  1. Well I do have to admit I don't want to spend 4000 dollars + travel to spend 8 months with a bunch of loud jack******. It makes the entire experience miserable and I'd rather my kid have fun and the parents have fun too.
  2. Agreed. Need to figure out a host org and a coach. I think pens, one North hills and one south Hills team would be fine. Same with 08s.
  3. Hard question because it also depends on if any other 08s show up that would knock them out of spots. Maybe this is where the Esmark team gets their 09s
  4. From what I gather you have hit on the problem though in all seriousness for getting all the kids on one team. Preds and Esmark are seen as money grabs. Preds you get a lot of dad coach involvement and not just from one person there are at least two or three way too involved dads. Esmark is an insane drive for South Hills families because they practice at New Kensington. Shaha coach seems insane (and a dad). For a long time Shaha really seemed to have a good thing going until their oldest two birth years fell apart. I'm honestly glad my kid isn't an 09 because it seems like a mess. I don't really know much about Vengeance but that's a drive too and I'm not sure an upgrade over any of those teams (looks like Preds finished above them and shaha close).
  5. I guess that begs the question who is a good coach for them?
  6. I believe the pred kids who left are talking about returning as well. It's silly season have to see how it plays out.
  7. Agree here by the first year midget things are much more even than in previous years. It's not perfect but 08s and 07s could be very competitive in most situations this year.
  8. Shaha and icemen played each other several times. Kudos to them btw.
  9. I would Argue with you here that they got beat by another independent team but it looks like they lost to the steel City ice renegades.
  10. Now that midams are over, any surprises? Looks like pens crushed it at every level except 18U where Culver won. How about Tier 2?
  11. Honestly to me that's a very successful season.
  12. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/new-jersey-school-district-exploring-legal-action-controversial-basketball-game-decision.amp Relevant to this conversation. I can see a time in the near future where parents start sending in homemade videos to justify stat changes or game changes - who is going to review all that and is that what we really want to make amateur sports?
  13. They do give the awards out but no one checks the scoresheets it's on the coaches/managers. Also that's a USA hockey award not PAHL
  14. Totally agree with this comment. And stats do matter and I am in favor of publishing them. At the same time your kid being shorted on 3 secondary assists (and probably accidentally been given one for something they had nothing to do with) isn't changing their trajectory. Grow up.
  15. Yes that is a big difference. Neutral scorekeepers and adult refs.
  16. I'm hoping this was a typo and you meant were not changed. I can't imagine having every game in an amateur league have stats challengeable what a nightmare.
  17. Yeah I don't know if it has changed but the order of standings on the site did not match because I don't think it takes into consideration tie breakers.
  18. Brackets are posted on the PIHL website now.
  19. Looks like a second year squirt judging by the smile.
  20. Did he reveal enough about himself from the posts to be identified?
  21. I'm just curious if they will keep the old sheets open when they switch. Don't want to lose ice locally.
  22. You know the preds should submit a correction? Also the teams that beat them could submit those scores? All of this is pretty easily fixable.
