Unfortunately, the players would have all quit if they had to continue playing for the old coach.
We were left with very little choices on who to pick. Nobody was really lining up to coach this team or be involved in the league in its first year. Can’t blame anyone for that.
Only choice we had was a players father.Like I said. The league continued to look like a joke and guys were embarrassed to be a part of a league who continued to have games cancelled and teams drop out. What’s the point of playing these games when nobody bothered to send a decent squad to us.
then maybe first off should not have fired the first coach, and once that happened. Pgh should have just folded then.

Team folded due to player issues. Guys no longer wanted to play road games. The schedule was terrible. Guys no longer wanted to keep the commitment they signed up for. Etc.
Players paid $350 total for the season. That covered jerseys, practice slots, our travel, and hotels.
Players received $500 for every sponsor sold
The last coach was fired due to the players no longer wanting to play for him. Had nothing to do with the owner.
sounds like the player didn't care for the daddy coach either if the team folded due to player commitment ONLY

The whole point about the Preds AA PAHL team being unquestionably better than their AAA team speaks volumes about their program as a whole. Not to mention that it indicates that the players and family’s “in the know” understand the price points and how the return on investment (or lack thereof) is a vacuum of spent money for nothing of significance in return.
When the 18U AA team is receiving consideration and attention from higher level scouts, but their AAA team is not…well, there’s that “situation” and whatever label we would want to call it.
higher level scouts for u18aa team? lol this isn't Chicago. highest level even looking would be a pay to play........

Didn't this guy just have a formal arraignment?? What happened? I heard there was barely 200 people if that at their last game.
no idea but judging by the YouTube feed I would say lucky to have 100 even

that coach is a liar and not a good human being. Parents let their kids play for him the are not good parent. He calls kids names that their worst enemies wouldn’t call them. Basically a bully to kids. Parents are afraid to say anything cause he guarantees he is going to get them to juniors. That guy shouldn’t be aloud to coach. Ask all the refs and other teams. That guy is destroying Esmark’s rep. While you have yuri which is an awesome coach and really knows hockey. If you pay for privates with that coach you will play. It’s a business. Also tells lies that Esmark 2011 has #1 forward in pa. Already getting recruited for college at 12. Also smokes vapes on benches. Quits on kids like a baby. Not a man at all.
which coach is this?

One thing is clear, Alex Thomas was correct choice for player of year. The other 5 are debatable.
I think less weight needs to be given to assists. If you are at all familiar with high school hockey then I don't need to explain why.
na Jake is a heck of a player himself.. the CV and SF onees though for sure deff shouldn't be on but is what is

Read between the lines people. Jaison Kelly has to be the worst human that resides in Pittsburgh. He’s a con artist and a flat out loser . A fuckup. Until his hands are still on this River Monsters, I’m staying away. Praying he goes to jail on his arraignment that’s in April for fraud.
the whole league is a joke tbh.... how many name changes this season alone. 3 already....

Now that midams are over, any surprises? Looks like pens crushed it at every level except 18U where Culver won. How about Tier 2?
we all know they will get the at large bid like they always do then get tail handed to them at natty like normal

Wow, who does that? That's the kind of thing PAHL discipline rep should be looking at! The Dad should never be allowed near the clock again! Even if the Preds egged him on he needs to remain neutral! Again that's part of why you hear about the homers at Belmont all the time. Probably most peoples least favorite place to play! But they do have good U18 & U16AA teams! So that probably adds to the frustration when you get beat at Belmont.
they did win it all at ice castle,Armstrong out coached and outplayed lebo and every team there.

I think that there’s two different understanding of the title “MidAms” on this thread. One is the MidAm tournament that leads directly into Nationals. Tier 1 and Tier 2.
The other is individual tryouts for MidAms that lead to the National Developmental Team.
While scrolling through this thread it’s challenging to follow along. Different interpretations by a lot of people.
With that said. Armstrong 18U AA wins today against Mt Lebanon 18U AA 5-2 (empty net goal) to move on to nationals. The competition at by all of the representative PAHL teams was outstanding, in my opinion. This season was one of the best in terms of competitive balance by the top 5-6 teams in AA as I can recall. It’s a shame that only one PAHL team gets to go on to nationals. This league was probably as deep as its ever been.
Best of luck to the PAHL 18U AA Champions— Armstrong Arrows as they move on to USA Nationals in Delmont, PA.
armstrong was the best all season, Lee has them playing hard nosed physical hockey and these boys have skills too.

Anybody know the details?

well aren't you just a ray of sunshine.
I did some research : The Colonials got off to their best start in program history in 2021 at 11-3 and saw themselves ranked within the USCHO Top 20 for much of the season, reaching a program-best #17 in January. At 15-9 overall and 10-5-0 in AHA play, the Colonials earned a West Division title while boasting the AHA Coach of the Year as well as conference MVP, Rookie of the Year, and Defenseman of the Year. The top offensive team in AHA and one of the most prolific in all of college hockey, RMU's 85 goals was one of the highest totals in all of NCAA DI, and their 25% success rate on the power-play was tops in the conference. - this happens to be the SAME year the program was ended by the President.
Schooley's team has reached four AHA title games and raised three championship banners since the start of the decade. After making the program's first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament via an AHA postseason title in 2013-14, the Colonials ruled the league during the grueling regular season in 2014-15 and 2015-16, winning 24 games in each of those years.
Additionally - several players from RMU have gone on to play professional hockey on some level.
Then let's talk about the women's program - 4 women played in the Olympics - 2 earning medals. 3 banners for winning CHA and several women drafted into Professional Women's hockey.
maybe get back to what the had before before asking for new rink on campus.....MAYBE ask the donors for the money to build it, oh wait they don't have many bc its a last resort d1 school to play at...they are barely half full for games now and wanna new rink.... laughable. student busses could take kids down to rmu IF there was big enough interest. Just no interest. the Penguin cup finals get more fans then rmu d1. NOT to mention again that they also just redid their locker rooms again from donor money too.

Being on campus is a huge recruiting tool for the teams, as well as having a "state of the art facility". If you go to PSU, ND, Denver, even Niagara University their facilities and RMU's are not even in the same class. RMU is dramatically behind when it comes to where they are playing.
As far as what will happen to the the current complex when the on-campus facility opens... Even if the Island Complex is currently profitable, I would wonder if the cost to staff and maintain two separate facilities would force a sale to Black Bear (or another group).
rmu will NEVER be on the same level at PSU, MD,DENVER or NU....its a last effort school for kids to play D1 hockey. Heck top ncaa d3 teams would beat up emu pretty good. either stay at island sports or fold for GOOD!!!
