  1. Here we go..... get AG Garland back on the horn.

HSFBLJ - it's not an argument when it's factual.

There are many things nowadays such as conjecture, narrative and political spin but the best thing out there are still the facts. He posted facts and it's out of bounds?

    Controversial, maybe........

  2. It depends on your geographic parameters. What defines the 79 corridor? You reference SV High School which is convenient to your argument as it sits a mere what quarter mile off the highway? SV is a huge district not only in population but also square mileage. I'd be willing to bet that some SV students have a 20 minute drive to the HS from home. Are they in the 79 Corridor?

And in the South Hills, how far east are you going, TJ? Because once you get east of Rt88 it's all backroads to Printscape.

It's probably all a moot point. If Printscape hasn't ordered all the equipment like months ago, good luck getting ice in 2023.

  3. https://www.midamhockey.com/page/show/5022993-board-contacts

Here are the board members and their contacts. Of course there are like 9 DEI administrators but where are the the player development people? Everyone should take the time to contact some of them although don't hold your breath waiting for a response. They are only active when suspending players and Coaches.

MidAm somehow is actually worse than DC when it comes to being a swamp. Switaj has been the Coach in Chief for at least 25 years.

The top 3 lines of members probably have a combined tenure of over 200 years and with what to show for it?

Add in Switaj, Santora, Colligan and Borkowski and you have 3 Centuries of failures. The problem is, they don't hold open and public elections. 5-6 people control EVERYTHING that happens and will continue to until they are ousted.

A big reason for that is because guys do not have to wait 4-6 months for their game checks,

This is a fact. Dean, do you dispute this? And think about it, they sit on how much $$$$ for 3-5 months collecting interest

independent schedulers charge $0-$7 per game to schedule.

Dean, another fact. Do you dispute it?

PIHO is charging organizations around $20+, per game,

This is.... actually incorrect as it is $20+, per game/per official but still based in fact

So Dean, you say 70% of that post is not factual when it appears the only thing factual that is in dispute is when, where and how much the evaluators get paid to "evaluate".

Now that's a pretty simple equation of 3/4 are factual or 75% and 25% are in question.

The reason the organizations "re-up" is because they aren't educated. I'll bet this causes some to give it more in-depth consideration and as someone else stated, yes this was a hostile takeover of WPHOA. Fact!!

t's true that a non-profit is not "owned" by anyone or any company. They are governed by a board of directors. The board of directors could be employees of Black Bear, but that doesn't mean Black Bear owns the non-profit. My guess is that this is what Black Bear does. It's common control but not ownership.

Sort of like the Giant Entity named UPMC being a "non-profit" and paying their hospital workers a pittance so they can make billions?

We're not far away from an AHF "west" division. As Black Bear starts gathering teams for this new division, travel won't be as bad. Plus, the AHF plays an unbalanced schedule that factors in travel.

But you're right, at first the travel will be ridiculous, but once the "west" division is built out (will happen fast) the travel will be much lest.

You almost appear to have a quietly vested interest in this AHF takeover.

Competition is good, but monopolies are not.

Just the way the PPE arrival made the sport far more cut throat and created crazier parents so too will this at the Tier 2 level.

  7. At some point, doesn't it become a violation of anti-trust laws? Not that any politicians anywhere would give two shits since it doesn't help or hinder them to line their own pockets but what an f'd up situation. NHAHA if I'm not mistaken is one of if not the longest existing local organization.

And of course you knew the cockroaches would survive, they always have.

  8. Wow!!! That dude didn't even last as long as Liz Truss.

Pucks, not sure if it was your doing solely, but Kudos for doing your part.

Black Bear AAA team couldn't set up practice ice slots at Southpoint/Delmont/PIA/Youngstown/Rostraver on a consistent basis and just play home games at one rink.

Here's a link to google maps since you are either not from Pittsburgh or failed geography miserably.

Let's say I live in Peter's Twp and have a player on the 2010 Rebellion. Next year, BB takes this model and runs with it. I'm thrilled for the opportunity for my kid so close to home. Except, I find out that the 2010 team will practice one day a week at Palmer and one at PIA but the great news is that they'll play 15 games at Printscape!! Which is about the same number of home games every PAHL team plays.

Sounds like a good plan to me!

And for you, living in Penn Trafford. You get to practice one night at Palmer, but the other night at Youngstown and.......... oh, by the way all of your games are at Printscape.

Palmer to Deep Freeze is under 80 miles one way and won't cost you much in TP tolls as long as you have an EZ Pass.

Seems like Black Bear just keeps acquiring other rinks instead of investing in their current properties.

    This ^^^^^

I say the only way they add it is for the main tenants to:

    A) Help finance the initial capital investment and

    B) Have contracts signed that go out far enough to cover the remaining debt and provide profit

It's my understanding that their preferred MO for acquiring facilities is for the owners to basically hold the note and get yearly payments plus a percentage of the "annual profits" which if the property doesn't "show a profit" then no percentage.

You get the best of the south hills kids from SHAHA, Preds, Lebo, South PGH, and the insane ones that are driving to New Ken and Alpha 3-4 times per week

Would you get the best kids?

Or would you get the ones whom are willing to pay for all "the extra" like the Coaches personal gym and/or private lessons?
