Pihl communication came out that games on Thursday and Friday would be played, and then shut down until January.  Also communication from Rinks north of the city stating the same.  Sucks.

I would assume schools would report in general, teams like Peters are rumored to apparently be in quarantine now but you don't see that anywhere.  I don't know how the PIHL is going to make it work if teams have outbreaks and are shut down for 2 weeks.  I mean as it stands now, IF Peters is actually shut down, this will take them right up to the beginning of the season.

Anyone hearing any rumblings of teams with positive cases of Covid but not reporting?  I've heard some rumors of different teams with current positive cases but are keeping the news in house as much as possible.  Hoping this isn't happening, but certainly wouldn't be surprised if it is.

I don't think it is the rink rule. It is the PIHL rule.  They are making the schools play by those rules so that it will be USA Hockey sanctioned. Hopefully this is all over at 12:01 tonight. Still doesn't help the people who play at MT Lebo tonight.

From what I understand, it is based off of each rinks capacity (fire code) and a percentage of that total number is allowed in.

I am genuinely curious what the feeling is from people on whether there is going to be hockey this fall either amateur or high school.  I just cannot see it happening in this political climate and the way things are going.  It just seems impossible and makes me wonder if it is worth paying all these non-refundable tryout and commitment fees.

Who does everyone like in each class?

Side question...Can anyone explain to me why the PIHL changes their officiating format for the playoffs only?  Each regular season game employs the 2 man system, but come playoffs, it switches to a 4 man system.  I guess I get why, to look more professional etc etc.  But what I don't get is, the games are called and officiated one way all season only to have double the set of eyes (and egos) officiating games that matter.  Not sure I agree with their thought process.

PR should 100% be in AAA this season.  Absolutely no reason they are down in AA IMO.

The league has gone from weekly video broadcasted games with Rubino, to little or no coverage in papers or any press.  Now the website has regressed to pre-2006 to where you have to wait over a week to see some scores.  Yet fees continue to go up for teams. 

Not to mention the competitive formula being a total joke.  Bayard Rustin might win every single A title from now on.

The city has never cared less about high school hockey and it is a real shame that the current league officers have driven it to this.
