they both just keep bringing up non topics. maybe they are the same person! king keeps talking about the governing bodies making anything below tier I not relevant. that’s not an issue here. And Danner has said ten times that none of us “get it”.  But neither offer anything substantive.

My question is why 18u “prep” will or could yield a different result than this year’s 18u model. i get that more money will go to all involved because of NC being mandatory but how else is the new team more attractive so that the good players will now want PE at 18u. I think PE offers great training, etc.  I’m just trying to see if anyone has information about what makes the new prep team different. thanks!

you and danner27 are really intense about youth hockey. can someone else answer my questions above (basically why the word prep or mandating NC changes anything)? what i know first hand is about how no decisions made by PPE have anything to do with NC or excel hockey players who do not play PPE or are not PPE caliber. I do not know the answer to the questions I posed. Anyone have insight on this other than King or Danner? They don’t provide information they just try to stir the pot!!! why are you two on here anyway since you don’t like what anyone else has to say!!! chill out a bit maybe???? Can someone else respond??

Danner wow! you are a spaz. I do get it - first hand by the way - and understand that 18u prep has nothing to do with NC hockey. but my questions above have in no way been answered in this thread. you seem to know everything about everything- so can you answer? please see my two posts above. 

and i get that some drafted players intend to stay back and play 18u next year rather than not getting much play team at juniors. things are changing and this is true for all high ranked 18u teams - not just PE. but wouldn’t these players still do so regardless of if the team is called prep?? why were they not able to get the good players last year (hence the low ranking) but be able to this year since it’s prep? same great rink and program last year.

can someone answer why making the team 18u “prep” rather than 18u will make the team better or more desireable for players? right now the 18u team plays the same prep teams as the 16u does. what will make the team different next year just because it’s called “prep”?  either way it just depends on the players the team gets. why will adding the word prep mean the team gets the better players?

why does making the team “prep” make any difference re: the kids who they get? this year’s 18u team plays against competitive teams and they r seen by scouts - but they still didn’t get top players. why will they get them just by calling the team “prep”?

division III is great. these comments are made by jealous people whose kids have never made the team. if your kid at 15 or 16 is good enough to maybe make it to tier i or ii juniors or play in college, and has the passion and determination, then pens elite is the ONLY place to play around here. period. and yes that means some sacrifices have to be made. 

actually most were scratching their heads as to why pens played in elite league for so long, not why they got out. they were forced to play low level games all last year. now out of that league and the compete level is spot on. 

NC varsity has nothing to do with ppe prep which will be playing prep/AAA teams from across the country- not local high schools. 

PPE picks up the local players who are good enough. It’s not that PPE doesn’t want Pittsburgh kids it’s that they already have for the most part the local elite players. The others usually end up on the faux teams and are getting nowhere on a low ranked team. first, those programs don’t provide the training or the coaching like PPE. and second the scouts aren’t flocking at tournaments with “AAA” teams ranked 68 and 95 playing each other.  RegDunlop7 is pretty much spot on.

As does EVERY other top 10 team - or they wouldn’t be top 10.  The top teams at PE have more locals than most top teams. 

Strike that, I see Bethel is doing well but not upper st. clair

Surprised bethel and USC didn’t do better in this tournament. USC moved up to AAA but think they will be competitive

I agree Whome87 sure is at ice castle a lot bashing all of the teams except for the one his kid plays for. He even watched tryouts there!  He’s giving false information thinking he’s throwing people off of who he is. Its quite obvious - his jealousy of PPE is actually humorous. What an axe to grind!! Calling out the kids who didn’t score at 16u tier 1 nationals in another thread. And now trying to say that team only won because of two kids. Do you have any idea how hard those kids work? No you don’t. Let your PPE anger go, leave the 04 Preds alone and get a life!

If someone else was spending money on private lessons for club hockey it would be such a “money grab”!
