So, if the 18U Icemen rostered as a AA Independent team you wouldn't have a problem with it?  I still think the kids that play on these  lesser AAA teams do so because there isn't a PAHL option that they like.  The PAHL organizations have to adapt.

Then why don’t they just call themselves AA? They did last year.  They’ve played all AA teams so far and this past weekend they beat ashburn 3-2 and then lost 8-1.

You can not play a game 5 on 5 with 9 skaters, tired sloppy hockey will happen, players get hurt when they are tired,  thus the 4 on 4 talk. I know part of the proposal is to switch players at a half time of some sort. That’s just an excuse to keep players paying. In the end it’s all the same and not hockey, it’s summer league.

Don't forget penalties as well. Kids would get exhausted with 9 skaters. And isn't there still icing on the penalty kill for the younger kids?

Just keep in mind that when schools open there will be more cases, which leads to more community spread. That community spread will infiltrate every active aspect of society. That includes youth sports. Other viruses will also be present in the fall that will further complicate things. Then all these viruses will further spread in the community. This is the main reason that the state health department doesn't want sports to happen until 2021. I don't necessarily wish that sports be postponed until 2021, but I would prefer a pause until, at least, October. I could see having practices involving individual skills & conditioning until then, but no contact. I would like to allow the return-to-school process settle in a little prior to throwing sports into the mix.

Sports have been going on for months now. I understand what you’re saying but you can’t just cancel all ongoing sports until October then resume again. Unless there’s a mandate, I don’t see hockey getting canceled. Teams will still travel even with a mandate. Most organizations wouldn’t enforce it anyway because they don’t want to lose money either.

Governor may still take it a step further and impose restrictions. Perhaps, organizations like PAHL & PIHL will make self-imposed restrictions and make it less likely for the state to impose harsher ones.

Yeah thats a high possibility. If PIHL complies with the recommendation, we won't be seeing high school hockey anytime soon. Unfortunate for those kids... but who knows what PAHL will do, I guess we'll find out sooner than later. AAA teams have the best shot of playing, or AA teams participating in tournaments out of state, but those also have a high chance of getting canceled.

Not saying it won't happen or that you're wrong there, King Jr.

I am just saying it sounds like he doesn't want to be held accountable for it so he will let the organizations and associations make the decision as of now.

I agree. I doubt all organizations/rinks will follow his recommendation, but who knows what PAHL and PIHL will do. Probably will just play scrimmages until January but at that point, theres only 2-3 months left in the season.

Or they could quit the independent thing and simply restore those kids to PAHL. Or not field AA teams when they put that talent on the independent team.

Or they could get rid of the coach who has nothing on his resume and is just a money grabber. If they had a half decent coach who actually picked players based on their skill, then the 18u aaa team wouldn’t be that bad. Not as bad as 3 wins, at least.
