I just came across this thread, and messaged someone at SHAHA about the lack of 08s and 09s at MidAm's this year.  Apparently the organization missed the deadline for nominations and the top 09 players never recieved the "invite email" from MidAm.  The story I was told by someone involved in those teams was that at least on the 09 side there were multiple familes who were not happy and had they been nominated they would have participated.  I'm speaking of the player referenced before as well as the teams 2nd leading scorer from the past season as well as their top defenseman.

Over half of the 08 SHAHA team was at Midams and ALL of them got cut.

    THIS Jaison Kelly?! 😂

Would almost have to be, I can't see there being many Jaison Kelly's around here with that name spelling.

If it is, the guys a stooge and a conman. If I was a player, I'd make sure to get my money upfront.

Same Jaison Kelly. Definitely something sketchy when he is involved.

Why do you say that nothing has changed over the years?

Your story happened a longggggg time ago. Not sure it's still relevant. You mention 3 PPE coaches as the only evaluators. That part has clearly changed. There were 7+ evaluators for 08s and 09s a few weekends ago. And so far no one has pointed out a single PPE coach that was there. There could've been one or two, I'm not sure. I know some of the PPE coaches in that bantam/midget age group, and none of them were there. I'm going to ask them how many PPE coaches (if any) were at tryouts a few weekends ago.

I think most of the people in this thread calling it a "sham" have been personally hurt by the process. It's not perfect, but from my experience over the past few years it's certainly a better process than many of the local Tier I and Tier II tryouts.

The negativity is just amazing. Everyone is a victim. Everyone has been screwed over by the system. I'm sure a lot of that has been passed down to the kids. What an exhausting outlook.

There were multiple PPE coaches there last weekend and even the coach of the 08/15u team. That's not weird at all🤔 but it may have been okay since he was relieved of his job the day the camp started.

Thanks for clarifying. I was under the impression the other one was injured, not suspended. I’ll trust your info over mine.

It was kind of a soft call and it's not even my team but that kid can definitely hit hard.

You can see their rosters on the website. They have more. They normally take somewhere between 15 and 18 skaters. I do know 14u had some injuries. I’m assuming 15u did too but I don’t have any first hand knowledge of that.

The 14's had 1 kid hurt all weekend and 1 suspended for the championship game. From the looks of it neither were a big help in the 6-4 loss from the week before when they both played.

Not to mention, an adult coach has no business snapchatting/texting children. Even if intentions aren't in appropriate, it's a terrible idea.

It was not the coach Snapchat or texting. He has talked to both parents about it. He just talked to the kid during the game making comments and after when he was leaving.

So far it has been all kids on Snapchat

Yeah, all your previous posts indicate that you felt bad for the kids.  Trying to recruit kids for what?  More garbage spewing while hiding behind a forum.  Happy to discuss.  Let me know the time and place. No anger- just want to see if someone will make these ridiculous comments face to face.  Easy to do from the shadows.

My previous posts have indicated that it was not the kids fault but the it was the fault of the coach and person/people who were supposed to fill the paperwork out and turn it in.

I saw the Snapchats first hand and have the screenshots.

Another teams coach isn't any better than the Montour coach. He has openly called a kid on another team his future superstar (during a game on a face-off)  and even offered to get him an address in said district.

  8. I felt bad for the kids until I found out that the billet family's kid is trying to recruit kids at games on Monday night at RMU and on Snapchat. They knew exactly what they were doing and apparently don't give a damn because the day their case was heard they were actively doing the same thing.

Not sure how this situation benefited QV. They did beat Indiana, but if they had been the fifth seed, they would’ve played Kiski, who Indiana just beat last week. And now Quaker Valley has to go on the road and play Fox Chapel, rather than  play North Hills on the ice surface where Quaker Valley practices twice a week.

Exactly, they just want to blame someone besides their own organization. The team that gained the most was McDowell in getting a first round bye and now a home game that no one wants to make that trip to Erie.

Same offer pucks11- happy to meet and discuss.  Also it’s now 4 times according to what you think.  Gets the facts straight. Our team manager DOES NOT file the paperwork.  Are you tooo tooo tooo stupid to understand that?  Nice emoji use- what are you 13?

Meet and discuss what exactly? You guys got caught cheating 3 times this season, the last one just happen to cost your Seniors their last chance at a Penguins cup. You want to change people's minds about your organization then BLAME THE PEOPLE THAT ARE IN CHARGE OF YOUR ORGANIZATION AND LET THESE THINGS HAPPEN.

BB should get an award for doing the RIGHT THING.

OK so can someone explain why Knoch would only have a JV team with that many Jrs & Srs? Blue Jackets pants thinks he's a whole lot better than he is. There is a reason he's no longer a Blue Jacket!

Pretty sure that if you don't have enough kids to field a Varsity and JV team you have to declare Varsity or JV before the season. QV only has 1 team but they decided to go Varsity. Knock was 12-4 in JV 2 and finished 3rd overall in the regular season. Could they have played Varsity 1 or D2 , possibly.

Did I blame Avonworth?  Again- know your facts before opening your trap.  Happy to have a discussion in person if you like.

Montour got caught cheating 3 times this year. Stop blaming everyone except for who is to blame and that is your coach. So what if BB turned your kid in, he followed the rules. If you don't like it fire your coach or the team manager that filed the paperwork. You are mad at someone that did what was right and not mad at the person that did something wrong ???. Do you hear yourself?

  13. The "brawl" on the ice lasted maybe 10sec and the BRAWL in the stands looks like a parent fell down the stands (because Frozen Pond doesn't have stairs in their bleachers) and someone got upset, yes there was a crowd around him but the 2 guys that jumped in actually helped the guy stand up and when he got up he raised his hand as a thank you and apology.

Why does everyone have to make stuff out to be bigger than it was.

I have seen "brawls" last longer at Mite games.
