  1. The multi-sheet rinks take one sheet down at a time so it isn’t as hard. It really isn’t noticeable during the summer
  2. That argument for that division is to let the minor birth year teams play against the other minor teams in first year checking
  3. I agree, I would love to see USA Hockey registration counts from WPA over the last 30 years. Does anyone know of that information is publicly available?
  4. You can probably throw Mt. Lebo in that mix too
  5. Organizations provide their anticipated level to PAHL. PAHL looks at the roster and history of the players to place them where they think they belong. The initial request of the organization is taken on to account. Then placement games happen to make any final adjustments.
  6. Are they still AAA players if they got cut?
  7. Yes, they notified the commits last night after Vengeance offers went out.
  8. I can’t imagine making the choice to pay the higher price tag on a team everyone knows will be worse than AA counterparts and traveling all over the place every weekend getting your but kicked just to say you play AAA.
  9. I know players are scrambling, but has Esmark officially given up?
  10. Too many tryouts at the same time, I lost track of who ended when.
  11. Looks like SHAHA cut 3 and the rest made the team based on their website. Preds, I don’t know. Vengeance ends tonight.
  12. Doesn’t appear that they selected anyone from the supplemental. I wonder what their next move is?
  13. Did you hear something or are you guessing that is the case?
  14. From my understanding just a few more. I believe there were also a few of the Esmark selections at Vengeance so that could get interesting. *second hand information, I was not at either.
  15. That thought crossed my mind when I heard they took the V players. I’m thrilled that it happened, was just a bit surprised.
  16. If you are committed there, I have to imagine you are shopping around a bit. I’m sure they can put a team together but the quality is going to be rough.
  17. I'm still trying to figure out why Esmark didn't wait until post-vengeance/preds to have their supplemental. But I'm sure they have their reasons.
  18. It has been discussed that the Vengeance players are scattering, where are their players coming from as you see them second in the pecking order?
  19. I don’t think anyone suggested they should not be paid. The point was they shouldn’t be allowed to extort the players with paid private lessons in return for playing time.
  20. It definitely doesn’t stop outside the walls of Ice Castle. We avoid teams with paid coaches who also give private lessons like the plague. Learned my lesson once, never again.
  21. I do question the inference that paid coaches are better than “daddy ball” coaches. I’ve seen more than enough paid coaches develop a system of pay to play forcing players to sign up for their skill sessions to earn playing time. There are some very good parent coaches out there, they just happen to have a kid that plays. There are obviously very good paid coaches and very bad parent coaches as well. Having a kid on the team or not doesn’t tell you anything about the quality of the coach.
  22. It will vary by age group. The ‘08s seem to have a lot of movement this year after a solid year last year, the ‘09s may or may not have a team and the ‘10s lost some players to Esmark and others while the ‘11s picked up a bunch of Pens black players. The carousel continues despite a shiny new facility.
