Limitless Posted September 5 Posted September 5 How are teams looking? Anyone see any surprises? Any upsets? Which teams look the best? Why'd they get rid of the St. Margarets name?

RMU Alum Posted September 7 Posted September 7 NA went 0-3 and got blown out by Butler who plays a division down. New coach Glock having issues early. Not only on the ice.

AAAAleaguestarter Posted September 7 Posted September 7 After all the bs over the last few years of teams getting in trouble playing ineligible players or roster issues do you not have your ducks in a row or house in order. it’s like every season now a team gets in trouble with ineligible players. 1
aaaahockey Posted September 8 Posted September 8 St Margaret is not a great way to evaluate teams. Some teams have kids with other conflicts (football etc). Some teams don't play their starting lineups to try out new players and see what they want the lines and lineups to be in the regular season. Some teams roll lines. Some teams go all out and want to push their team to the limit to see how good they are. All these differing factors make it really hard to judge the quality of a team based on this tourney alone. 1 1

Pretty sure no one is close to Senaca. Lebo and South Fayette apparently don't have their best players playing this year. Other teams aren't strong in net. After Senaca, the next best team, Hempfield, isn't' even in AAA. But things could change because some PPE kids are playing for North. Does that mean that some of the kids not playing for their school could join their team?

I had heard the players on the PPE 18U team that are also on North Catholic's varsity roster are "practice squad" players for Pens.

While I agree that Seneca is far and away favorite in AAA, I don't see Hempfield being a top AA team. They might be in the mix but not a favorite by any means.

Cathedral Prep had 75 seniors last year. Maybe Armstrong? They have a couple of good kids. But they take so many penalties.

I just don't see them being in a situation where they dominate the division like SV will in AAA.

I did notice a Mars player that appears to have a suspension to serve leftover from last year, and he played. Unless they have to serve it in the regular season?

Lebo lost a couple players but kept 2 of their three best (best defenseman after graduation and top scoring forward). South Fayette goalie is an absolute stud so I would never count them out.

Struggling to find a team that can compete with Hempfield. 1
