  1. Drank the kool aid ? Let me know when your kid makes a NAHL team at 17 years old. If your kid is still playing 18u AAA, chances are extremely slim he gets a real juniors opportunity, he’s done and not going anywhere. All the top talent is gone by that age. The kids have all been identified, drafted etc.
  2. Correct if you followed my posts over the years my kids are done. I’m speaking mostly about my experience with my 99 who was a very high level player. Drafted into the ushl, made a nahl team his senior year in high school. He decided to head right to college and be done with hockey for multiple reasons. My 02 played at esmark, the experiences, coaching, skills, off ice , exposure, league etc where not even close to ppe. Not to mention location, pia is in a drug infested ghetto. That area has been discussed here multiple times.
  3. I have no sales pitch, both of my kids are done. Just speaking on personal experience. I should add when my oldest was doing very well at ppe, excel was just starting so we never got pushed towards it. It was the younger 03s at the time. mainly one kid that program was started for. Now it’s morphed into crazy money. Most folks on here just go by hearsay and have not been involved in these programs. a lot of bitterness because their kids didn’t make a team etc. I’m enjoying watching my 11 year old niece learn to play hockey along with my oldest working with her.
  4. It is mandatory with esmark and league events to stay in the same hotel. Where do you think the nahl raises money ? Off the na3hl and the crappy naphl. when my son played, PPE was more expensive up front by about $1,000 but esmark travel exceed the cost of ppe travel buy a pretty good Margin. If I recall correctly at esmark we had to goto Minnesota 2 times that season. Those trips were very expensive. The years my son spent at PPE, they were in the T1EHL. The extra $1,000 upfront though was well worth it. Nutritionist, excellent off ice 3 days a week (not just right before practice for an hour like esmark). Shoot around icetime, I could go on and on but this isn’t really the thread, so let’s get back to lockdowns!!!
  5. Esmark can be more expensive depending what the travel schedule is for the season. why will esmark always be second to ppe ? For starters, esmark is not run very well. Esmark does not have a nutritionist. Their off ice program is terrible (when the trainer shows up). It’s really a long list, having a kid that played for both ppe & esmark I could go on forever, that’s not to say ppe doesn’t have their own issues lately but this thread was not about that, it was about covid and hockey.
  6. Esmark is Esmark, they will always play second fiddle to PPE. If you folks think PPE is strictly about making money, esmark is much worse in that regard, but that’s a debate for a different time. If esmark is going to Texas it’s more than likely a league event for them. The predators PAHL teams practicing still after PAHL shut down really made me scratch my head. The two situations (esmark) are not comparing apples to apples. My nieces team got an email from their organization stating games, practices and team events are on hold for now under the direction of PAHL.
  7. If I am understanding correctly, PAHL & PIHL are shut down for 3 weeks. My nieces pahl team shut down. I know PPE is following these guidelines but I was just told something today that frankly, I couldn’t believe. The predators PAHL teams practiced all weekend! some of the teams are looking to buy extra ice at ice castle to continue to practice. This folks is why we can’t have nice things! We are talking about PAHL teams! Parents are still this delusional these days ? it’s not a secret, I am against lockdowns but this isn’t really a lockdown like we had last time. When just looking at hockey (as we should on this board) it’s more like a 3 week mid season break if the seasons resume early January as stated. let your hockey playing kids be kids and enjoy the holiday break. follow the stupid rules and in no time you can again, dream of your child going from PAHL to NCAA D1 !!!
  8. I had one play there, had some doors opened to him from ppe. Everything negative you heard is true. It’s turned into a money laundering front for the pro team, a tax shelter. At one time they had great coaches, great skills people. It’s all stripped down now. It’s about the money. to the younger parents, please folks, just let your kids have fun at their pace!
  9. Heard the same, coaches are “encouraged” to get tested, I didn’t hear anything about players.
  10. It sounds like PAHL has reversed their decision now, my nieces team is not required to wear them on the ice. Someone needs to tell PIHL, I was told they are going through with it.
  11. No players wearing masks, no refs, nobody involved in the game - PIA today.
  12. Currently at pia, esmark is hosting thier first NAPHL showcase, no teams are wearing masks on the ice. As I stated it’s not a “mandate” or an “order” it is a recommendation. The businesses (rinks) should be making this call, not PAHL or PIHL.
  13. Today, I watched a tier 1 game at pia. no masks on the ice. My point is, this should not be a league decision, it should be the businesses decision. You have teams from all around the country at pia this weekend, no mask “mandate” or “orders” in place on the ice.
  14. Because just like the pa government, they can not force players to wear mask, so for liability reasons they send out an email stating the leagues position. It’s been proven people are getting bacteria infections from wearing a mask to long, hockey players are going to be wearing wet masks.
  15. I Just talked with two old (local) ref buddies. Both are hanging up the skates until covid is over. Neither wants to deal with wearing a mask while trying to communicate with players & coaches. Neither wants it on their hands if someone gets hurt out there. There is a lot of communication between refs and players, Both feel the games are going to get out of control very easily.
  16. @Quinlan2020 thats the head guy for the nfl making that statement, of course the msm isn’t going to report it.
  17. https://www.outkick.com/nfl-chief-medical-officer-no-evidence-of-covid-19-spread-in-play-anywhere-in-world/
  18. It’s not a order, no court stepped in to enforce it. It’s not a mandate, they sit have the power, wolf is already waiting on an appeal for the first case he lost. you do not have to follow it but you have to follow how private business is run. He-she even said they have no way to enforce these things, they are recommendations!
  19. But it’s not an “order” or “mandate”. It’s a recommendation. The problem falls with liability towards personal business (ice rinks). The rinks should be making the call in regards to on ice masks, not any league.
  20. It’s not a rink thing, all players are to wear masks while on the ice. Ludicrous! They are going to kill one of these kids! Just shut it all down at this point, restart in January.
  21. Esmark starts a showcase Friday, I don’t see how any out of state teams have time to get that done.
