  1. No stats and game reports available for the Tournament.  I know it was opening night but all they have up are the scores!  Where are the game summaries?  You can go back and look at last years still!  IS the PIHL regressing to PAHL status?  I would sure like to look at the game recaps!  No rosters listed for the teams!  Once again a lack of promotion of the sport!

What a DUMP. They must have a had or do have a rodent problem. Smells like Mouse and or Rat $hit BAD

Giving the "Barn" analogy a run for it money.

The Ice Sucks, all flood, little to No Cut.

I've seen better lighting at Club Erotica.

The Hockey was mediocre at best.

Wow, not a very good review of one of the few privately owned rinks left in this area.  That sounds like something that would have been said about PIA.  I do know that rink gets a lot of use.  Where is all the money going. Into owners pockets as opposed to repairs.  Bummer!

Good for them. Let's see where the teams they "dominated statistically" land when the first rankings come out.

Here's your home and home across the river series since your data mining skills seem about as good as your PA geography skills. 6 games - 4 over Labor Day weekend

Not sure exactly what your beef is with the AHF & THF.  To me it seems to be a whole lot better than just playing PAHL games!  PAHL probably had a dozen or so games over the weekend.  You have to go mining on MYHR to try to find any info.

    PAHL = Dinosaur

See some 16U scores rolling in...I assume group 1?

Indiana 1 to 0 win over SCIR

SP 3 to 1 win over Lebo

Huskies 5 to 4 over Preds

    Interesting results

    Any other games?

Why can't the PAHL post them?  Are they afraid to hurt some teams feelings?  It's ashamed that you had to go hunt for them!

To be 100% clear, I am not an advocate for/against the AHF or intent on bashing PAHL and it's member organizations. I'm just saying it never hurts to look at the competition to see what they are doing...

Stinger again I think you are 100% right on!  The PAHL needs to step up!  They need to get out of their antiquated ways and promote Hockey as opposed to just running a league!  Wouldn't take much to have a PR department to handle stats and make them a player friendly league.

  6. Stinger, you are right on with all of this.  Hopefully the new PAHL format will change their antiquated ways.  I can't believe that they do nothing to promote the players within their league. Especially at the AA level 14U and above.  The kids that lead the league should be recognized.  They have had the information all along but choose not to show it to the public.  Not sure why!  I love the transparency of THF & AHF. Players of the week etc.  Gives the kids something to strive for.  They could have an Allstar game at the 18U, 16U and 14U.  But again they choose not to.  At least PIHL does that and makes the Stats readily accessible to all.

Hopefully this is close as here is a list of rinks that have not yet been "brought up"

The already discussed 2nd sheet at PIA which apparently has concerning issues

The 3rd sheet at Palmer - not typically frozen until September, but if it's not fully booked, then what do they do?

The Ice Mine - no ice now and who knows what the future of that place ever is

Rostraver - guess it's not in BB's financial interest to have ice there.

Wow, that all is a bummer!  Are you saying that Rostraver is not going to have Ice this year?  Where are all those programs going?

Looks like they're almost ready to make ice at Printscape's second sheet. The concrete is wet here - there's no ice - but the boards are complete. You can see a scoreboard up there at the end, too.

Interesting!  Looks like old glass and boards!  Recycled from some place else.  You would think they could have cleaned the glass before they put it up.   But who cares as long as we get another sheet of ice.   Is Hunt Armory happening this year?

It’s odd. According to the Preds website… they have listings that include the team, coach, level classification, and even have separate tabs for Tier I vs Tier II to help separate all of the organization’s teams from 8U Blue all the way through Tier II U18 AA and Tier I U16 AAA.
On the Tier I tab, every team/coach/classification is included except for the Tier I 18U AAA. It’s August 11, and without the automatic showcase tournaments inclusion; there is still nothing listed regarding the U18 AAA team. No roster, coaches, schedule (other than the pre-populated pending tournament dates with TBD times and opponents).  There’s no news about anything related to that team. Perhaps there’s still some question marks regarding available  roster spots, coaching vacancies, strength of schedule compared with the current situation? We’re approaching a time where scheduling, coaching/staff clearances and training camp dates/times are usually squared away and start to ramp up. Mid August is when the high-end competitive teams start to get the ball rolling. It’s interesting that every other squad is accounted for except for the eldest team.

They are hiding their Roster so that no one can Poach their players.  If you look you will see that Esmark does not have their rosters up either.   I also think some kids at 18U are trying to make Junior Rosters so haven't completely decided who they are playing for.  I've heard of a few 18Us that are going out of state to play next year.  Should be interesting when it all shakes out.

  10. If that is indeed the same person as the internet searches suggest I would be very cautious about trusting everything he says.  But if you look up the league website it gives the sense that they are trying to put something together. A lot has to go right for it to work but 20 other cities are trying to make it work.  Probably a little step up from beer league. Not much different than the Wild Things baseball team in Washington PA.  Just glad to see that there is another opportunity for people to play hockey.  I'm sure there will be a lot of hiccups along the way.  Look at Antonio Browns football team for an example!

  11. Wow, Typical message board negativity coming from the same people!  You all must feel slighted somehow in you or your children's hockey careers.  It's like my kid couldn't make it so I'm going to criticize anything and everything about Western Pa Hockey and Hockey in general.  I feel bad for you all and your negative attitudes Why do you all care so much about how other people spend their money?

  12. I assume that Black Bear took over the program.  Anybody know how many teams they are fielding this year and how the rink improvements may be going.  Also when will the rink open for the season? I see they sold the naming rights to CFS Bank.  Is there an official start to the season for PAHL practice and play?
