
  23. Just throwing it out there, some rinks in western PA are not hooked up with LiveBarn which amazes me when you look at the scope of youth hockey in this area. For those connected to these rinks, I am curious as to why they don't have it. And to those that have it, props. Alpha is the one that blows my mind. With the amount of teams that call Alpha home, WTH? Delmont, Mt. Lebo, Brady's Run, Cambria. Any others? And maybe with enough pressure or public outcry, things may change?

  25. "Or, something like if you go up 10 and you're the coach, don't be an asshole. Pretty simple." Quote of the year right there..........
