April 8Apr 8 Has anyone heard any news coming out of the "AAA" tryouts that just finished at the beginning of the week? I heard a rumor that SHAHA did not get enough of a turnout and will NOT be fielding an 18U AAA team this season.
April 8Apr 8 I heard that and heard the preds kids did not have a mass exodus to Pens at the 18u level as some predicted. I think kids want to play high school. PAHockey will be happy.

While I don't think that Preds outright says you cannot play HS, I'm pretty sure that a number of their players are asked to/choose to regularly miss HS games/practices to focus on the Preds team. Those player's priority is going to be Preds and not PIHL.
April 13Apr 13 The Preds finally announcing a new 18u coach probably helped with kids staying this year
April 13Apr 13 PHA Icemen u18 AAA holding a session this Wednesday night for open skate/Tryouts. See website for details and sign up on the player interest form to get on email list/register. Just passing along info to those looking for a home for Tier 1. U18 AAA SHAHA had tryouts and sent out tryout results but within a few hours folded due to many players accepting at Stars, and Pens and Preds AAA programs. Vengeance U18 AAA tryouts then got canceled before tryouts started the same day and folded the program.
April 13Apr 13 I initially heard that esmark was not going to field u18 this year, but that could have changed once shaha and vengeance fell apart. Have to think a lot of the esmark guys went to preds with the coaching change.
April 15Apr 15 The rumor you heard about Esmark U18 couldn’t be further from the truth. They were always going to field a team. Some kids from SHAHA and Preds made the move to Stars for a variety of reasons. Since most of the 09 Preds stayed, Preds only picked up a few kids including someone coming back to Pittsburgh after being gone last year. Vengeance u18 hadn’t even announced a coach prior to tryouts - think that was a wish and a prayer to see if they could field a team.
April 15Apr 15 Are the Allegheny and vengeance 09s staying together for 18u? They both were very competitive
