You do know that they volunteer to go to Nationals, they are not picked for it. Again it's the house league of Nationals. You have Tier 1 18u, 16u, 15o, 14u and 13o and Tier 2 18u, 16u and 14u. Then you have High School which has 4 different divisions Prep, Tier 1, Tier 2 and Girl's. BC plays in the 2nd lowest division (out of 12) just above the girls division.

Let's take the top 6 in D2 and play the stellar six and see what happens?

  2. 2 teams from here can go to nationals

    1 in the open division

    1 in the regular division

The best team from the open division is rewarded by the league and the commissioner to go to nationals

So no you don't just sign up

If PIHL would move the playoffs up 1 week States would be over and one team from 1A 2A or 3A would be able to go

It actually kind of makes you question the BC coach. At some point you have to have a little bit of an understanding how wide spread the level of ability at the D2 level is. Do you really need to have your top line racking up points late in the 3rd when you are already up by 13?

That coach s terrible he should sit his seniors in the 3rd period in there last year of high school hockey or have them pass 5 times before shooting you must watch CNBC!

3 loses in 3 years and went to Nationals 3 years in a row

Who would want there kid to experience that

I don't want to make a case for the D2 kids because I haven't seen them in person, but it appears the Stellar 6 Player from the A Blue division also got nearly half of his points against some really awful bottom 5 teams. And quite honestly the other half of his points came against the playoff teams in that blue division. And if the playoffs showed us anything it's that other that CV, the rest of that division was also pretty bad. Is he a good player? Maybe. But he probably only gets a fraction of those stats if he played against the likes of QV, Shaler, Indiana, GB, Meadville, NC all season. Not taking anything away from the young man, he led the team to the Pens Cup, Undefeated Season, Freshman and all that, but it's the same situation.

    BC beat Cv this year

BC has a reputation for running their top dogs in blow out games to pad their stats.

More kids from D2 have been drafted or moved on to the next level than any other division

    Do your homework

And this is why you can’t have stats.  Would you trust this guy?  There is at least one on every team. His kid probably has phantom secondary assist on every goal he is in there for.  As someone previously said - the parents ruin it.

    Good point

His kid plays on the forth line because they don't have a 5th line

Why exactly do we need all these stats? Tier II and lower is not typically where you find your future NHLers. The league does have a huge recruitment problem, however. My team kept stats usually so the one time I needed them in over a decade of playing, I had them. I think it would just make the insane landscape....insane. I am fairly certain that a few of the posters lamenting this belonged to teams who heavily recruited.

I don't disagree that PAHL could use some updating. Kids are on social media. Even PIHL has done a great job in the last few years promoting kids and the league. If they don't want to publish individual stats, they could do other things. As can individual organizations. When a kid gets a hattie in a game or goalie gets a shut out, for example. So much is volunteer driven, however, and the fact of the matter is that people crap all over you. A lot.

Other sport teams use max prep or elite prospects

But for kids to get looks from colleges this counts weather it's D1 to D3 or club

    What a good game

Too bad a dad from Armstrong that was working the clock was giving the Predators kids the finger and trash talking them after a 0 to 0 game

    Who does that?

No pahl rep was present at game

And the president of Armstrong didn't care

Maybe that guy was counting shots hard to record shots with your middle finger up

Plus let's face it no home team does there own goalie any favors by no posting the right shots

But pahl doesn't keep stats anyway

18U had some close competition. Preds beat Mt Lebo in overtime Saturday coming back from 2 - 0 deficit in the third. Arrows beat Preds in shootout after two five minute over times to win PAHL 18U yesterday.

I saw that on live barn

Preds coach called timeout with 38 seconds left in 3rd shorthanded with face off in their zone

Drew up a perfect play to score then shortly after win it in overtime

Here to find out Lebo coach left after 2nd period to watch his other kid play

I heard Lebo parents were pissed

The championship was a 0 to 0 tie after 2 overtime periods

They should have went to 3 on 3 overtime to decide a winner

Hate to see a championship go to a shoot out

Looks like the score is correct on MHR for the Armstong/Preds game to me.  Maybe it was just recently updated.  What I'm trying to figure out is how the Preds lost to the PAHL Badgers team that has 6 wins all year.

It is now thanks for fixing that

You know the preds should submit a correction?   Also the teams that beat them could submit those scores?   All of this is pretty easily fixable.

But Armstrong has to approve it since they are in charge of my hockey rankings in this area

  13. How is Armstrong ranked 7th in 18u tier 2

They are responsible for reporting scores for tier 2 to my hockey rankings

    Their score goes in immediately

And don't post other teams for awhile to benefit themselves

They just posted that they  beat the preds but they didn't

I'm sure it was a HONEST mistake that will take weeks to fix

They lost to the preds twice

    They tied Np/ lebo/ Allegheny / rennagades

Don't get me wrong they have played good teams but 7th in the country ?

How do you determine how many kids on the roster actually attend Canevin? It doesn’t show on the PIHL website. Is it because you are a Canevin insider and know this for a fact? I’d like to see where each kid actually attends school.

    Oneanddone listed it

Haven’t beaten my team. I am actually a fan of Bishop Canevin as I am a graduate of the school and played there myself. Maybe this year’s team has  only 8 kids on the team that attend Canevin. But in the last few years there have been more than enough kids to field a pure team. I know this because I attended games to support my old team and talked to kids a number of times that were not playing, and they attended Canevin. I am talking 5 or 6 kids a game. There have been plenty of schools that play with less than a full team of skaters in the pure divisions. In fact, there have been teams in AA that have played without a full roster. (Which is another failure by PIHL). You can be a fan of a team or school and still disagree with how they make up their team. Good luck to Canevin the rest of the way!

It doesn't matter how many kids from 1 team dress for a game it goes by the roster there has never been enough Canevin kids on the roster to go pure since they went to D 2 division

Nobody in Class A from PIHL has shot at States in my opinion.

You keep mentioning teams that have competitive and full JV teams should be in 2A. There are teams that have been barely able to field a JV team that have been forced to play AA and it has showed that they didn’t belong there. The competitive balance formula needs to take that as a more serious reason for not moving teams up. As well as taking into consideration how many seniors a team loses. North Hills is a perfect example of that this year.

Bishop Canevin should have been removed from the open class years ago. They have had enough kids that attended the school to field teams without the Co-op players. They have played many many games with kids that actually attend the school watch from the stands while the co-op players played in every game. They manipulate the system so they can have their outstanding co-op players play all the while they could field a team without them. It is a shame that PIHL has let this happen. But I guess no one should be surprised by their lack of action as they have been manipulated before. When Moon won the open Class championship they had ONE player that didn’t attend Moon. It was an excuse not to play AAA that year. Which was also a ridiculous ask of Moon after losing so many seniors the previous year.

Just checked 8 Penguin cups and only 2 loses in 3 years

Went to Nationals the last 2 years and probably going again this year

How bad did they beat your kids team?

No Jv team to hide kids like other organizations and only 38 kids in their freshman class

There is 8 kids from Canevin on the team

Before you say Catholic schools recruit in D2 you can recruit a whole  school

    Just get better!
