I’ve heard the 05 predators are moving from ice castle to alpha, if true, that would be next years 16u team. I would be really surprised if they manage to get an 18u team together, the vengeance would have to bring in a reputable coach. The Icemen & predators already have the faux AAA titles on lockdown.

if that's the case and it is the preds moving to alpha , then don't they automatically take the faux aaa name with them?

There’s always an abundance of players to fill a team when an extra A is at stake so the parents can tell their friends their son plays AAA hockey.

Trust me - if they field an 05 team there will be a line of kids at tryouts.

just what we need another Aaa team in pgh. we must be the laughing stock of the county with the amount of so called Aaa teams in western Pa.

    More evidence:

pens Elite 2005 just beat Mt Lebo 3-1, a #70-ranked team made up of ALL players who never played above AA before this season. Pens Elite at Nationals = Mt Lebo at Mid Ams....0-3

don't forget the almighty Esmark u15's went 0-3 as well

For 06's, the Barons are 2-0-2 against PPE, they've played twice as many games yet they are ranked lower.  And if PPE doesn't win Mid-ams they are still likely to get an at-large bid.  What does that say?

lets not forget the Barons beat PPE Last season at u14 to go to nationals.. PPE was the top seed last season as well

I have no affiliation with the guy but say what you want about coaching or an incident that has happened between a coach and player... if applicable.

The other stuff... no business calling out someone’s personal life like that, especially when it’s a family dynamic and a kid is involved. Let’s not act like we’ve all navigated life with perfection either. I don’t know the details, who was wrong, but that kind of shit really doesn’t have a place on this board.

ask any 03,04 or even 05 parent that was at scir when he was there. they will tell you the TRUTH about him.

How embarrassing for shady side being that close with local AA teams when most kids on that team are paying 25k+ . Most of those kids on allegheny, armstrong and indiana are having their last ride just playing for fun meanwhile shady side practices 5-6 times a week , has their own rink and all the other amenities the local AA kids don’t have

was this their varsity team or prep team?

Is the requirement still 10 games to qualify?  Just wondering if they wouldn’t try to minimize that requirement or if that is the justification?

no this is on use hockey website:

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Hockey announced a reduction of the minimum game count to qualify for the 2021 USA Hockey-Chipotle National Championships and District Tournaments for Youth Tier I and II teams, from 20/10 to 14/7. To qualify for district and national tournaments, all Youth Tier I and Tier II teams must have competed as a team unit in at least 14 games, while each youth player must have played in at least seven games during the 2020-21 season.

  8. Well I guess the shutdown doesn't apply to a local organization. it is confirmed that the Esmark teams are all traveling to Dallas Texas this weekend to continue to play. HOW are they even able to pull this off since EVERY team seems to be on a pause BUT them?  Wonder if mid am knows about this?
