I have watched them play many of times over the past couple of seasons. Not much of a game. There are 2-1 games that you never really had a doubt in who was winning. Stats are a big part of it when that is all you see and hear the parents from that team talk/brag about.

I will take you up on that beer. ?

well then you obviously saw when up 2 goals they went to a 1-2-2 and worked on the trap all season in pahl games to prepare for the midams. im the one who kept the stats. not sure anyone other than the coaching staff saw them. you are reaching, again for some point that you have zero vested interest in. I wish I had the time to devalue other teams and coaches in this manner. wow

Not bashing the kids at all, I have said for awhile how good they are. Just wish they would challenge themselves more than just at the end of the season. Looking at his wife I don't think that he would "waller" my wife, lol. To each their own my man, glad your kid enjoyed playing for him, just said that my kid wouldn't.

Ever want to meet up for a beer just let me know, you seem like a real hockey guru. by your comments all you do is look at stats and did not watch many games.

when has that badger team played games in New Jersey? Looks like they’ve made many trips to Michigan tho…. Every team does these skates. i was at an esmark one last night. again not sure what your bone to pick is

I don't care what they did two years ago or in mite.  The topic was about the Badgers  moving independent next year.

I think it is dumb to have a pile of independent teams that travel all over the country and don't play each other.  Again go off of the 7 of the 20 games they played that I listed.  I think the may have played South point Close on a game or two as well.   Close good competition.  No one cares about the blow out numbers the playing against the bottom three or four teams.  They would be gone.  You have 7 teams that could all compete closely in 07 PAHL AA.  Again it would be SHAHA, Badgers, Foxes, Vengeance, Icemen, Huskies, Preds and then yes the last one would struggle.

I guess the Foxes and Allegheny should definitely go independent also and then we will have 5 independent AA teams and two AAA teams in western Pa.  Wait I mean 7 AAA teams in western Pa.

We can all sit in front of our computers and post what the divisions and groupings should be, but it hasn’t and wont happen in PAHL. so why rehash it every season at every age? Unless you’re in the parent/coaches meetings or organization meetings where these things are determined what does it matter? Why no mention of shaha going independent and being ranked below that badger team still. I guess they get a free pass?

I guess the 2007 Foxes, Huskies, and Preds should go independent with Allegheny.  Then we will have the  07 SHAHA, Allegheny, Vengeance, Foxes, Icemen , Huskies , and Preds all independent.  They can travel all over the country and never play each other because obviously they are all to good to play in a league together and are now AAA.  Makes sense.  That's the Pittsburgh hockey way!

show us on the doll where the badgers hurt you

Im Not saying hockey is in a downward spiral, what I am saying is mr rankings homers his own school as much as possible. What I am saying is a lot of the teams in AA appear to be the in the rebuild wave that plagues A & AA Every few years. Those schools just don’t have the enrollment to have a steady flow of good varsity players year after year. Just look at the standings, stats, games etc. it shows you TJ is by far the best team, then you have a group with armstrong, penn trafford & Franklin. After that it doesn’t look very good at all.

What’s the point of having western PA top 5 varsity rankings ?  Especially when they are not from any sort of official source. Half the teams in each class make the playoffs. It’s meaningless. It’s not used for any sort of scheduling, it’s not used for any placements or playoff seeds. Unless you read this board, nobody is even aware.

I despise the day I am this old and miserable in life.

Is that a PIHL or MidAm policy?  In the Atlantic district, we can't issue any penalties for spectator behavior.  We eject them, stop the game until they leave, and have the team(s) identify the person.  Can does not resume until all that happens.  Then all the information is added to a supplemental game report.  It is up to the league and district to take further action.

The ICSHL has security at games here.  They handle any crowd issues.  We really don't get involved.

As for the Mars coaches pulling their team... that's a big no-no.  It is a match penalty for refusal to start play.

Not sure what I would have done if I was working that game.  But I will say that the league and district would not let it happen again.

Imagine if that was your daughter out there? Screw that match penalty!

My initial reaction to the automatic offsides change is positive.

Anything that forces possession and control of the puck at all costs is a good thing. With this new rule kids are going to have to make quicker decisions, be more deceptive with the puck, and maintain possession by passing.

In youth hockey there is so much play along the boards and so much dumping and chasing. It’s borderline gross to watch. I think this change could help unleash and develop skill with our kids.

But this change certainly goes against the old school “dump and chase” and parents and coaches screaming “use the boards” mentality.

Do you want old school hockey or do you want to develop puck skills? That’s what this comes down to.

Is that what you have seen so far this year? I have seen many many AAA games and have seen no change. Other than more games ending at a curfew. Much like the no icing rule, they hoped for one result and it has not helped the game or players one bit in my opinion. Why not have set rules thr  the youth hockey ranks? Let the kids learn the complete game earlier and progress. Makes no sense to me.

I don't think many kids can do it unless the top birth year is weak.  At best one or two kids can do it in an organization.  SHAHA 07 played up.  They had a more competitive year than 07 Badgers who ran the table and won both banners.

People that I know that went the Icemen route have been pretty happy with the coaching.  I do agree at some point they get disillusioned with the team's performance.

Shaha and Allegheny had a lot of common opponents playing outside PAHL from a quick look at myhockeyrankings. so the 20 games that shaha played in pahl and struggled with made them more competitive? i heard a lot of shaha kids were taken out in the ambulance from the beginning of the season to the very end with broken bones. like someone else mentioned the mid-am results that I looked up showed two totally different teams. just my findings, anyway.

The 07 Shaha team beat 07 badgers last year and opted to move up. Allegheny needed that banner I guess.  It was absolutely known they would run away with the division this year.

by the looks of the standings, i bet shaha regrets doing that.

Drank the kool aid ? Let me know when your kid makes a NAHL team at 17 years old. If your kid is still playing 18u AAA, chances are extremely slim he gets a real juniors opportunity, he’s done and not going anywhere. All the top talent is gone by that age. The kids have all been identified, drafted etc.

Sounds like he was burnt out, was it really worth all the organization jumping? And now bickering “my kid was better than yours” cmon

I suspect as you do, but I have a feeling that the burden of proof will be on hockey organizations if outbreaks become more frequent. I just wish people would stay away from the locker rooms & other stuff and just play the game and try to make it work. Take your kid to the rink, dress in parking lot or hallway & get on the ice, Parents should go directly to a secluded spot in bleachers to watch and cut the socializing. And yes.. Wear your mask and wear it correctly. I bet there wouldn't be any problems, but getting people to do these simple things is just so hard.

There have not been problems since March. You are a troll, take that fauchi profile pic and keep you kid at home then if you are such a negative Nancy. The world is crumbling before our eyes.

They are also enforcing that masks be worn, no spectators, arrive only 10 minutes prior to your ice time. If every local rink follows these guidelines and the parents and players respect the rules, I dont see why PAHL cant have a season. If I see a player or parent not following these rules I call them out to their face. It only takes one to ruin it for everyone. The rules are not hard to follow.

Who are you to “call someone out” you don’t know anyone’s life and medical history.
