Do you think Hockey is Ruined in this area?  I do think the only people who come on here are disgruntled about something related to their kids Hockey experiences!  I'm trying not to "Pounce"!  Neat word!

Wow, these kids went to tryouts and were placed on these teams.  Sounds more like a PAHL issue to me! I sometimes think that jealousy is what motivates people to comment about the extra A's thrown out!  Why else would it get so many comments on these sites?

Wow, time to scramble for Ice time.  I'm sure they are calling around to all the rinks to find out who has time.  Early morning!  Late night.  Should be a good thing for all the Black Bear rinks that have extra time available.  If I were rinks with time available I would be calling everyone that plays and practices out of Mt Lebo!

Danner, seems that you do know your ACHA hockey. And for that matter the entire after Midgets College hockey scene.  Thanks for the analysis.  I do hope you are a little wrong because it is nice to see a SWPA team in the top 20.  I'm still watching PIHL and PAHL games and have not seen an ACHA or D-3 game in a long, long time.  I'm just really glad there are some options for local kids to play hockey after PIHL and PAHL.  I feel like you just want to give us all a dose of reality!  Which is a good thing, so we can see the next level with eyes wide open!

So where does the "All knowing Danner"  Rank Pitt?   Since I'm sure you have seen the 13 teams ahead of them and 11 below them play!  Just curious!

80 games? Sounds like a big mistake! Miscommunication for sure!  So no schedules come out till the 11th!

When is PAHL going to put up the schedules?  Didn't they have their scheduling last weekend?  Any games this weekend?   I guess they have a lot of issues to work thru with this new system!

Didn't they forfeit out of the playoffs last year?  And isn't Johnstown kind of far from PIA?

Looks to me like Latrobe has 2 different goalies this year!

I am here to learn from people who have been through it!  I'm glad you share your insights but most everyone here gives no hope of playing Juniors let alone high level ACHA now!  But then again how many kids get D-1 Basketball and Football scholarships from WPA?  Did your good hockey player child have fun playing hockey? Would he do it again?

I'm glad you guys are all so concerned about how people spend their money!  Maybe you al should run for office and fix this country!

Never said they all were but I would venture to say that no one is making millions from hockey in this area either!  Are they making a living from it?  I sure hope so or why do it? Are there people out there and on this board who are perhaps jealous that others are making a living from Hockey?  I'd bet the ranch!

Tomorrow we will see all the haters saying how awful hockey is here in Western PA after the MYHR come out.  I'm sure they will tell us what teams should just fold now!  Same story every year!

Thanks, I sure will!  As long as they love the game and have good coaches at what ever level they are playing I will keep cheering them on! Sure won't put down the organizations that are providing the teams and coaches for the kids!

Please explain what you mean by that!  Isn't Hockey, Hockey no matter what level you play at? I'm just trying to understand what you mean by that!  Isn't the same thing happening throughout the country or do you think it's just a Western PA thing?  Shattuck St Marys now has 2 18UAAA teams!  Where should the kids on the 2nd team go?  Maybe they should stop playing so they don't pollute the AAA Hockey scene!

Are the numbers of players in Western PA on the decline?  I just don't understand your negativity!

Should he lose money for the good of Hockey?  Ultimately it's a business!  I doubt he is getting super rich from this. Chances are Black Bear would have owned that rink also if he wasn't running it!
