Everything is cheaper than PPE. There is no discussion there. -
The Costs of AAA Hockey
Pucks11 replied to Lifelongbender's topic in Western Pennsylvania Youth Hockey
Why enter that tournament if you consider yourself a top team knowing those teams would be there??? So I am still waiting for you to hit me with some FACTS/FACT CHECKING that you have constantly claimed to do. You just keep yelling but haven't made a single point yet. 1 simple question and let's see if you can answer it without the Vengeance nuts in your mouth. What makes a AAA team, a AAA team??? The only team in Pittsburgh to play ALL AAA teams is the PPE but you consider them a AA team and they are ranked 16th. How many AAA teams are there in your eyes across the USA if the 16th ranked team is considered a AA team to you? -

So according to your standards if you play even just 1 AA team then you are not playing a AAA schedule. Therefore the Vengeance played Birmingham which is the 63rd ranked team and also a AA team eliminates the Vengeance from being a top team and shouldn't be considered a AAA team. The Pens have played all AAA teams so according to YOUR standards they should be considered the ONLY AAA around here then. So because I am listing FACTS while you just say nah uh the whole time I look foolish. I bet if the Vengeance told you to jump off a bridge you would just ask which one without questioning them. I bet your kid gets cut next season, you don't see the GOOD kids parents on here slurping down the Vengeance juices. Studying Pee-wee rankings?? It takes 2 min to look at the rankings???. -

Actually followed that pretty well and NONE of the teams listed 1 game, they all listed at least 2 games. But nice try, you can't even list facts when you read them yourself. Just stop trying, you look stupid. I like how you are deflecting away from the Vengeance when you have nothing else to swallow from their Kool-aid . But but but but the other teams are doing it too and they are in the top 5 just like we should be. -

2 teams below the top 25??? Valley Forge is 27th (3 games), Washington capitals are 31st(1 game), Victory Honda 51st (1 game) and Birmingham 63rd (1 game). That makes 6 games vs teams outside of the top 25. Seriously buddy it take 2 min to find these things out. Get the Vengeance D**k out of your mouth, especially when you have proven time and time again that you literally have no idea what you are talking about. The PPE have played a AA schedule yet they have more wins/ games played vs the top 50 than the Vengeance ???. So now you are changing your statement that the Vengeance have played a top 5 schedule to a top 10 schedule when 10 of their 15 games listed are vs teams 12th-63rd. ??? I need to get a better source when I am literally using the rankings and their schedule posted as FACTS ✔✔✔. You have done nothing but act like a toddler covering their ears saying I can't hear you because you don't want to listen to their parents. -

No beef I have said before that they are a great team but don't TALK about being a top 5 team unless you are going to prove it. What makes them a top 5 team if the record they show has them 0-4-1 against top 10 teams, 5-5-3 vs teams in the top 50??? The Pens are 14-4-5 vs top 50 teams so by your standards if the Vengeance are top 5 with 5-5-3 record vs top 50 then the Pens are easily top 3, right??? Mt Lebanon is 1-1-1 vs teams in the top 50 so they SHOULD be where in your eyes?? Esmark is 2-7 vs teams in the top 50 as a first year mutt team, where should they be?? Michigan and Illinois have 2 teams each ranked higher than the Vengeance and played just as many or more games. They don't seem to scared to list their games. ? I am merely stating FACTS while you just go off the rails. Just because you yell louder, it doesn't make you right. -

You guys have played 26 games vs teams in the top 10 but only 5 of the 15 games listed are vs top 10 teams and you are 0-4-1. So you have at least 21 games that are not listed vs teams in the top 10 plus others maybe. Don't talk about being in the top 5 if you are barely in the top 10. -

What class? There are still games that he didn't list and to answer your statement they went as far accusing one of the referees (who has 00 reasons to lie about it) of turning their losses in and were mad about it. There was no coming around to the Vengeance being the best local team at all I have stated that from the start. You have literally stated 0000000 facts. Go take another steroid shot buddy, we can see the veins popping out of your head. You sound like you were holding your weiner so hard waiting to post that class was closed so you could blast a load on your keyboard. -

You seem to be the one getting your panties up in a bunch, I am by no means worked up or upset. You tell me that you are fact checking my comments but you have done nothing of the sort. No one here denied the schedule of the Vendor that they are easily the top team in the area, I personally said it 3 times. You are very defensive ???. -

If you notice Moj made 3 comments to bring this subject up after months of being an inactive thread but thanks for trying buddy. Like I said this is supposed to be a DISCUSSION BOARD. That means I can have opinions on organizations without being a part of that organization. You know it's weird when you read up on organization websites and talk to different people at different organizations how much you can find out instead of drinking the Kool-aid and only having 1 opinion that is told the way you should feel. -

I know all of that, which is kind of why I asked why you are not posting the games. The Vengeance are easily the best 08 team so why hide games. Play the Pens and kick their ass. -

This is very true, there are many good 08. Probably the deepest year in/for awhile. -

If you go to their website you can see it without hearing about it. They are trying for an 07 and 06 also. Pittsburgh is getting watered-down. The Hornets are trying to make a few of their teams AAA also. -

Not at all but thank you for the concern and Esmark is way to far of a drive, Harmer would be my limit. I know Moj and most of the other parents personally so disgruntled, no. Just throwing out some facts that apparently ruffled some feathers again. You don't have to hate or play for a team to defend or give facts negative or positive about them. I even said that the Vengeance have a great team, easily the best 08 in the city. This is a discussion board, right? So instead of assuming something why don't you ask questions???????????? -

Didn't the 08 team just get pissed off because someone finally started reporting their losses to Myhockey and they dropped 8 spots. On top of that they a few more losses, ties and close games that are unreported ???. While they are a very good team they don't seem to be doing much better with their key acquisitions this season. They make fun of Pens and friends but the 08 team is pretty much their entire Mite team (Jets) from a few years back. I guess you could call them Jets and friends, kind of has the same ring to it. -
I agree with you about PIA, definitely not the best area but the PPE as an organization has changed for the worst over the last few years. They are very money hungry and that's it.
-
Again I have given FACTS with numbers and everything that you can even look it for yourself (it's free) while you and others have just say nope no way can't be. Keep drinking that Kool-aid. We took a few sips and ran away because it was sour.
-
Did you not read above where I said my kid played for the PPE (gold) and we LEFT as in didn't try out. Why is it a no brainer when no one has given anything that proves that besides the Pittsburgh Penguins name and colors? Cost, doesn't compare, coaching, doesn't compare as PPE runs everyone out, skating and skills the PPE ran all of their good one's out, gym Esmark's is 4 times bigger and has a track, practices Esmark is better, NHL drafted players advantage Esmark as PPE has 000000, college and junior bound Esmark has more.
-
Your kid must not play for either anymore because it's not mandatory with Esmark anymore. You can look up the pricing also for the PPE and Esmark and it is $2,000 cheaper. The nutritionist you speak of with the PPE gives the kid a printed paper off of a website and tells the kids to drink chocolate milk, the EXACT same thing any coach with a brain and can read can tell the kids without the extra $$$ spent. PPE only offered 2 gyms last season and they were literally right before their practices, any time that ice opens up Esmark offers shoot around ice which PPE haven't offered in 2yrs especially now with the guidelines. Esmark's gym is under new management Finish First, so a coach not showing up means nothing now. How about how PPE share ice for practices and Esmark doesn't. PPE doesn't do Fundraising where Esmark does at least 1 per month. When your kid this and when your kid that, your views are obviously outdated. I know parents that still have kids at both organizations and compare notes every year.
-
Oh we drank the Kool-aid also but we got smart before it was to late. From what I got from the parents I know Esmark is between $2,000-$2,500 cheaper and that's buying their own bags, jumpsuits, pants and jerseys (Dick's buys those for the PPE)just to start and they don't come asking for extra $$$ multiple times throughout the season either. Esmark doesn't make it mandatory for all players to stay in the same hotel like PPE (unless it's a stay & play)
-
Just curious as to why Esmark plays 2nd fiddle to PPE when Esmark has had more players drafted into the NHL over the last 2yrs (1)than the PPE have in their entire 8yr existence (0).??? Esmark is about $$$ but the 3 parents i know that have kids there have been offered $$$ back because of the shut downs ???, what have the PPE offered????? Nothing but oh well and by the way since the NHL is starting back up you won't be allowed in our facility at all just like when the playoffs started. Good thing they got knocked out in the first round or all those parents would be paying for nothing but that name. Esmark has had MULTIPLE calls from PPE parents and kids that wanted out before a 2nd shutdown but the PPE refused to release them.
-
Exactly, spent 4yrs there because my kid wanted to be there but the prices kept going up and up for less and less. The guy that started this thread even said that he noticed the coaching at the younger level. Those coaches are there to make money and that's it. Granted like anywhere you have a select few that do enjoy coaching but not many. They have a lot of parent coaches and a lot of their coaches work for other skills and development coaches around the area where they poach players to go to their classes instead of the Pens. People think that other people are just hating on the PPE because their kids didn't make a team or they are jealous when most of the people commenting about the PPE are or have actually been there and are speaking from experience.
-
I hope so because that statement is the biggest crock of shit I have read on this site. Over the last 3yrs they have lost their 3 best skating/skills coaches and their best Goalie coach. The lady that ran the learn to skate classes was let go of her duties because she was suing the Lemieux center because they refused to give her the proper privacy and time to pump her milk for her newborn baby. They eliminated the extra skating and skills days because they sold off to much ice. It got so bad the last 2yrs that parents were asking for money back because they straight up lied about the skating and skills. Most of the PPE kids go to private coaches elsewhere to get their skating/skills training because they lack the quality at Lemieux center since they ran all their GOOD coaches out. That organization will fold within the next 10yrs. They have screwed over, pushed out and blackballed to many people over their first what 8yrs in business (oops I mean non profit organization ??) my bad.
-
RMU and Bairel are definitely closer and cheaper for what you are asking for. If you want to get your kid going then go ahead with Lemieux but maybe try calling RMU with everything going on they may have a spot open.
-
My kids have gone through all 3 places at one time or another. RMU is a great place to START but once your kid gets good you need to RUN because they will try and keep you there for as long as they can. Bairel is also great for Mites, while not as many teams/kids as RMU they do always have a good program in Mites. Lemieux is definitely the least favorite out of the 3. The 1 season my kid did Mites there they had 5 different head coaches and none of them knew the kids names. They would be on their phones or talking with the appointed refs along the boards during games while the kids did whatever they wanted. They didn't know when the puck went in the net or flew out of the rink half the time so the kids would just skate around until the buzzer went off or they actually noticed. If you have the money to blow or know someone up there then the sky is the limit for your kid no matter how good they are. If you are looking for good quality development and coaching then RMU or Bairel are your best choices.
