Saying it’s a problem and saying it doesn’t exist are two different things. This player was correct. One of the players that went into the stands had game misconducts by PIHL and never had to serve additional games from the team while others had to. There were also incidents with this player at practice where he hurt other players on the team, again just brushed aside by the coach. Being overly strict for many while letting a few do whatever is inconsistent. I would agree that is a problem.

The video I saw was being shared by Latrobe kids. I would not be sharing any videos of high school students here. Search up Instagram if you want to see a video. I’m sure you’ll find something.

There are many versions of videos of this being shared. Sadly one shows a Shaler player, helmet off, full face shown and name and number clear as day on the Shaler jersey, running up and punching a Latrobe parent. You can also see one of the assistant coaches trying to break it up. What leads a kid to act like they can do anything without consequences? So while maybe other kids were punished, apparently this one missed the memo. It’s sad for high school hockey and sad for Shaler. Previous coach was fired for a lot less than this. Seems completely unfair to him at this point.

Coach was repeatedly warned from players and parents about the first kid that went into the stands. He chose to favor that kid anyway and look where it got them. That kid punched a parent from Latrobe while his dad had the guy in a headlock . Kid should be banned and the Coach needs to be fired. Complete embarrassment of the Shaler program.
