Why do you care?  According to your logic there should only be maybe 10 AAA teams in the country!  Would that make you happy?  Why are you always so negative? Should the teams that finish near the bottom in the NHL fold because they aren't competitive?  The people on here who judge the level of hockey played in this area annoy me to no end!  Who really cares?  Let the kids play without your criticism!  How about admiring them for putting it all out there!  95% are playing as hard as they can for the love of the sport! 

Ice Rink ownership is a business just like GM, Ford, Samsung Apple, etc.   I'm sure they could all have beautiful facilities but then you couldn't afford to play!  Does anyone realize how much money was pumped into the area this weekend from that Tier 1 Hockey Federation Showcase?  Who really cares how good the Hockey was!  I would much rather have the revenue at Hotels and restaurants in the area from this tournament.  These kids played their hearts out this weekend in Pittsburgh!  Maybe the facilities aren't perfect and the Hockey wasn't the best but they were out there competing and giving their best effort.  All you haters need to find some other sport to complain about!

I think you need to look at that again!  I think the Preds will finish top 3!  You need to look at the other teams rosters before you criticize!   I'm guessing you can't because they don't publish them!  You will never see NP, Steel City, or Mt Lebos rosters unless they play a Tourney that uses Score Sheet.  I guess they are smart in that people like you can't criticize what you can't see!  And why do you care about what level teams play at!  Most kids know what they are getting into when they sign up and tryout!

Saucey, so you are saying there is a big decline in hockey ability in SWPA?  Just a year removed from the 16U Renegade team winning Nationals?  Maybe AAA is the new AA and AA is the new A Major!  Who cares? Let the kids play where they want.  Maybe the only ones who should play AAA are the kids who are recruited by PPE and Esmark!  Only question is how will you stop other organizations from fielding AAA teams?  Especially when they have kids go on to play high level Junior Hockey.  Even if it is just one or 2 kids per organization that weren't offered a spot at PPE or Esmark.  But then again I guess they should just quit wasting their time and parents money.

What separates Westmoreland from South Hills in 18U?

18UAA, Locks for playoffs  Mt Lebo. Preds!   Steel City, Armstrong, North Pittsburgh will battle for 2 spots,  (It will be close!  Probably come down to Fair Play points!) Vipers, Badgers and South Hills should have played A Major!  Just my opinion. 

Final team placements due out today!  Does anybody anticipate any changes?   Appeal games?

I don't think any team, but SF has a chance to take states though. Looks like a lot of the younger players have left PIHL for PPE, Esmark, junior teams or AAA out of town teams. Not sure what caused that or just something that is normal.

How do you know that a lot of kids have left PIHL?  Are you guessing or do you have access to rosters?

PA Hockey, you seem to know!  How does TenBand decide what games to broadcast?  Do they try to get game sponsors?  How much would it cost to sponsor a broadcast?  I heard him say a couple of times that he would have a list of game broadcasts for this year coming up.

Does the PIHL sponsor the St Margaret Tournament?

Are these games going to be on Ten Band TV?   Obviously no one from the PIHL reads this forum.  Radio silence as to why there are no stats and rosters for the St Margaret Tournament.  Sure hope the regular season is not going to be like this.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I sure do hope the regular season is not like this!  I know I am being redundant but I just can't believe that the organization I thought had it all together is regressing back to PAHL status.  I hope they are not hiding the stats because they don't want to hurt any ones feelings like PAHL does. I would take the AHF & THF over PAHL any day! And maybe over PIHL if this stays this way! I wonder if PIHL needs help entering rosters?  I could help if needed!

For 16U (2007 by) in western PA:

Thanks Pa Hockey!  Solid recap!  Any idea why PIHL doesn't have rosters and game sheets for the tournament?  They have in years past!

Also was Alpha as run down as Loves Puck indicated?  Do they charge admission for the Tourney? Might have to come over and watch some games.  Hard to watch on live barn.  I sure do like Ten Band TV's broadcasts.  Sure hope they are doing more this year.  Do they need sponsors to do more?

No stats and game reports available for the Tournament.  I know it was opening night but all they have up are the scores!  Where are the game summaries?  You can go back and look at last years still!  IS the PIHL regressing to PAHL status?  I would sure like to look at the game recaps!  No rosters listed for the teams!  Once again a lack of promotion of the sport!

Wow, not a very good review of one of the few privately owned rinks left in this area.  That sounds like something that would have been said about PIA.  I do know that rink gets a lot of use.  Where is all the money going. Into owners pockets as opposed to repairs.  Bummer!

Not sure exactly what your beef is with the AHF & THF.  To me it seems to be a whole lot better than just playing PAHL games!  PAHL probably had a dozen or so games over the weekend.  You have to go mining on MYHR to try to find any info.

Thanks for the info!  Somehow we need to do more to promote the sport.  I'm going to try to watch some on TenBand TV.

Update on PIA and Printscape Ice!   I'm pretty sure PIA was putting ice down over the weekend.  Not sure about Printscape!  No livebarn listed yet!

Hard to believe High School Hockey is rolling out tonight!  Seems like the longest High School sports season!

Why can't the PAHL post them?  Are they afraid to hurt some teams feelings?  It's ashamed that you had to go hunt for them!

Stinger again I think you are 100% right on!  The PAHL needs to step up!  They need to get out of their antiquated ways and promote Hockey as opposed to just running a league!  Wouldn't take much to have a PR department to handle stats and make them a player friendly league.
