  1. yea, and honestly i understand that (let’s say) the NHL punishes the team (Caps and the bracelets or the Wings with octopi at one point) but these are kids. some are seniors that may never play competitively after this season. it wasn’t the teams fault and honestly as much as i hate that i can’t go to any more games especially since i decided to not play varsity this year but it’s the safe call.
  2. whoa would you look at that, the football players that were ringleaders get to play their playoff game tomorrow yet the club hockey team that isn’t funded by the school has to pay for repercussions for those players. cool.
  3. you really didn’t give it much time. people are being suspended from school and we can’t have a students at any middle/high school game for the rest of the year and siblings have to be sitting with a parents.
  4. i’ve said the same thing. 4 goals against the goalie AFTER the derogatory chants started. it was “heifer” not hooker and “heifer king” not “suck my dick” but doesn’t matter after the whore chant.
  5. it’s very different on the ice. in the first and third the players could hear it when lined up for the face off in the offensive zone, but from the bench it was across the rink and players were focused on other things and the same thing goes for when they are playing, as a hockey player we tend to tune out the crowd and it’s something that ends up being learned as you play longer.
  6. i reached out to her on instagram if you would like to pass the information on. i feel horrible that this happened and i’m trying to make it right as someone who did not participate in the derogatory chants. hope you guys played well at the game tonight.
  7. it’s on the news, olympians have spoke about it. let’s hold off on further spread until there is proper disciplinary action and local identification.
  8. i’ve reached out to various higher-ups about this topic. i’ll do what i feel is necessary for this matter and what i feel will help.
  9. as someone who was at that game, and also wishes to stay unknown despite not joining the derogatory and unsportsmanlike chants, i can confirm it was not the entire student section. there was a select few who would start it and few that would join but at LEAST 60% of the people or students in that corner were not participating in the sexist remarks and rightfully believe they do not deserve to be in the game nor expected them when we walked in that door. i can speak on behalf of the majority that were silent during these moments and say we are very embarrassed and cannot believe it got that far, i myself even attempted to message the goalie on instagram apologizing for those who were audible. we deserve to be punished and the referees reprimanded in some sort, but i do ask to understand that most of us, ESPECIALLY those who play hockey away from the team on the ice, recognized that it was ridiculous.
