  1. I can only speak for myself and the relationship i have with my son. From the time he played ‘in house’ to now when he plays Varsity, we promised each other the same thing: I won’t ever embarrass him by my conduct in the stands and he won’t ever embarrass me by his conduct on the ice.

N=1, but it has worked for us so far. He deserves better than seeing his Dad acting like an ass when he just wants to play.

    THE PENGUINS RECEIVED A GRANT

"Placing a rink in the Armory would not only allow for new and cost-free athletic opportunities for city youth but follow the wishes of Shadyside neighbors who have long called for public skating in this historic and underused building. I'm happy these long-delayed plans are finally coming together," Mayor William Peduto said.

So does this mean that other local rinks will now be providing a cost-free athletic program?

Those that are not city youth would pay?

  3. I try to look at the long game if I can, not always able but I try.

My kid got into hockey because he learned to skate early and it just seemed normal to progress to playing.  He had the usual little kid dreams of making it in The Chel and skating the cup. He never placed higher than A Major Black but enjoyed every season and made a lot of friends along the way.

Second Bantam year he decided he wanted to take hard courses and make good grades so he now only plays for his school.

A whole lot of kids of his generation are gonna make some really good coaches in a few years when they finish college and have players of their own. Perhaps that is the long term effect of PPE and all of the other orgs around here. More kids that played the game pretty well and can then pass it along to their own kids. Better coaches, better development, maybe that is the win that is gonna come.

Cardinal Wuerl. Catholic Diocese. Bishop Zubik. You get the idea.

So the problem lies with the Catholic influence over the school and not through Excel or Pens Elite?

I read the reports regarding misconduct and saw the public responses leading up to the renaming of the school. Personally I believe the misconduct goes deeper than anyone fears, but that is a discussion for somewhere other than a Hockey Board.

You can get them at Med Express, they’re pretty available I’d say. I do recall hearing that they’re a little less accurate than the standard test that takes a couple days for results.

Hasn’t that been part of the discussion from both sides? If the sensitivity or specificity of a test is in question then it is not a far stretch to question the public policies those tests are based upon.

Confess? He will double-down. That's the tone that has been set by his cult leader. Never confess, never apologize & accuse others of what you are guilty of.

Just gotta ask for added clarity.

Cult leader; is that the Democrat Party cult leader or the Republican Party cult leader.

There is no point in trying to prove what is fact to those that choose live in the alternate reality. Too many people simply get there news from places that gone over the edge of crazy. The political figures that they worship reinforce these beliefs under the disguise that they are their liberators. They are simply cult leaders and enablers that believe it is in their self-interest to deceive the weak-minded. History will not be kind to them in the long run. I had a couple hockey parents tell me that this Covid hysteria would be over on November 4th. I probably could never prove to them that Covid is still here even if I took them on a tour through the stretched & overrun hospitals in the mid-west, Thank goodness they are still thoroughly outnumbered by the people that have the ability to understand logic & facts,

Trying to figure out if you’re referring to the cult leaders in the Republican Party or the cult leaders in the Democrat Party.

I don't know but this just came out.

Indoor sports like ice hockey are high-risk activities for the spread of COVID-19, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The conclusions about such sports were contained in a section of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report posted online Thursday.

    Nice graph.

Definitely not coming after you.  I bet you had to be really frustrated with that.  I know I will be if I have to wait out in the parking lot tomorrow with no live barn. I keep telling myself it's about the kids and then I keep getting mad at Wolf who could have done this 2 or 3 months ago, but wanted to flex his muscles.  Thanks for the input.

You’re right, it was a bit frustrating. But in the end, my kid is playing hockey. We are all hoping for a different brand or style and it should happen Friday. It’s not about me.

Too many games to reschedule?  Too much money to be lost by not playing Thursday games. What happens if both teams don't show up Thursday?  Why the arbitrary goes into effect on Friday? Oh because the Governor picked that day. Makes sense to me.  Did you get to watch your kid's game on live barn? Did you sit out in the parking lot and wait? I just sure hope everyone remembers this if Mr Wolf ever decides to run for another office. He obviously has no clue and sure doesn't think things through.

Not sure if you’re coming at me or not but okay.

    LiveBarn was down.

Stood in parking lot with other parents.

  11. So, like them or not, believe them or not, PIHL has a mandate from MidAM and USAH  to completely follow the regulations in effect where the specific games are played or risk the games being played non sanctioned.
I wanted to watch my kid’s game earlier this week and hope to watch the game next week, but the Governor has said Friday at 1201. Don’t think that is gonna change. And I don’t think wanting or wishing it to go away will do much good.
