Get the fuck out of here with your morally superior bullshit! FAR MORE times have kids and families been screwed over and lied to by these organizations and the scum bag coaches that they chose to run their teams! Kids and families are routinely held hostage to these terrible people over their “commitment”. Countless kids ride the bench and get treated like shit at the hands of these money hungry or WIN driven coaches and organizations! Pathetically, it’s not just at the tier 1 level either!

There is zero loyalty from organizations as they shamelessly take thousands of dollars out of the hands of families. Families who are paying for a service, for their sons or daughters to be taught the game of hockey and more importantly to be treated with respect!

Shut the fuck up and go ahead and be proud of yourself and your family values. But don’t sit here and project your bullshit onto other people for doing what’s best for their family too! Asshole

I'm going to give this props before it gets removed.

  2. So PPE goes 1/4 in a District as weak as MidAm is? In a District where they have done everything that they can to eliminate any and all possible competition?

This is an organization that, and I quote they themselves "has the best coaches, the best facilities and the best players". If this is true, this can only be construed as one thing. A colossal failure at their home rink.

  3. At the start of the season, the Preds "AA" team #1 parents were on here letting everyone know that they were better than the "AAA" team that folded before season's end. Now this happens and I guess it means that the AA #2 team was the best of the 3?

I believe that if you use the transitive property  AA#2>AA#1 and AA#1>AAA then AA#2>AAA this is confirmed.

It certainly does not lend much credibility to the tryout evaluators and/or process out there at Ice Castle.

  4. The Vengeance gets ridiculed on here despite the fact that they have opted out of the Midget "money grab" and are focusing on youth teams instead. Now, we all know the likelihood of these teams staying together is slim for a variety of reasons, but which method will not get crucified on here?

I ask because the Preds are getting ridiculed for their "money grab" but people also think that they are/should be a legitimate option.

As for SHAHA forming a 15U AAA team with a core of 05 PPE Black players - that would simply be absurd and definitely not AAA. I'm not even sure that there is enough ice there to facilitate it. And even if there is, for how long......................?

Esmark and PPE are the top 2 choices right now but they both have warts as well.

Maybe the best move for players is the Prep School route. Culver, Gilmour and Shadyside are all in the MidAm District and there are plenty of choices in New England

Coach was an original player on first ever Pittsburgh Hornets AAA travel team years ago that was part of the Mt. Lebanon Hornets program.

And if I'm not mistaken that's because he couldn't make the Jr Penguins at that time. You see how all of this works? It's full circle.

Last year the 04 team went to AAA

Did the MidAm rule regarding a 3 year waiting period before an organization could play in Districts just disappear or was there some sort of "Special Dispensation" applied to this team through the back channels of MidAm/USA Hockey? Curious, is it not?

  7. So, if you are a family that is currently a part of the 09 Black team, I wonder what thoughts are going through your mind? Seems like a lame-duck sort of proposition for 2020-21 and even if you do decide to continue on, you can't be certain that the tryout fallout won't produce the same type of mess as they encountered at 07 Black last year. Tough situation to be in for an 11 year old kid who just wants to play hockey.

telling everyone they play for the Penguins.

And therein may lie the biggest problem with Pittsburgh youth hockey. What percentage of parents at PPE actually do believe that they are currently in some sort of minor league system that will lead them straight to the NHL Penguins. I'm not talking about the kids (although they probably have a better grasp of reality) I'm talking about the parents. I'm going to give my guess by age group.

    Little 66ers - 90-95% - I will follow your every instruction

10U - 85-90% - It costs how much? No problem, it will be worth every penny

    12U - 80% - Wait, my little superstar isn't on the 1st line

    14U - 70% - You're bringing in players from where

    15U - 60% - But we've been playing here for 8 years

    16U - 50% - I guess not everyone makes the grade

18U - <25% - Reality finally sets in and holy s*** there's no money left for college

  9. I just can't see them giving up the income of players not attending NC. It's not in their MO. The other intriguing question will be this, "how will this team travel to their events"? Teams like Gilmour and Shady Side and I assume the vast majority of the NE Prep Schools get on a bus and mommy and daddy have to let go of their little babies. Will this team bus to away events or will they require parental transportation?
