Any truth to shaha 09 and/or vengeance 09 folding
-
well if anyone wants rumors. one 09 pens goalie got cut for a Buffalo jr sabres kid and both vengeance goalies trying out other places for 09
-
Vengeance 2009 changed their tryouts to later this week. Probably hoping to catch those that didn’t make other teams or if teams fold

Other than the birthyear when the Pens drop the black team and only field one team, is there ever a large enough cut of players to "Come to the rescue??" At least historically maybe 2 or 3 players get cut from a team, they either go to prep school, Barons, or Esmark. Has that changed?
Just know vengeance and shaha 09 goalies went to barons over the weekend. pens 09 release today.
-
Did pens have any shake ups on their teams that will affect the other aaa teams gaining people?

Not a good turnout at Esmark ‘09 night 1. Not sure exactly but not enough for a team with no cuts.
Heard Shaha 09 had more show up than esmark 09

I misquoted. They’re advertised as 16u and not 09’s. So take from that what you will. You’d think a few 08’s on the ice would improve quality but from the sounds of it they looked like they’d struggle against an 09 BY team.
The 10’s there had a ton of turnover as well and probably will be A major as well.
There hasn’t be a 2010 team there for at least 2 years.

I heard the same and the kids they did have show up were definitely no way near the same skill as last years.
Probably won’t be AA skill level, more like A major black

Why is 2009 birth year such a mess every single year

well the ones from Esmark weren’t cut, their team folded. I think one from Shaha at rebellion left and didn’t even try out
and there were two at Allegheny that made vengeance but declined their spots so I would say aaa players who chose to go national bound aa instead

Should be interesting to hear how many show up at vengeance tonight and how many show up at the esmark supp

So apparently some kids from 09 vengeance made 09 pens today?

I think you are 100% right except I think 09 Preds have always been bad AAA. SHAHA is new but Preds have been pretending for several years. At the 09 level to my knowledge only Vengeance and Pens are legit. I think Esmark, Preds have always been bad and we will see with SHAHA next week when the rankings come out but I assume they will all three be in the 100s.
Interesting at how high preds were over esmark. And Shaha higher than both of them in the 60s

from the 2009, 2010, 2011 games this weekend
Looks like pens elite was 2 out of 3 teams for 2012
2011–pens elite was 2nd and esmark was last 7th place out of 7
2010-pens elite 4th, esmark 13th, Preds 16th, vengeance 22nd-25 teams
2009-Shaha 3rd, esmark 4th-6 teams

What do you expect a team to do if a good player suddenly becomes avaliable? This is the issue with all tryouts being at the same time. Good thing is, all these players are already known. What new can you learn about a player at a 2 day tryout, when you've seen the kid play many times over the last few years. Also, look for the "SHAHA AAA initiative" to battle for the district championship....... against last year's winner
07s SHAHA?

They probably hired some ex-NHLer who has a 09 son who’s a goalie.
but both got cut. not just 1

anyone know why pens u13 would cut both goalies after being ranked so high
-
It was a very competitive league with lots of skill and talent from players and goalies. Well done Alpha!

The times are correct but it is invite-only per one of the coaches

I am not just calling the Badgers out, I am calling out ALL the independent teams out. It is what ruins local hockey. It just runs the price up even further and keeps athletes out. There is no reason. I am calling out the 07 SHAHA, Icemen, Vengeance, and yes the Preds and Allegheny if they all are independent next year. THAT'S 5 TEAMS!!! I am calling them ALL delusional AA teams that aren't intelligent enough to just form a great league with the top 8 teams in the area. I have been calling them ALL out the entire thread. All good teams and good competition for each other. Stop the madness. Don't make the excuses like "everyone else is". At least admit "boy this is stupid."
Sounds like the 2009 AA SHAHA team now wants to be AAA independent as well. Again it's a joke. Yes they are a great team, yes they have a few AAA players but not a team full. 6 of their 13 games have been within 3 goals this season in PAHL AA. Teams will catch up. If you are not in the top 30-40 you are not a AAA team. Again you may have several AAA players but not the depth. Trust me I have been involved in the game for over 30 years. This is how teams recruit and sales pitch uneducated parents. Sorry, just trying to help educate them. It usually goes in one ear and out the other.
2010 group is the same ALREADY they have several independent "AAA" teams that left PAHL. It's laughable. Just keeps getting worse and worse. The 2010 Aviators tried playing up in PAHL Pee Wee AA. Got smoked and should have just played A major black. The only teams I have seen do that successfully were the true AAA teams that were in the top 30 for their birth year. That would have been the younger Vengeance teams.
And the 2010 Predators are independent and played many AA pee wee teams in tournaments this year and got beat. Allegheny 2009 team and their top mixed year A Maj Black team both beat them.
