Just curious, do these folks still feel the need to social distance and wear masks? I would think they are stress free now! Sometimes I think it would be better to take my chances and get it.

I haven't been to Ice Castle since March! It just seems to me that you would be very happy to see Hockey/Youth Sports shut down. Why not just shut it all down forever so no one ever gets sick. I give up. Let's just shut it all down till there are no more reported cases in the US.

I would sure like to know how you got that info? Do you know the 3 kids personally? I call BS on your facts. Do you also know the carrier? Maybe you are contact tracer. I might believe you then. But then you would have an idea of who brought it to the rink for those 3 to get it.

Danner27 is making it sound like those kids got the virus from the tryouts. How does he know that for a fact unless they haven't gone anywhere else sinch March. That's all I'm saying.

And how do you know it's a fact? Because someone told you so? The kids in question didn't go anywhere else they could have come in contact with the virus and you know that to be a fact. Gimme a break!

With all due respect where would you draw the line? What is necessary? Never said rinks are a critical business. Once again shouldn't I be able to make my own decision as to what I want to do? No politics involved just my choice. Shouldn't I be able to go to the rink if it's my choice? Your choice might be to stay home and that's fine with me. Who is forcing compliance? Where are the politics? Maybe we should all just get used to sitting in the house so we never get sick. And what generation are you talking about. The one that wants to get back to life?

Did anyone seriously think that the virus was not going to hit the ice? I am sorry to say that it is here and as I see it you either stay at home not see anyone and not get it or live your life and take your chances. I just don't see how the economy and our way of life can work if we all stay at home. I would like to think that I am in the middle. I will try to avoid it but I won't stop living to do that. Won't go to places like bars, protests, beaches where people congregate for long periods. Will go to local Hockey rinks to see the kids play. The games aren't packed with fans. I stand by myself try to avoid people. That's all I can do. If I get it under those circumstances I hope my immune system can fight it. Hope I don't have to find out.

Jack, Just want to know what is different today than it was yesterday? Will you let your kids skate today? Next week? Next month? Seems to me that the risk is not that much less. Good luck to everyone with tryouts and hopefully we can have some smart, safe, hockey fun. Hopefully we will all take precautions and limit our potential to ge Covid-19. Only time will tell.

I just saw an article today that states that on the average summer day in the US that 7500 people will die. That was before Covid-19. Why aren't those numbers reported every day? With a breakdown as to how they died. Now the numbers are closer to 10,000 a day but only the deaths and suspected deaths from Covid-19 are reported. Should be real interesting to see what the numbers are going to be when the shutdowns are relaxed.

I'm with you 100 percent on this. Jack Handy might as well put him and his family in a bubble. Only sure way he's not going to catch anything. This is something we are all just going to have to live with. Hopefully we can be smart. And yes there are lots of people out there that are taking no precautions. But that's life and that's the world we live in. Time to get back to it.

OK I agree but give me an idea as to when that might be. 1 month, 2 months, 3 years? I don't see an end. And when will the government just run out of money too? They can't just keep printing it. This virus is going to be here. We are not going to be able to eliminate it without a vaccine and even then it likely will mutate. We need to get back to life cautiously. Letting young kids play sports is not going to change the course of this virus one way or another. If you are vulnerable protect yourself. Don't expect someone else to do it for you.

How do you propose to enforce this. I don't think USA Hockey is going to send someone to a rink to take names. I am actually quite shocked by the people who are whining about a rink renting their ice out. How will you feel if rinks have to close because they have had no income for 4 or 5 months. How would it affect youth hockey if the number of rinks in western pa is cut in half when it gets to green. And for arguments sake tell me what it is going to take to get to green. How can you work toward something with no guidelines. People are tired of government just making things up, No one is being forced to skate. Maybe just maybe there are people skating for the love of the game. I would like to think that most people are well aware of the risks involved with being in public. We are in this for the long haul. No quick fix. Time to get on with life! And yes that most likely means the inflated numbers are going to go up, people are going to get sick. Most will recover some will not. I live in a country that up until now gave me the choice to live my life free from oppression. I'd like to get back to that. Enough of my rantings. Time

Wow King, What is there to rule? I do find your opinions very interesting. You seem to know an awful lot about the inner workings of USA Hockey and Mid Am Hockey. I'm guessing that you have been or were involved with Amateur Hockey for a very long time and have seen it develop into what it is now. I'm sure that you don't like what it is now. Anyway I tend to be a glass half full guy and hope that people are in it for the right reasons.

Then why does Wolf act so incompetent? When Levine was asked what the criteria is to go from Yellow to Green she said it hasn't been developed yet! Seriously! All these intelligent people haven't come up with the guidelines. Where is all of this scientific analysis? Give us a goal to work towards instead of incompetence. Gives me no hope! I'm close enough that maybe I should move to West Virginia.

Let me ask you this, have you actually read what the difference is between red and yellow? Is Beaver county really going to take one for the team by not being able to wait and hour to get into a restaurant - because they’re only taking 10 people at a time? You need to go back and read the difference between Red & Yellow. Not a whole lot of difference to me. Do you know what you are talking about? Where does moving from Red to Yellow allow dine in at any capacity? Granted Wolf is just a talking head but just like with Trump the buck stops here. Yes the economy is in a shambles and will only get worse if the Yellow phase is allowed to go on for 10 to 12 weeks! There will be nothing to go back to. And yes I have read the Georgia Tech model that suggests that the State of Georgia is in for big trouble by easing restrictions too soon. We will just have to wait and see. I really don't like the thought of Hospitals being overwhelmed but I also don't like being told what I can and can't do. I have sucked it up for the team. It's time to move on with life. I still believe that a lot of people are smart enough to social distance and protect the elderly without having to be forced to do so.

Agree 100% and what happened to his CMU data based information? They have a nice website with a lot of interesting information but how does it translate into when the State can safely open up?

OK, so what do you suggest? Lockdown a whole county because of one nursing home? Over 300 cases and over 60 deaths at that one facility. And why aren't the workers taking it home and into the community in clusters? How long do you want the lockdown to go on? Do you have a number or just until the economy is in total shambles? Please enlighten us. Or should we just wait until all knowing Wolf says it's OK?

What is the criteria to go from Yellow to Green? No one knows! Supposed to be guided by some model CMU is putting together? Once again at discretion of this Governor. No clear guidelines or measurables. Wolf is a joke! Did you see his press conference yesterday. Kept saying refer to the FAQ section. How can he not know if he is the one guiding the ship.

Camp tells KDKA to date there are 333 positive COVID-19 cases between residents and staff plus 71 related deaths in this nursing home. There are 78 coronavirus-related deaths in Beaver County total. County Commissioner Jack Manning said it doesn’t make sense everyone else in the region can open, while the governor “puts a wall” around Beaver County for one nursing home. He said it’s his job to protect the welfare of businesses and residents, which is why he won’t be backing the governor’s decision." Yeah, deprive the county businesses of a living because of an outbreak pretty much contained to one place. Does that make sense to you? I'm glad to hear that the County DA won't prosecute people who open their business.

I agree, We have been locked out for almost 8 weeks now. Can you imagine another 10 to 12? I can't! I could maybe see keeping the Eastern part of the state locked down to get the numbers a little more under control. I also believe that if you opened everything up tomorrow you would be lucky to have 50% of your business back. There are a lot of people that would be very cautious and not go back in public. It is a different world for sure.

If it takes 10-12 weeks to get to the green we are going to see a lot of businesses open against the orders. Some are already defying the Governors orders We all know of Hair Salons that are quietly opening to preferred customers. What he did to Beaver County is ridiculous. At this point we should all know the risks associated with going out to public places. If rinks were to open next week with restrictions I would let my kids go. I will probably get them a clear face shield, Make them dress and undress at home. The problem I see is how will restaurants, gyms, salons survive on 25% capacity. Most are built on 50 to 75% just to breakeven.

I will practice social distancing and all the rest of the guidelines and still go out in public. That is just the new normal. I can't believe anyone thinks they can live with a shutdown of our lives until the virus is gone. There has to be a middle ground. I am very interested in hearing more about AAU Hockey. Thanks for the info. Do you know of any teams in SWPA? Competition for USA Hockey would be a good thing.

USA Hockey put out their Return to the Rink guidelines on their website. Basically sounds like they are leaving it up to the rinks based on State reopening. No mention of dates to allow tryouts. At least they are thinking in the right direction. Some of the things discussed here are in their guidelines. Like suggesting that players dress at home and spend as little time at the rinks as possible. Limiting parents etc.

If you don't like Little League you can always join Pony League. So USA Hockey has no rival? It's them or nothing? Do the rinks have to pay into USA Hockey? Does any inhouse league at a Hockey rink have to be USA Hockey approved? Is it because of Liability issues?
