You seem surprised.
That in and of itself is surprising.

I'll start the festivities.
Icemen 18U "AAA"
Currently tied for 15th in the Mid-Am District Tier 2 rankings.

Bank on it.
I'd like to bank against it. 15 games under would require a 2-17-1 record.
What's the limit and what's the vig? Standard 10%?
I get both 2nd teams, right? Put me down for a 1100 to win a dime.
-
And FC in AA?
Someone has good stuff.

Cancel the season.
Hand them the trophy now.

Up where? The same place your head is?
If you're referring to the Event schedule, I think that's a moot point.
I think folks are likely looking for the regular season schedule considering the start date is roughly ten days out.

I think it's going to be a difficult year for the whole league.
I know there has been a lot of turnover, but it just illustrates how organized, detailed, invested but most of all, under-appreciated Mr. John Mucha was in this role.

Or is there a maintenance reason it's down to one?
This.
And the prognosis is apparently not great. Possibly another month or more.

That's a first for them. Since their inception, they had only ever been known as the final home for malcontents. Now, the malcontents are so many they just migrate from place to place like the Nomads.

Supposedly PIA still only has one sheet running currently. So, it's Esmark, Huskies, School teams and whatever else they offer.

Huskies = 3 teams

whoever goes to Nationals not get their clocks cleaned.
Correct me here if I'm mistaken but wasn't there a local team that won 16U AA Nationals 2 years ago? And not the little 1A or 2A, the Big Boy division.

They have the concrete slab poured and it’s curing.
Isn't this like a 60-90 day process to cure? Are the boards and benches up?

I doubt there's anywhere near enough money involved for BB to be a part of it in any form other than selling them ice. As Zam said, who will the fans be and how much could you possibly charge for entry? Financial viability seems limited at best.

picked up a few Esmark kids from last year's 15U team who just wanted a change
Probably wanted a change from the two dad's who run the team.

Plausible, but Censor pucks apparently doesn't think so.
-
Seems as though Pucks wants to keep the answer under wraps so his team doesn't disintegrate?

it makes sense that they aren't as interested in the property.
Am I missing something here? Doesn't the recent article imply that they are very interested? At least invested enough to consider buying it. The tax shelter thing seems about right though.
There ain't no place other than DC and NYC, that's seen more quid pro quo over the years than Allegheny County/City of Pittsburgh.

Couple of items here.
I think the same architect's rendering was used from the get-go and it looks nothing like what it did in reality.
There's a reason myself and many others played street hockey on any available surface we could. It just wasn't in our parent's budgetary means so the question is this, wyhat happens when the free stuff runs out? Unfortunately, despite programs such as this the reality is that ice hockey is and will be an affluent sport.

So the fleecing of many local amateur hockey associations has finally come to an end. That's great news and it just shows that being a complete hypocrite actually does come back to bite you in the arse. Gotta love Karma, still undefeated.

Did they play in the AHL parity weekend? Maybe they fared poorly enough that they folded it up? (Yeah, right. Like they'd pass up the easy $$$)
On another note, the 18 Icemen played in the parity weekend and went without a goal scored in 4 games. Shorter games, but still scoreless. Good luck.

Of course they did. That school is the destination for all of Yuri's recruits.
