Remove the politics from all of this, are we starting to reach a point of diminishing returns by closing down sports and recreation for so long be it physical and mental health along with developing healthier habits for life?
It’s not like the obesity or opioid or suicide epidemics vanished.

well, I am not that ignorant to know about secret handshakes/winks and having player names penciled in before tryouts. But heres the icing for the cake. This Tier 1 team in OH have their tryouts scheduled in mid July (as posted on their website), but then there's a player who already posted about being on the team today (June 29th). For the rest of of us who didn't receive the contracts, we should just stay home and save the $110?
Tryouts are a moderate to major money generator for many organizations. IMHO yes. Invest it in a 529 account. You’ll get a better ROI.

For the life of me, I can’t comprehend why you’d want your kid out there getting clowned at a higher level than they belong. But the egos feed the beast.

Mid Am District COVID-19 Policy Update:
Given the current governmental orders in place within the boundaries of the Mid Am District, the Mid Am Board has chosen to extend the current suspension of any USA Hockey sanctioned activity from May 15, 2020 to June 15, 2020. It is the Board’s intention that this policy will not be extended beyond June 15 unless new and exceptional circumstances arise and are communicated by a governmental authority. Above will be in effect unless individual states within the Mid Am District issue a return to play order prior to June 15, 2020.
Everyone must continue to comply with the policy of their state with respect to group activities, youth sports, and rink openings.
All changes will be posted to our website.
Any questions may be sent to our administrator at: administrator@midamhockey.com
Questions will be forwarded to a board member for response.
Not sure what jurisdiction they have over rinks unless it’s for insurance?

They won’t make a decision like that as they know they would have rogue operations popping up before the email makes the delivered sound. They will let the states, governors be the bad guy.
Doubtful. USA Hockey is on track to shut it down. They’ll continue to take money for registrations and background checks though.

USA Hockey is so risk adverse that I’d be shocked if there is hockey for 20-21.

That’ll be the end of that rink if it gets utilized.

And what's wrong with playing for Slippery Rock or Pitt or RMU or IUP or other top 30 ACHA Programs ?
Last time I checked playing Division III does not include paying A LOT of money just to go to school including hockey
Nothing at all. What is wrong is being so cutthroat about all of this. My point is in the end, what does it get you?
-
Funny. All this just to have your kid pay to play club hockey for Slippery Rock.

Where most local teams are just getting started, the Armstrong Arrows 16u squad has reported no less than 10 (ten) games before the end of the first week of September.
At this rate, these kids are on pace to have 50 games in by Christmas and stand a real chance at hitting 80 by the end of the season, maybe 90 with a deep playoff run. They're true Grinders, I tell ya!
Class act beating a team 20-2.

It may have but it’s a valid question. If this guy has no skin in the game, then why the aggressive interest and calling people morons?

No. My sons quit playing a few years ago. Neither played for the Arrows. Are you the moron?
Then why are you so balls deep involved then?

Amazing how one small group of people that do not have the organizations best interest in mind can bring the whole thing crashing down. The rink is in serious jeopardy now. There are almost no kids at the 16U and 18U levels. I am not sure how healthy the lower levels are either. The moron from Johnstown is gone, but it looks like he managed to bury another rink, just like he buried Planet Ice in Johnstown. Both Mid-State Mustangs and Trackers have low numbers from what I understand. Wish I could put names on here. The idiots on the boards should be called out for their incompetence. I also do not think that the moron from Johnstown resigned, I heard he was fired. I heard some scary stories about things he was doing.

They’re down to one full season team (12u) and are scrambling to put together a couple teams to enter in a few tournaments.
