As I understand, it was two 06 forwards and two 06 defensemen on the “05 BY” team.
-
NP had it set up for the 05 to be BY and the 06 to be BY. It was that way until the third night of try outs when it was rumored that the 05 team would be mixed.
I have no insight to the how or why.

The Bantam birth year team at NP is a good group hockey players. Will be interested in where they play and how they do.

Was there for playoffs last year. Has come a long way no matter what you call it.

My son has skated with Marc in the past. Wondering what stigma I missed.
He is an awesome skating instructor.

The official word is that there will be a Varsity team at North Catholic next season. Best of luck to the boys.
The Middle School program continues to grow and is a few skaters short of fielding two teams.

Just heard that offers went out for roster spots and, if all accept, there will be a Varsity team this year.
Offers went out for Middle School as well.

I heard that NC will be fielding a Varsity team in the fall. Congrats to the school and to the program. I don't know if they have enough players for both a JV and a Varsity but it is good to see local school hockey growing in western PA, especially with a program that is going on its 4th year and was dormant for so long.
I had not heard about the final configuration of a Varsity and JV program. I was told there was the highest number of Middle School players registered for try outs than the previous three years.

Hearing rumblings that North Catholic is bagging its "grass roots" program where they developed kids from their middle school team and are moving toward utilizing the Excel players. To the extent that they will only field a varsity team next year. Many players and parents upset over this as kids who began as middle schoolers are being sat out of games to make room for the Excel superstars.
I am sure this is not how the program was set up to be run when it was resurrected.
Maybe the PIHL will step in and not allow this type of situation.
North Catholic finished try outs this past weekend and while I could not see everything on the ice the entire time, I was not able to see that group of “ Excel superstars” anywhere. Maybe I just missed them.
Perhaps they will show up for the games.

How long ago did SHAHA’s house become a single sheet? It has been one sheet since my kid started playing.

Congratulations.

Merely my voice and my opinion but.....
It is a slippery slope when a public forum starts blocking an IP address of a user.
I have been publicly flamed by Wampa before and I learned from it. Say my piece, defend with data, ignore him otherwise.
If you take the time and read his posts ( from all of his identities) you will see that he goes from 0 to 100 with no room or time between. But if you also read his posts, there is valid information buried in with the responses.

Have heard same rumors as well as rumors of one more at Baierl. Nothing more than rumors as far as I know.

Never a fan of Steve Emmett's work. He was at SHAHA years ago and while he set up good drills, he just had kids go through the motions and not make individual critiques or corrections with skaters. Even in groups, Marianne and Barb take kids aside and personally instruct them in group settings to give it that personal touch.
Honestly and sincerely, thank you Popcorn. That was a personal critique of another person’s work.
Probably what the original poster is looking for after all.

Commenter warned.
Have had my son skate with Steve for 4 years. Every other week, weekends on occasion, sessions always well attended by many levels of skaters. Junior hockey, AAA High School, Tier 1, all the way to squirts.
Clearly we cant “ unring the bell” from the above post, but I have never heard of any of the behavior described above. Steve was not thrown out of Baierl, his banner is still on the wall. Will not go into any thoughts regarding his absence over this past winter; perhaps contacting him directly at the address or phone number provided above would get an answer. He is scheduled to be back at Baierl in May for a weekend clinic, come see for yourself and ask him then. The original post asked for recommendations not unfounded scandalous accusations.

It’s not lies at all. I witnessed with my own eyes a player I know in uniform for a D2 team playing in another players jersey. I’m sure more people have seen this as well. It’s a flawed concept. Especially when you leave the development of programs up to people that have no idea what they’re doing and will always seem the easy way. That’s the WPA way.
Seems to me that all of the back and forth and name calling pales when you consider what Wampa said in this post.
A player known to him actually played a game in a different player’s jersey. That ends the debate.

It doesn’t take a lot of effort to see that a dad is being honest about his son, his try outs, and the results. Over and above all of the other white noise generated by this forum, I find it refreshing.
Congrats. To the player AND his dad. He might not have made the team he tried out for, but I’ll bet he is a better player for the effort put forth.

This has nothing to do with the MS team, JV team or future Varsity team(s). It simply means that you can participate in Academy and not play for PPE. If you want your Gold bucket, you had better pony up for the Academy.
Let's try it another way, it's hockey's version of Scientology.
Very nice analogy!

First I am a Millennial (1981-1996), not even close.
Now I’m a weasel.
I agree there are heated emotions at youth hockey games. Never been me. Look elsewhere for your vitriol and ad hominem attacks. Not me bro.

Original text of the law.
You got me. Probably should not have clipped that quote. Guilty.
But after reading the text of the law, not sure that a first degree misdemeanor lives up to the destroying of a family that one user dreams of. It remains troubling to me that there is a law in place to begin with, and that someone dreams of a family being destroyed.
Millenial? Now that’s funny.
As for me, I will continue to do what I always do; stand either between the opposing sides of bleachers or at either end of the ice, hands in pockets, watching the game. Will continue to keep my mouth shut and watch the lunatics in the stands.

“......I dream of the day a family is destroyed.......”

Thank you for your answer to the original question.

I admit, I find the original question interesting and wonder that myself. Sadly, I have no idea as to the answer, but will eagerly look for answers to that original question.
