You have no facts Chatty Cathy. If you actually did you wouldn’t be hiding on a message board or whispering quietly at the rink with “someone on the team”. The kid(s) left your team. Get over it. Your kid gave up on the dream you had for him. Get over it. You aren’t the great coach you thought when the kids were younger. Get over it. Now go back and salvage what you can at home. Your obsession will be to the benefit of whoever ends up living in your house after the divorce.

What??? My son plays multiple sports and never focused on hockey. Neither of us had hockey dreams.  I’ve never coached hockey in my life and I’m not sure who you think I am.

You don’t need free publicity. That #132 out of #141 ranking will pull kids from the tri state area. Ahhahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  2. Jumping teams? It is normal for some kids move from AAA to AA when they get older. You know they have AP classes, jobs, girlfriends and things going on. My son earned all his accolades in his own. He hates the spotlight and could care less about anyone telling him about his skill level. Keep being sad about spending 20k this year to be embarrassed over and over.

You do actullay need people like me in the hockey scene. That way when you lie and convince yourself that it’s not that bad. I jump in and remind you it’s worse than you originally thought. Good luck in the NHL.

You are so delusional. I’m getting my information straight from PARENTS WHO CURRENTLY HAVE KIDS ON THE TEAM. Parents who were promised one thing and given another. The parents who are not complaining are just glad their kid isn’t on a team 5 in PAHL. Nobody is obsessing over this nonsense. I’m simply stating the facts. The rankings do not lie...Their talent level is not AAA and the organization is ran poorly and unethically at the upper levels. I don’t know what goes on below U16.

BTW- my son has never been cut from a team in his life. He’s never played nor tried out for the Vengeance either. We have played them and dismantled them with several different organizations. I would love to play them this year but somehow they are not USA hockey affiliated.

If your kid lives in this area and does not play for Pens- Esmark- Preds AAA.  They are not AAA- should not identify as AAA and lastly should not be playing any real AAA teams facts!

Please tell me how this is benefitting the kids? I’ll be waiting and you have all the time in the world since your games were cancelled this weekend.

Wait I want to add Shady Side Academy as another high level team who I would say qualify as AAA.

BHD, while your post raises some interesting talking points it also provides a lot of inaccurate information and also undermines it's own credibility while rambling incoherently. For instance, being ranked that low is not good but it's not like they haven't won any games like some local teams of the past few years. The blowouts by Gilmour (notice the correct spelling) are pretty bad but this next part of your post makes zero sense.

What the hell does this mean?

Undermining credilbility again. Gilmour Academy is almost exactly 2 hours away.  Amherst and the Regals? Pretty comparable competition and what 3-3.5 hours away? Wayne, NJ is 6 hours.

Is the coach an insurance agent or what does this mean?

You have some valid points but your approach needs refined.

Sorry - that was my fault. I merged two posts into one and cut some info out on accident.

    1)  I was going to say If my sons team lost to anyone by that Margain (even the Pens) I would make him quit hockey. That’s a joke and they shouldn’t be playing this schedule.

    2) Their travel schedule is horrendous and parents already complaining about back to back weekends in Jersey- Boston- Connecticut! Why do all this crazy travel when you can play in Pittsburgh.  Why did their home games get axed this upcoming weekend? Nobody wants to travel here to play a team ranked at the bottom.

    3) Why are they not a part of USA hockey?? USA hockey provides insurance and other things to teams. So who is insuring this team? Why not be a part of USA hockey. My thought is that they are paying it to a friend or someone to benefit from all that money. Or it could be an excuse to avoid playing local teams. Several AA Pahl teams tried to set up games but they can’t because of USA hockey.

I’m a realist! Look at the roster, ranking, travel, and fees for this team. Then please come back and tell me if it’s joke or not! Also take a look at the teams they beat.

The poaching committeed kids not an issue?

Also if anyone of the kids or parents on that team say they enjoy this season-they belong in A major black and just happy to say my kid is a AAA player.

  6. Okay- so after getting some games into myhockey, it is safe to assume we were all correct... This organization held multiple tryouts and still had to go from organization to organization taking kids who already committed to teams.  Kids who declined the offer were still contacted multiple time to play “AAA” and be “a junior call up”! This is the most classless thing I’ve ever withnessed from a coach and organization. You really should be ashamed with all of your false promises!

The Vengeance are ranked #132 out of #141 at Tier 1 U18- oh and that’s without adding in the 2 games that they played Gilmore and were outscored 25-3. You read that right, outscored 25-3 in 2 games. I don’t think the Pittsburgh Penguins could outscore his team by that margin. I’m talking about the NHL team and not the elite if you are wondering.

You are forcing the parents to travel all over the country when you could have been PAHL A major black or maybe PAHL AA. The Vengeance would be ranked #55 in tier 2.

You can’t blame 17 or 18 year old kids who are told and promised AAA and Juniors. However, the coaches knew how bad this was going to be from the jump. I hope the head coach personally apologizes to the parents he raked for a ton of money, the kids who wasted an entire year of eligibility, and the other coaches whom you have taken players rostered on another team. We can debate on here but unfortunately can’t play because from my understanding you turned other PAHL teams down because you are not USA Hockey affiliated?? Was this intentional so you don’t have to explain why AAA Johnny got annihilated but AA Jimmy? Maybe you are just rerouting the money for insurance to a friend.

I’ve witnessed people being sentenced 10-20 for lesser crimes then you are committing as a coach and organization.

Can someone please tell me why it is a good thing to be able to split AA in half, talent wise? Those first year birth year teams should not be in AA unless they can hang with the talent in AA. I had the pleasure of listening to the coach of one of those teams just scream at the kids after they lost to another team of mostly older players. There is a huge difference in a year of development sometimes. I thought, gee, how fun for those kids to lose all their games and then have their coach railing on them for something that they can't control, when they could have had a competitive year in a Division below or a mixed birth year. In years past, but for their birth tear designation, a first year wouldn't have played AA that year, or would have done it on a team of mostly second years. I just don't understand this fascination with birth year. And how good is it for the older kids to play those younger birth year teams? Just don't get it. Add in the talent suck of the PPE and all  these independents, and PAHL AA has just been an uneven, watered down mess at some age groups the last few years. What does AA even mean now?

We have always played on AA minor birth year teams that competed and made the playoffs. It’s important for those teams to stick together and play minor and major AA separately to compete for Nationals.

Aren’t the North Hills teams the AA Vipers Stars?

How many players & goalies were on the 16u VS team before it disbanded?

Why did the team disband?  They marketed the crap out of that team at the PIA rink.

There are zero kids on the Vipers U16 or U18 that played for the U16 team from last year.

  9. The U18 is made up of 02’s - Mt Lebo AA kids from last years U16 team that maybe won 1 game, and a few poached kids that were promised to play on the jr team. The organization is a joke- the coach is a joke and they couldn’t beat the top 4-5 U18 AA Pahl teams. Last years U16 team got destroyed by Armstrong and the Vipers. What an embarrassment to Pittsburgh hockey and those poor parents paying big bucks following false promises! AAA 4 life!
