If you play PAHL, you get 10 home games and 10 away games. The away games are local. So, that is essentially what you gain by playing PAHL. The AAA teams each get there 10 home games but lose their 10 away local games.
Although you could end up with State College, Erie, Altoona, Beaver, Wheeling, Youngstown or a combo of those. We had State College, Erie, and Altoona in our division before. You can end up playing some of those twice and with regular tournaments too, still a lot of travel and $

They also pay double the price just to say my son plays AAA hockey when in reality he's on a A team who thinks they are AAA.
Except for Viper stars. They probably pay more than most local aaa and play aa and independent

So if Shaha and esmark played pahl aa minor with the other 2009 by teams, would they get the same development?
What about 09 icemen/yetis that went Independent? They barely won any games in aa last year. What’s the point of not playing Pahl

Perfect. They'll be ready for beer league.
Did you ever hear of growth vs fixed mindset? Being the best that you can be at whatever you are doing at that particular time?

The 2007 team canceled tryouts anyway

I agree with what you are saying but there are some cases where teams SHOULD go for the 3rd A. Most of the teams in the area chasing that 3rd A are not good enough and didn't win like the Badgers 07's. Don't brag about going undefeated or 1 loss in 2yrs of local play and not try and at least challenge yourself at some point. That team could complete at the Tier 1 Midams at least. They finished 6th in 07 Midams, ahead of 1 of the teams that made the Midam tournament.
I just mean they will be criticized either way. Criticized if they stay PAHL and criticized if they play independent

The Badgers parents egos are not big enough to move to AAA, they would much rather play down and win championships against lesser teams. They have racked up 101-16-13 record with a plus +393 goal differential over the last 2 seasons.
Teams can’t win in this position. Mt Lebo 2004 played PAHL AA a few years ago and went undefeated and was criticized for not playing independent AAA and winning all their PAHL games. But then when teams win divisions and want to go independent, they are accused of trying to get the third A.

Huh??? My kid aged out a few years ago. Not sure what that is supposed to mean. I know about the SHAHA 09 team because I have a friend with a player on the team and because of that relationship I went to some of the games this past season.
you know a lot for a spectator

At the younger birth years it seems as though Esmark and Vengeance are reversed. Vengeance has the better teams. Kids that lose their spot on Vengeance, step down to Esmark.
But those that were cut from 16u esmark then went to 16u Vengeance

Question because it seems like this is happening across multiple years. Are people moving to Florida for hockey or for weather/politics? I know the kid who got drafted went to Florida for a while right? I never really thought about Florida as a place to move to develop hockey but maybe I'm old school or out of the loop?
Tampa supposedly has a really good program

Yes they are still planning on playing AAA and only 2 Preds kids went to Esmark.
Preds website shows for tryouts only 18u and 16u as AAA for next year

One is indeed moving to FL and the other i believe went to Esmark. He tried out for PPE and didn't make it.
one went to Florida alliance. One to esmark after being told not to try out at vengeance again. Possibly both pens goalies to vengeance ?

Isn’t this similar to what happened to mon valley, ice miners, Westmoreland eagles? all losing teams rapidly

Is it better to tell them they aren't coming back or collecting their tryout money and then sending them packing? Maybe?
definitely should be told they aren’t going to make it again so they can find another team-also trimming down players after 2 nights of tryouts would also help people move on

Additionally in my opinion it's gross for teams to be trying to poach kids from other teams mid season to begin and especially to cut kids mid season (like the goalie situation)
is this why Vengeance 09 lost both goalies

They probably hired some ex-NHLer who has a 09 son who’s a goalie.
head 09-08 coach’s son is a goalie

It's correct that this is not a rink thing, but a regional thing, but for the sake of completeness YMCA has issued the same requirement for masks on the ice.
It is required by PAHL now. We already got an email from our organization. The kids have to wear them in all PAHL games this weekend.

I didn't hear anything that would affect the games are played within the state. I did hear it implied that the mask mandate would be strengthened. She mentioned gyms. Does that mean that masks must be worn while engaged in physical exercise? Would that then extend to players on the ice?
Not sure. Gyms will have to require it for group exercise classes I read. Negative covid test 72 hours prior to entering PA, so tournaments may have issues.

Michigan is now shut down for hockey. Were they supposed to have nation’s cup there?
-
As of today, now PA has 40 states on the do not travel list.

I thought MD shut down to travel?maybe they are planning to quarantine after.
Maryland is limiting travel to 35 states that are over the 10% rate but then it says that WV, VA, PA, and DC are exempt
