I think 5-6 players sold sponsors and they were to get $500 for each sponsor sold. So he should have handed out $2500 -$3000 to the players.

Well I can now say he for sure has not paid the players the $500 they were supposed to get if they sold a sponsor.

Exactly what I said earlier. Nobody was traveling to Pittsburgh or bringing a good squad. Closest game we won by 5 goals at home. Why should we travel and put on a good show for them if nobody wanted to travel to us.

There was a time when the team was actually good and could compete. had 3 ex Fed players 3 ex D1 Club players 5 ex D3 club players and couple ex USPHL players. but again that’s when everyone would show up. Last game we had that was the regular season home opener against Niagara and the home game against Toledo.

I agree, I liked the Coach before. I wouldn’t say he had a winning record cause he went 4-3 or 4-4. But still he was a players coach. Honestly not that hard to coach this league. Not a knock at him. That coach and our captain held that team together. Our captain then had to deal with everything our owner did after that coach left.

We only paid $350 to play organized hockey and play 20 games. A tad bit more then playing 2 “sessions” of 10 adult league games. The league promised to have the players paid. No team in the league were paying players. We actually could have been paid but then we would have had to pay for practice and travel on our own. The players elected to not get paid and have everything else paid for (practices and travel, hotels) At the end of every game we really only made $1000 profit after paying for the ice, refs, EMTs, security, etc. That profit paid for the travel expenses mostly.

Ice time was paid. Yes we are all aware it was late a time or two but honestly what organization hasn’t been late. But it was paid for. Not dying on the sword pal, just explaining to everyone the story. I already had told everyone in this thread that nobody trusted our owner. We all saw the news. We all have phones. People talk. I’m just stating the story of the season. It was more so the league then the Owner.

We knew it was a long shot. Trust me. We had some good guys who’ve played way better hockey than this. Couple of Fed and NCAA D3 and ACHA D1 - D3 guys that made up the core. We knew we all had work Monday morning. It more so was the travel being 7-8 hours for one game. At least make it a weekend series. That was the problem. Nobody wanted to hike 8 hours play a game then hike another 8 back home. But we had the core group of guys always travel. It was the guys that never really fully committed that cause the problem at the end. More of a question of “do I want to play this weekend” instead of “I have a game this weekend” nobody was committed.

The coach was causing 10 players to want to quit especially after the last game he coached. We wouldn’t have had a team if he stayed regardless. This came down to it being a terrible schedule. And the league never listened to any of the players. We had concerns that nobody ever addressed.

Unfortunately, the players would have all quit if they had to continue playing for the old coach. We were left with very little choices on who to pick. Nobody was really lining up to coach this team or be involved in the league in its first year. Can’t blame anyone for that. Only choice we had was a players father. Like I said. The league continued to look like a joke and guys were embarrassed to be a part of a league who continued to have games cancelled and teams drop out. What’s the point of playing these games when nobody bothered to send a decent squad to us.

Also got to the point that a lot of guys were just embarrassed to play in this league and didn’t want any part of it anymore. our last home game north shore sent 4 original rostered players on their team. The rest was made up of adult league players who were playing in the UPMC Lemieux classic down the road. They used adult league players from the town to fill in for the game. It was just a joke at that point. Teams didn’t want to show up for us so why should we show up for them.
