I don’t consider this thread overly offensive but the fact there was no ejections is worrisome considering the players, coaches and spectator behavior

That's a terrible idea.
It’d be an interesting experience. Players have no respect with each other out there now. No control of their sticks, their hands and elbows when they hit etc. watch any game. Like I said, I’m in a minority and due to insurance it’s never be allowed to happen. But remember, even youth hockey didn’t have masks pre-80’s in most areas. They survived.

I’m surprised there weren’t any ejections. I’m sure if someone wanted to up the ante they could send it in to pahl for review. Started off kinda innocuous enough.
Personally I think you take the cages off these kids and they stop becoming “Superman” but of course I’m in a minority.

I just wanted to read a story about it, that's all. I haven't seen any public story but I have overheard AHA parents discussing it.
I did see a Facebook post from the center Ice page I believe; so it’s Facebook official ??♂️

I’m not familiar with the program. Obviously Yuri and Posey have experience, coach(Ed) at high levels and reputations on this board. Neither I know personally.
Like anything else, it is a business. If your kid wants to play and you have the money to afford it, go for it. Keep your expectations low and you won’t be disappointed. (Also same advice for regular season hockey.)

A ~3 “goal” MHR difference between #5 to #60 is a lot closer than most PAHL divisions.

If you’re talking about the open-invite camps, they are a good opportunity to skate with some strong players. Take it for what it is. It’d take a Herculean effort for much more than that to come of it as players they are interested in go to the invite only camp. But I’ve known and had quite a few high end players go to it for the experience and they appreciated it.

Was at Baierl today. Someone called Covid enforcement and they came. Talked to them on the way in when they asked me about what was going on inside. No idea what the outcome of that is but everyone was minding their p’s and q’s so idk what the problem was.

Had the call with MidAm last night. They aren't changing the date of the MidAms...
Then got an email from Darcee and the PAHL- they aren't changing their playoff dates either.
So good luck to all of you rescheduling your games at the AA level.
We have 16 games to play between now and 2/22, and 6 to reschedule.
A big thank you to these entrenched orgs.
Is the requirement still 10 games to qualify? Just wondering if they wouldn’t try to minimize that requirement or if that is the justification?

Wow just looked at MidAm website. Nationals scheduled for April 29 to May 3rd! That's a big break if Districts are even the first weekend of March.
Idk which I’m more shocked about. The above or the fact they actually updated their website.

Is your employer someone special who knows the Governor and Health Secretary? We only thought people were mad about these restrictions. It will be a lot worse if it continues!
There’s been more than a few entities out there who have gotten heads up before the rest. The latest I’ve heard is that Jan 15 would be the reopening with very strict control eg (25 people again).

Why make those types of changes? I really don't like those first 2 rule changes. Can someone explain the logic behind those changes? Certainly does not speed up the game.
I wonder if they’re still clinging to the belief that it makes players more creative and better puck handlers.

This question could extend well past UPMC.

Yes, sports could be part of the decision. But, if you choose your school using sports as your priority, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. What happens when you get hurt, get cut, the school drops the sport, or there is a pandemic. Every college coach that is worth their job will tell you the same thing.
All roads lead to men's league.
Especially making decisions based on acha hockey.

They might be down on enrollment but they’ll make up the deficit through the taxpayer. SRU is not a private institution.

There’s been virtually no decline in cases or hospitalizations in the past week that isn’t coordinated with a similar decline in the amount of tests given. I don’t see how the restrictions are lifted in anyway in January.

My God am I tired of this being an excuse. Refs make mistakes. I get it. Arguing off sides and minor penalties is absolutely stupid at any youth level and coaches, players and spectators should be dealt with accordingly.
This though just set a bad precedent all the way around. I’m absolutely not absolving the behavior of the players, coaches and fans. But once you let it slide it just reinforces that it’s not that bad to do. Personally I don’t think the officials are nearly strict enough around here.
