Nobody tried to deceive anyone…everybody knew where the player was from the entire season, the situation was disclosed and the roster was approved. There was never any “cover-up”.  If it’s the rule, fine, but don’t say that adults were trying to pull a fast one.  EVERYONE KNEW AND WAITED UNTIL THE SEASON WAS OVER TO COMPLAIN - FACT!  And yes, the highest scoring offense in the division is being held out of the playoffs.

Montour is most likely in AA if everything was done correctly.  The season plays out much differently.  JMO.

  3. To keep it from getting buried....

The student is a billeted player, unless a court-appointed guardianship is in place between the player and the hostfamily. This does not pertain to foreign students who have been approved by USA Hockey

Is the student a billet, living with somebody other than his parents out of state for the purposes of playing hockey? YES/NO

Did the student's parents sign over guardianship to the billet family? YES/NO

Did Montour submit the paperwork to have this student treated as an exception to the Athletic Intent rule? YES/NO

Did PIHL approve the exception paperwork? YES/NO

    Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Everyone just stop replying to "Yalldumb" it is clearly a young kid that lacks the basic skills of understanding what's right and what's wrong. He will continue to repeat himself even when people give him the perfect answer to his questions but because he doesn't understand or doesn't WANT to understand he just keeps arguing the same thing over and over again.

Add "Overqualified" to this list.  And all the other newcomers.

    Wait a second…

    the other goalie…

    .836 save percentage

gave up 4 goals each time he started vs Wheeling Park (who won zero total games)

played the majority of his games vs the bottom teams   Lost to QV 4-1 in his only start vs a team that made the playoffs

so, um, not really “pretty solid”

Well, I guess we will never know

I agree that the parents anger should be directed towards their own board.  However, I'd think that had they went through the process the player would have been told he had to sit out this year.  And then who knows where the team lands without him.

Ironically I bet they still make the playoffs.  The other goalie was pretty solid in a very competitive division.

  7. Ok.  Just so we don't lose sight of this

Can anybody in Montour confirm that this goalie does not fall into this category?

Expand on that.  I’m sure you think they brought  in a ringer,  recruited from out of state and on and on.  Big cheaters they are.  They had a frigging freshman goalie that wanted to have fun playing HS and meet kids that happen to be good and made some people butts hurt.

No need to.  As I've said previously, if you've done it by the rules good for you. If not reap what you sow.

See, you seem to mistake me for somebody who cares about which school makes it to the playoffs. All I care is that the rules are followed. Now if you guys come out smelling like roses on the other end of this you can come on this website and say told you so but I won't lose a minute of sleep. Because I don't care. All I care about is that the rules are followed and are appropriately applied.

From what I’ve heard the kid was 14 when he moved and beating 18 year olds. he was probably taking on a lot of stress and other things at the time. All he wanted to do was play hockey and now there’s a team who’s mad because they didn’t get into playoffs. And which the team is trying to take advantage of the commissioner who died who gave the goalie permission. Sad life to stop a 14 year old kid from playing the sport he loves, Wild.

Dude you can say it over and over and over.  You wont get sympathy on this board except from Hoxkeydad.  It sounds like you broke the rules.  Read the effin rules.  They are in place for a reason.  Done with you.

What it seems like to me is that the commissioner gave the goalie approval, then which he died and now Avonworth is trying to take advantage of his death and cheat there way into playoffs. ?

    Oh boy.  Here we go.

If your guys broke the rules or tried to pull a fast one, I hope you are disqualified from the playoffs. If everything is legit, I hope it’s all tossed out & your kids get to play.

    This.

The kid went 9-1.  Montour should probably not be playing A hockey with that kid.  If they did it legally, good for them, they are one of the favorites in A.  If not, they should garner no sympathy and do it correctly next year.
