  1. Oh boy, should we start the putting the facts out and taking them down before we get sued ? ?? there was a time when PPE was also the evaluators. Admittitly, it’s been a few years since I’ve been to one of those, maybe it’s changed lately, maybe culver flipping out a few years back did something. PPE did control who moved out of Sylvania for years. There was big good D culver had at that special ppe BY that got completly screwed. Culver want nuts that year on usa hockey & mid am about ppe black kids being pushed through over this kid who was clearly the best player on the ice. he’s now in the ushl. This was the select 15 camp if i recall correctly.
  2. Correctted. Just recalled they won by one goal. I didn’t hear Ohio beat Chattam but that doesn’t surprise me at all.
  3. PPE has been controlling the mid am camp since they bought the hornets. There was a time when they pushed all their black team kids through to! But that’s not the exposure I’m talking about. as for the shaha kid - yes, his advisor got him drafted. If you don’t understand how they work or need one for your kid, I can give you a few contacts. Toss down 5-15k a year, they will get your kid drafted in some leauges, get you invited to some nahl and ushl main camps. They will open doors. Depends what you want to pay. Like i said, give me 5k I’ll get your kid drafted into the ncdc. It’s such a joke, Number #389 taken in a 12 team league lmao. If you payed attention to my original post, most kids playing in the ncdc were never drafted to that league. his “AAA” stats - I’ve seen esmark padded stats twice that. Means nothing. He played 15u at shaha, the top players for his age that will end up in leauges like the ushl played 16u. I’m sure he’s a nice player, in the end, he will end up at the same places 99% of the kids playing do.
  4. Your own words - AAA / TIER 1 is all about exposure. Yes, Exposure to real junior leagues. Unless you are playing for PPE or midget esmark, you are not getting very much if any exposure. Nobody that matters is scouting the predators, icemen etc. talk of a shaha kid getting drafted into the ncdc ? That’s so laughable. The advisor pulled the string. Give me 5k I’ll get your get drafted into the ncdc, I’m not even joking. fun fact - most the kids playing in the ncdc were never drafted into the leauge. It’s marketing. ever since the ncdc started I know around 12 local kids drafted into that leauge. None of them really ever played in it. A few saw a game here and there. Most got suckered into paying to play on the affiliate usphl premier team that funds the ncdc. “Next year he will be ready”, “did a great job a main camp just needs to get strong” pay your 15k. the list goes on. Half of the kids playing in the ncdc have bought their way in, it’s part of the reason no one really considers it tier 2. It’s a money making machine, the top players best outcome is nornally ncaa d3, another money making machine. Half these schools you wouldn’t want to send your kid to for an education. The other half are so expensive you would be stupid to pay it. But hey “my kid plays ncaa hockey!” Chattam NCAA D3 beats IUP CLUB team in OT ffs.
  5. This is somewhat wrong. Tier 3 juniors has ripped AAA midget apart. 16 & 18U midget is pretty diluted these days.
  6. Black bear would more than likely be good for that place, along with the programs that play out of it.
  7. Maybe I just follow hockey more, but we had a few years not long ago were tons of pros kept coming out about this sort of thing with junior coaches, billets etc.
  8. Couldn’t even watch the entire video. Awful. For whatever reason this has been going on in our sport more than others through out the years.
  9. Not really - one of the reasons myself & the other poster agreed to take down what we talked about publicly here last. That man has serious political pull and attorneys that’s would bleed us dry under a weeks time. David Morehouse was Bill Clinton’s campaign manager. This is when David met Ron Burkle who was at the time the single biggest donor to the democrat party. David was brought into the Penguins to use his political pull & put pressure on Governor Rendel to get the new arena secured.
  10. had you been around last night you would have seen the conversation (unless you did see it) Could make a movie about it - the pro team, ppe, favors, kick backs, pay offs, names ? you would have thought we were talking about congress! I really wish everyone could know, but I along with the other guy don’t have the money to deal with those high end attorneys. It would have happened. They would have more than likely came after this message board too. If you folks recall how fast the posts got taken down a few years back about some well known 2003 players that got busted smoking weed and bullying excel kids in the locker room. You know the one kid who’s committed to psu ? the other who’s dad was running things. That stuff was petty compared to what we talked about last night. Last night was all truth & proof how to pay off someone on the back side, use the pro team to get a kid into an ncaa d1 program that has no business ever making it there.
  11. Sorry for all the edited posts folks. It was best for this community if we want to keep the place around ?
  12. Before you edited this post you mentioned Clarkson university, not sure why you removed it. if you want a real dirty secret - Dartmouth! from the cba - How do Entry-Level Contracts Work? Players younger than 25 years of age as of September 15 during the year of their first NHL contract must sign an entry-level contract which have set limitations - all entry-level contracts are two-way contracts and the maximum allowable salary for players drafted until 2022 is $925,000. The length of the entry-level contract is also dependent on the player’s age: 18-21 years of age: 3 years 22-23 years of age: 2 years 24 years of age: 1 year
  13. Have to disagree, 66 bought out the hornets along with the am pens junior b & c club (rebranded afterward as the three rivers vengeance to what it is now with the usphl) sluggo had nothing to do with it. the guy that cut Austin at tryouts would not budge, regardless of all the pressure that was applied. So Mario pulled a hostel take over in a way. Certain people had to get bought out.
  14. The sad part - it’s all true. I could write a book about it! the really sad part - as I’ve said before, if your kid has the skill or as a parent, you feel they do - have to play at ppe to get noticed or move the kid out of town. The esmark Hail Mary at midget doesn’t even work as well as the nfl Hail Mary but it’s something I suppose if you don’t want to ship your kid off.
  15. Not sure why Cooley wouldn’t credit PPE. Family ties through the org. both of his brothers played there. Uncles coached ncaa hockey, cousins played ncaa hockey. I think it’s funny they are crediting the Crosby program - while I do think that program is great, it had nothing to with the kid getting into hockey. He comes from a hockey family. Maybe pens or the nhl ask him to push that pr. Marc Voit is past all the bs. Just chatted with him not long ago. He, along with his son have moved on. The first guy to expose publicly in front of everyone the money, excel politics etc. someone build a statue of this guy. They tried to threaten him with many things. Even banned him from going to games. morehouse always had it in for him, marc would help any kid get better. He ran a group skate for what it cost to rent ice right across the street, kids got better development from marc. PPE kids, Esmark kids. It didn’t matter. Marc wasn’t in it for the money. Morehouse didn’t like it, it stopped some families from spending money in house. the program will never go away. 66 started it because his son couldn’t make the hornets, so he bought them out and started ppe. Morehouse turned the program into a way to fund the pro practice rink while he pushed his kid through. So I have to ask, which executive is next in line ? I am assuming someone has girl since they are pushing woman’s youth hockey harder than ever. Funny but true story - when Matt Cullen left the pens in 2018 it had nothing to do with money, contracts etc. (he came back a year later) it was because they wouldn’t let his kids in the click, so he took them to Minnesota. Next time you are at the pro game and they do the 50/50 raffle, announce “thanks for helping raise money for local youth hockey”. ask yourself, what are they are really doing with that money ? 20-40k a game (their split) X 40 games. It’s going PPE to pay for salaries and pay for the pro’s stuff. It doesn’t goto youth hockey. Someone should audit them. as much as I enjoyed 66 as a player, not to mention he seemed like a good person - he started this mess for his kid. His kid wasn’t any good to begin with. Couldn’t make any real junior leagues (Mario tried to buy a USHL team, ended up going partners and it still didn’t work out for Austin) but yet he ended up at a start up NCAA D1 major program. He’s since quit. Talk about privilege. Moorehouse just ran with it. made it worse. You think it’s a coincidence he steps down from the pens now that his son is done ? The new ownership group wanted to keep him on. black bear is following the Morehouse format a bit. In the other cities where they own rinks, former pros and pro team executives have ownership in the rinks. Black Bear is a bit of pyramid system to get these types to invest. Curious the local connection for western pa. Black Bear bought a nahl team. If you look closely you’ll see the kids moving from team Maryland tier 1 youth (black bear owns this org) that have moved onto the nahl team have nhl ties. Some of these kids are garbage players.
  16. Marc Voit is a great example of the part I quoted from you.
  17. So I’ve seen both sides of PPE. When my 99 was playing, mr Morehouse didn’t commandeer the program yet. 66 did for his kid, he got cut from the hornets. The hornets kids that came over along with the new PPE kids - there was still good development, like any top program there was some politics but they were bearable. When my 99 was second year 16U, I believe is when Morehouse started taking control. At this point the entire purpose of the program was to fund the pro teams practice rink while developing Morehouse’s kid. As my 02 went through the system we watched quality players from the 02 & 03 birth year get screwed over. We watched a few kids - 15 year old 03’s get moved to 16U (voit who was the best of that 03 group from western pa in the program at this time ironically wasn’t good enough to be moved up) while the 02’s did the heavy lifting for that national championship. I guess I can say names at this point, these age groups are all 18 plus. Probably best I don’t - back on track - the top 02’s whom carried that team have all moved onto the ushl, ohl etc. they are all having success. the high end out of state 03’s all moved into real junior hockey after 16u. Bringing back memories here, forgot how much of a mess was started for that one kid who was drafted by every damn junior league, skated with Crosby all the time (Crosby even cut his sticks!) and still looked no different than any PAHL AA player even though he was playing with arguably some of the best 03’s from across North America. funny he stayed all the way through 18U never made a real junior team until this year, he is in the bchl - the Canadian version of nahl. I don’t even want to continue on here with this, but the short - we were witness of the transformation to what the program has now become. but I’ll still stick with this statement, because it’s true - if your kid has the talent and you think he has a shot at real junior hockey the player needs to be at PPE, if not toss a Hail Mary to esmark at the midget ages or move the player out of state. It’s unfortunate but it’s the facts. Prime example is the 03 we have been referencing in this thread earlier.
  18. Never got noticed until he went to esmark at 18U. When the pens dumped him he played up a birth year for two years at one of of the awful western pa faux aaa clubs. stuck around with them for a few years due to friends along with a special price. Yuri was after him all those wasted years, finally at 17 years old the kid realized he had to get off the faux team, leave his buddies behind. Played one year at esmark (his minor 18U year) made the naphl all star team, lead esmark in scoring. He was by far the best player on the team. After his first season with esmark he was tendered, drafted etc and out of western pa. This past season - his major 18U year, Esmark still rostered him but he never played for them. If he would have played either season on PPE 18U teams he would have been the best player there too!
  19. The NAHL is getting pretty political due to advisors. That NAHL for whatever reason is somewhat controlled by advisors the last few years, more than any other real junior league.
  20. the current junior leauge he’s in - he’s averaging a point per game on one of the worse teams in the league, I’m pretty sure that puts him as one of the top players and he’s only 18 years old. He has to make it out of that league this year as a 19 year old and back to the nahl to have a chance. He’s pretty much passed the ushl age. Unfortunately the nahl has a lot of politics these days, especially Johnstown. FFS the player we are speaking of didn’t make Johnstown but a mediocre slow player who joined pitt’s acha team mid season(one of the dads I referenced in that thread) made Johnstown. Scratch your head at that one! But half way through the season dad’s money and political pull couldn’t keep the kid there, he was cut and joined pitt.
  21. The ushl is a younger league. Those kids are out of there - in d1 before 20. Top players that start are 17-18. if this kid came from money, parents had the connections I have no doubt he would have been in the ushl at a young age. He would have been drafted at some point last year in the nhl. He is a better player currently than voit plus has more speed & size (I’m a big marc & Ty voit fan so that’s saying a lot) ty is better in his own zone. Morehouse used this kid to carry the ppe 03 BY until he could start drawing on the some of the best prospects in NA to put around his own kid. Once he got his plan in place, players to come in and excel money flowing they dumped the kid. I’ll ad, this kid we are talking about is very grounded. Never flaunted how good he was. He would play with anyone regardless of skill level. he would play on tournament teams in the summer regardless if it was a major, aa or aaa. If the team wasn’t very skilled he would score just enough for them to win and then spend the rest of his ice time setting kids up.
