ATC Scholastic Development Hockey League

ATC Scholastic League returns for 2021-2022 season. We have added Junior Varsity this year. 

MISSION FOR THE LEAGUE:

ATC’s Scholastic Leagues will support team and player development for local scholastic programs. The mission is to promote sportsmanship and competition while playing in a scholastic hockey environment. It is a great way to not only develop the players and the teams but also foster an atmosphere of school pride.

 

FEATURES & HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Junior Varsity Division

  • Middle School Division - Grades 6-8 (14U)

  • Elementary School Division - Grades 2-5 (12U)

  • Eligibility is based on school district of residence

  • Current Co-op teams are welcome and new co-ops may be formed with the approval of the league commissioner

  • Games are three 13 minute periods

  • 15 games Plus Playoffs

  • Competitive balance is paramount to player development – if there is a need to determine team placement, a placement game may be required

  • Playoff Champion and Runner Up Awards

  • Scorekeepers for all games

  • Certified Referees for all games

  • No Checking in 12U and 14U divisions

  • Playing rules will be those used by USA hockey

  • League Commissioner

 

SEASON SCHEDULE:

  • October – Mid-March

  • Game days – Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday evenings.

  • Existing practice schedules for teams will be considered when creating the game schedule

  • League Playoffs in early to Mid-March

  • Team roster, schedules and stats will be posted on ATC website

  • All major tournament weekends for amateur hockey will be bye weeks

 

COST AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE:

  • Elementary and Middle School Divisions Season fee is $5500

  • Junior Varsity Division Season fee is $7100

  • $1500 due upon registration

  • Registration deadline is September 21st

@RJUSHL: competition was solid this season. Even the top teams were defeated during league play (nobody ran the table), and the battle for the upper half playoff bracket was down to the last game. 
 

@nemesis8679: was only 15 games this season and I thought I heard it was 20 last season as well. Would have been nice to have a few extra games but the 14U div had 8 teams so a home and away vs each team so the ideal number would have been 21 or 14… could be something that floats each year, assuming they adjust costs to match the game amounts. It’s kinda hard to get schools to commit though without knowing exactly how many games they are getting and how much they are paying. Could be just planned for 2-3 games between teams and a preseason fee range to be cemented as the league registrations are finalized.
