That seems like a reasonable response. Maybe they could have addressed the security/police presence also.
Thanks for posting.
Armstrong was lucky to not receive "Double Secret Probation".

It would be nice if Armstrong finishes their investigation and suspend the football players involved before their WPIAL playoff game this weekend but we know how hard it is to be thorough until they lose.

as someone who was at that game, and also wishes to stay unknown despite not joining the derogatory and unsportsmanlike chants, i can confirm it was not the entire student section. there was a select few who would start it and few that would join but at LEAST 60% of the people or students in that corner were not participating in the sexist remarks and rightfully believe they do not deserve to be in the game nor expected them when we walked in that door. i can speak on behalf of the majority that were silent during these moments and say we are very embarrassed and cannot believe it got that far, i myself even attempted to message the goalie on instagram apologizing for those who were audible. we deserve to be punished and the referees reprimanded in some sort, but i do ask to understand that most of us, ESPECIALLY those who play hockey away from the team on the ice, recognized that it was ridiculous.
Help identify the perpetrators.

I might not have a big pull with the league but I just sent something over to the commissioner directly. I hope the league takes it seriously.
Write articles about it on your website until they do something.
The PIHL only responds to being embarrassed.

DISCUSSION POINTS
1. Ownership
a. Starts from the top
i. League and association leaders have to take action to curb this problem.
ii. Everyone is against poor sportsmanship until it happens within their organization; then no one wants to take a stand against it. Example: Greensburg Salem parents blaming opposing students instead of citing that one of their own parents threw the bottle of water on the ice.
b. Sportsmanship is everyone’s responsibility!
i. Parents and coaches have far more ability to be proactive to sportsmanship issues; by nature, the referees and PIHL can only be reactive when sportsmanship is not upheld.
ii. We click more on the PIHL Suspension List in each week’s PIHL newsletter than we do on everything else combined, including the sportsmanship message. This indicates we care more about knowing the problems than we care about fixing the problems.
2. Officiating
a. No blame can be placed on the officiating – it is not the problem.
i. Not liking the officiating is not a reason to exhibit appalling behaviors
ii. Officiating is not the parents’ responsibility to address anyway

Thank goodness our family is out of PAHL & PIHL hockey. We had problems mostly at 18uAA with both of those refs, and while they both are very veteran refs, they can get too much into the game themselves and off the tracks.
It's no surprise to me that these 2 names were associated with the game in question. The worst part of this is Trego is either on or attends disciplinary hearings and for him to ignore this going on while he is calling the game is unacceptable.
I agree with the other posters that the video of this game should go to Safesport and bypass the PIHL.
I hope the parent of that goalie takes action.
Trego has been an instructor for USA Hockey referees.
He is a disgrace. He wantonly ignores what happens on the ice.

It is safer for an organization to cover their own asses by letting a coach or player be suspended rather than support them.
Poor Jimmy didn't make the team and the coach didn't pump his tires for him. Get a lawyer and play the victim. Cancel Culture in action.
I was a club President for 5 seasons and I made sure to let our AD know about any issues as soon as I was aware of them. You won't believe how many threats I would get about 'going to the school board'. I always laughed and said to go ahead and I would forward the email that was already sent to the school AD.
Shame on the WA Board if the coach was truly abusive and they didn't 'know' or do anything about it if they did know.

Mort chokes again.
They had an easy path to the finals and spit the bit.

Having watched the QV-Armstrong game last night and the one this past spring in the PIHL playoffs, I find it very peculiar that the QV coach refused to shake hands with Armstrong Coach in the spring but was willing to last night. What's wrong with this guy?

PR should 100% be in AAA this season. Absolutely no reason they are down in AA IMO.
They threw some games last year to stay around .500 so they wouldn't move up.

Rumor (speculation?) is in-school suspensions earlier in the week and all football players and cheerleaders are able to participate tonight.
The Armstrong (Kittanning, PA) varsity football team has a home playoff game vs. Montour (McKees Rocks, PA) today @ 7p.
