Wow, so negative once again!  It's the best we have.  Move to Minnesota if you are not happy with what we have.  I see a lot of kids playing as hard as they can in this club sport and their championship means as much to them as the one that is won in Minnesota.

I’m not being negative. Just responding to the comment that “this is a serious game!” *cue slapshot forfeit victory*

Its totally fine for what we have in the area. People just try to make far too much out of it and turn it into win or die hockey.

yeah but it's kind of important for people especially those with upcoming 6th graders to know two things.

    1. properly structured, MS & JV are prep for varsity.

    2. PIHL hockey is not house/rec hockey and winning starts to matter.

PIHL is the definition of rec hockey. It’s a club sport league that is not acknowledged by their host schools with co-op teams and made up classifications. This isn’t Minnesota.

I have no idea what the OP means by “running lines”.

Of course racism is just plain wrong in any setting. But I 'm not sure of what you are saying about your friends list! What does that mean.  I'm glad you posted it just to show that there are still ignorant people in the world that are teaching their children to be racist.  Maybe in your son's children's lifetimes there will be no racism. We can only hope and pray.

Sorry for lack of fidelity. I was sharing someone else’s post from FB. Not my team nor organization. Just the current state of affairs in hockey in 2022.

The problem is PAHL teams get tired of playing the teams in AA that don't belong.  If all the wanna be AAA and independent teams just played AA PAHL and you lose the bottom couple teams PAHL would be a lot more competitive.

Unfortunately aforementioned teams exist purely to not intermingle with unwashed masses in AA.

  5. Being that it’s club hockey (albeit extremely competitive teams) I don’t see the need to force playing juniors of some level.  The ultimate goal here is to find a place that offers the education you need/want.

If you were trying to go NCAA and possibly beyond, then I’d consider a legitimate junior program.  Consider…

Meaning Pens right? Seriously this brings us back to the circle arguments about what is "real" AAA

Idk these programs well enough honestly to say what is real and what isn’t. But legit programs tend to have a history of having kids move on the better programs along with are actively scouted by them.

  7. Most of these local club teams would actually welcome you being proactive and letting them know you’re interested in playing at that level. There is no recruiting team or budget for them; so if you have a little bit of a playing resume you’ll be welcome. Some of them invite potential freshmen to skate with the team for a practice.

Things are a little different the NCAA route. You should have a pretty good idea by 15U whether your anywhere near the radar for those programs without paying for “placement” services. (eg already playing legit AAA and being top 1/2 to 1/3 of that lineup as well as developing to at least be able to go tier II junior).

  8. Unfortunately for many schools, HS hockey has turned into the modern day in-house. The prevalence of AAA and AA programs in the area is correlated to that. I’m not getting into the legitimacy of those AAA/AA teams, but you can’t play a 40-80 game schedule with 2-3 practices a week and then turn around and take seriously another 20 HS games.  It’s overload and why a lot of players either don’t bother playing HS or treat it like in-house.

Mars coach, Steve Meyers (Sutton), was a Slippery Rock Alumni from 2003-2006. Wasn't it YOUR class that started the hazing tradition at SRU 15-18 years ago?! I like how you deleted ALL of your posts on this thread LOL!

You FAILED protecting this young lady as a COACH! As you probably did 15-18 years ago as a SRU player. Take a good look in the mirror, the blame and guild lies with YOU, Sutton, you were there! Why didn't you do anything?! My friend, who will you blame when your team ends up 0-19 this season? Armstrong or PIHL? You got your name out there. Now it is time for you to RESIGN! You should be banned from hockey!
