  1. I hear you. And by no means am I defending the teams or players as far as talent goes. I was just trying to inform on how the teams were picked. Also there is no way they would get together and slot the players and teams where they belong. We all know their 18uaaa coach picks by what school you play for and what gym you belong to. Its a shame because they were good in years past. My son played there and won multiple banners when it was mostly an aa program. Bob Errey came over from southpointe and started this mess when his team joined the NJPHL and opted out of PAHL. Its been downhill from there.

  2. Thomas came in with around 13 players from the Icemen. Bush started out around 10 including the Peters Twp. group that follows him around. Bush then took most of the 16AA '02s. Thomas took the other 2 from that team.(one of them being an'03 who didn't want to play for the 16aa coach. Not sure how they picked from there.

  3. Most of the AA players were at AAA tryouts because its extra ice. The tryouts are set up that way. You pay for 1 and can attend all tryouts. Again the team that won in the playoffs had 7 '02s and 13 01's. To answer the King I know of at least 3 who were offered spots on the AAA team that declined. Probably because either the player or parent was smart enough to know that team could not compete at AAA.

  4. Teams are closer than their records show. I believe they played 4 times this year and all were close. I don't know a lot about the first coach. He came over from the Icemen. Bush is a good coach who has taken his team to nationals before. Not surprised either way.

  5. Its crazy how these rumors change. I heard from a parent on the 16u aa team that the goalie threatened to quit because the player was suspended and the rest of the team wanted the kid back. Who knows? Unless your kid is on that team does anyone know the truth ? Bottom line is the preds were once a good organization but now its all about the money. If they let the aaa kids play on aa where they belong they would still have good teams. As it is now the are not very good in PAHL. Their best team came from the icemen and most of their other top teams are average at best.

Just looked up the U18 team and they lost a couple of close ones this weekend to Shadyside, 13-2 and 5-1. Good job Ralph, Gary and the rest of the gang lining their pockets. Good thing there is plenty of $$$ over there in Bethel, USC and especially Peters.

Preds are train wreck.  You are 100% correct. Its all about who pay for private lessons and what gym you belong to as well as what high school you go to. That's the kings business model. The only above average team is the 18u aa team that they highjacked from the Iceman and the only competitive aaa team is 16u who has most of the shaha national championship team that was highjacked the year before. Their other 18u aa team is mid pack, the 16u aa team hasn't won a game yet in pahl after 7 games and the 14u aa major team is dead last.

  7. Preds  Update

18U- Will struggle to score goals. Most of their talent aged out from last year and the kids moving up from 16AAA last year were one of the worst teams in the country. 3 of those players will be lucky to make the team and 2 play D. A player from AA Foxes last year was the best offensive talent at tryouts and I don't know if he will stay. Team will be average at best.

16U- This is a good team. Not sure what they will do on a national level but there is talent here. Their top end guys are players.

15U- As someone mentioned previously this team wouldn't win AA PAHL. A few of these players may decline also. Don't want to get bashed all season long.

  8. Was there all weekend and watched most of the games. The teams that won were the 3 best teams all weekend. Armstrong 18 and Lebo 14 were strong all weekend. Icemen at 16 were also strong although not as good as I was expecting for an independent team that played a hybrid schedule. They probably would have won PAHL but not with a perfect record for sure. Good luck to all 3 teams. I think they will represent WPA well.

  9. Wow. Little Johny must be an Ice Viking. I went because a friend I was meeting was one of the refs so I could care less who won and who looked good but if you think they dominated you must have a kid on that team. Ill stand by my original statement that if the Preds had more than 11 guys the score would be different. That's probably why they wore down after the first period genius. I hope you guys win every game you play this season. Good Luck.

FYI to the original reply. I thought the game had good speed. Not overly physical except for one big guy from the preds but he had the only 2 and 10 . Penalties  I think were close but SCIR 2nd goal was scored on a 5 on 3.

  10. Was at that game. Looked like both teams were placed correctly. I would be a little concerned with the Preds playing with 12 skaters but I would guess they have a full roster at that level. SCIR had a full bench. Game would of probably went the other way if the Preds had a deeper bench but who knows. Looks like teams are fairly even.
