They have the concrete slab poured and it’s curing. I’ve heard everything from ready by second week of august to ready by Labor Day, so not really sure. But they did do a bunch of work on it over the summer and it’s in its final stages.

From what I can tell it’s full contact traveling beer league? I really don’t understand the draw to that from a player or a fan perspective but to each their own I guess 🤷🏻♂️.

Just call Ice Castle and find out. Everyone is so worried about if this place will have a team or that place will have a team. Just call and ask.
Yeah because the front desk girl will have all the answers. Trying to effectively communicate with someone within the Preds organization is a complete waste of time.

Based upon the picture above it looks like it will be spectator's nightmare to find a good spot or two?
Hopefully something is in the works to improve that.
Not any worse than Barons arena really. I think there’s room in the corner not shown in that photo above to have a corner section of bleachers, plus then the balcony.
Better than nothing I guess! I’m assuming SP will mainly use that sheet for practices and overflow for game scheduling. @bb2j3z I know you’re involved with SP, any insight?

Anyone at Printscape regularly? How's the construction going? Someone had mentioned that they are opening up the side of the building to put in bleachers. I can't even picture this.
Was there this weekend. Construction crews working on it all day. They have the old base tore up and are completely redoing it from the ground up. No idea about the bleachers, not sure there there’s enough room to do that. I’ll take some pictures next time I’m there.

Looks like Rebellion is a showcase only organization which means they still play PAHL and replace one or two travel tournaments with the AHF showcases?
Im actually a big fan of this because the AHF showcases are not stay to play.

I’ve seen more than enough paid coaches develop a system of pay to play forcing players to sign up for their skill sessions to earn playing time.
This is every single paid coach at preds.

My guess is heading to Preds because they are playing in the THF and it’s the new shiny toy that promises exposure

As a parent of a child on a 10U A Major Black team this season, and personally knowing 80% of the families on the PPE 2013 teams I can say confidently that there were MAYBE 5 kids total in that division that would have even had a sniff at making those teams. My kid was not one of them just to be clear. I think the Preds team was the only 2013 team in A Major Black and they finished second. Their goalie is unbelievable (yes I know they are only 9, but seriously the kid is a brick wall).
I wouldn’t sweat it. Those Pens teams are already picked anyway. The tryouts are just money makers. There’s a 2013 player who played PAHL AA this year, is head and shoulders above the majority of the kids on the pens black teams, and he will likely get cut again this year because his parents don’t play the game. Plain and simple. You HAVE to kiss ass to play up there year after year. It’s exhausting.

I don’t mean for this to come across as snarky, but isn’t that what most PAHL teams do?
I think this is more intended as JUST a tournament team. So you could play for your PAHL org and also this team.
@tyburket will these teams have practices or anything?

Worst I have personally experienced consistently over the last 20 years - Allegheny, Beaver, Preds. I have found that at the lower levels of play it can be really bad, and at the “faux” AAA level is atrocious. Tournaments are the worst. Mites nowadays are the worst parents ever. Everyone thinks their red mite is going to the nhl, and they act live every tournament is the Stanley cup playoffs.

SCIR, Vengeance, Aviators, Vipers/Stars, Steel City Selects, Young Foxes, Fox Chapel, Deer Lakes, Shaler, Central Catholic, Duquesne, and Pitt plus learn to play, figure skating and public skate all ion 3 sheets of ice. I do not pity the rink scheduler and the organization schedulers that’s for sure.

Are they playing out if alpha all year?! How many teams is that now at alpha holy crap.

$2750 for mites seems a bit steep! What do they charge for elite mites in Cranberry?
$2650! (Yellow helmet not included)….
The 66ers play as the Pittsburgh Knights AAU, there was a team called Rampage, and a team called Whalers last year. It’s happening here kind of under the radar (for now) until BB makes it a thing here like they are in the east.
I think USA Hockey does a poor job of transitioning mites to squirts in regards to full ice play. I think that all final year mites should switch to full ice for the second half of their last mite season. Instead they offer “transition camps” and try to teach the entire game in like 4 hours. Then you have first year squirt teams who spend the first half of their season learning the game. It’s kind of a mess in my opinion.

It was a great game! Pa Hockey ..thanks for presenting it to us folks that would rather sit by the fireplace than haul our butts to Erie!
One of the worst rinks in western pa from a spectator perspective. Right up there with Hess

First everyone wants to be independent and now they want to be in a league ?
To be fair when the league offers a lot of benefits that independent doesn’t, to some it does make a lot of sense. There is good and bad about both scenarios. From an outsiders perspective I think this is a smart move for the Preds.

Does this only impact preds AAA or their AA and below teams too?
According to their Facebook it’s just their AAA teams. Squirt Major to U18

but it wasn't the first or second time that Montour got caught cheating this season, it was the THIRD time. This one just happen to bite them in the ass.
Purely curious and I apologize if it’s already been discussed here, but what were the other two incidents of cheating this season?

Eh…..I’m gonna call BS on this one. Knowing the person in question personally for many years I don’t think that’s his MO.
My .02 is that rules are put in place for a reason and they should be followed by everybody. But I’d hate to see the kids suffer because of a series of decisions made by adults.

How do you think PPE will feel about losing to the Preds?
They don’t care. The 2011 gold team is #1 in the country.
When will 2nd sheet at Printscape be ready?
in Western Pennsylvania Youth Hockey

Not the best photo but you can see the concrete is poured and curing. I think it’s been like that for at least a few weeks now, so I’m sure it’s getting close.
