A handful of jv/varsity programs got put on hold this week by school AD’s.

Esmark’s social media is also full of advancement posts. Do some research and you will see 90% of the these kids never make it to the junior team that tendered, drafted or signed them. 3/4th of this past seasons 18U PPE team was drafted into the ncdc last month. Granted, we are not talking about Canadian majors. The ushl or even nahl but that was a bad PPE team. In reality there is one kid (defense) that will probably make the ncdc out of that group. by falling off, I am talking about getting the best players. They don’t carry the weight the once did, better players are going to culver and other schools. Gilmour is also really influenced by the dollar now.

Well, I can point you to a 2003 player who was on the 4th line at esmark this past season. This year, he’s on PPE. He’s attended excel for 3 years. He’s on because the family has been paying into the excel program. The kid just isn’t very good.

So we are talking about squirt age kids now ? My kid played at ppe, I will always call them out for their bs. I’ve bashed the heck out of them on this site for certain things. it’s the premier Pittsburgh program like it or not. Fighting about squirts, I guess it is time for me to retire from these message boards, I keep forgetting there is always new, young hockey parents coming up the ranks that know it all & want to fight about 9 & 10 year olds making it pro.

I would agree with this statement. Gilmour has really fallen off the past few years though. SSA has really never been taken serious by real junior programs, great academic school.

I do not understand the statement in your first sentence. we have discussed the 05 goalie, everyone understands the truth behind this. Now you are bringing up camps ? I to have also heard AD’s have shut down some pihl programs waiting on piaa. It seems to very from school to school, I would highly doubt a school employee is cover up for a football program, this is where you show that your true colors as a disgruntled hockey parent with some sort of axe to grind. I have admitted I really do not know much about youth or HS football, I don’t have many friends or contacts involved in the sport. Your comment about 10 CV football players is most likely not credible due to stretching the truth in other posts. both my kids are out of high school now, I know nothing about opening or closing plans for western pa high schools. @PeterThePuck what you do is hear a rumor - Sometime it has some truth but you turn it upside down to fit whatever narrative you are going after. I was accused as the doomsayer when covid started. I still feel everything is going to be shut down when it comes to youth sports. For the sake of the kids I hope I am wrong but try to stick to the facts even if it’s a rumor.

This is laughable, unless your are talking about mites there are no players going to ask for a release from PPE. We can complain about some of their business practices, pushing certain kids, etc but they are the premier program in Pittsburgh. The New England area has been playing. Everything has been moved to New Hampshire.

When my oldest was skating with friends when some rinks opened, that’s how it was. There have been people that comment and told me the predators tryouts had parents packed in watching and some had no masks. King Ralph from what I’ve been told has cracked down on the parents

Again, no bomb as stated by Peter. The same info I got yesterday. The only difference - I was told two kids while on vacation. So it turns out only one of the two plays for the varsity team, I assumed both played varsity. your info on Lebo is incorrect. Yes the SF player is on the the 05 Lebo team. Nobody on that team has tested positive YET. Two kids didn’t feel well, both tested negative. look I’ve been saying from the start everything is getting canceled but some of you, with your made up - axe to grind bs need to stop.

There is no bomb, the sick kids didn’t contract it during hockey, they got it on vacation. Both had a fever so got tested, both fine after 2 days.

Got the info, two kids on vacation picked up covid. Since they are on the varsity team, SF shut the program down for 14 days to be safe. None of it happened because of hockey or sports in general.

The schools my kids went to, along with my niece & nephew schools are open normal. Both schools go back at the end of August.

If it’s in Warrendale, That’s the one I was told rules were changed last minute - Michigan rules. (No contact 4 on 4 only 10 players per team)

What was the wrong doing ? The wild things had a state order they could go to 2,500 people. When there was a spike they took caution on their own lowering it to 250 people. Am I missing something in the article ? I went to a wild things game two summers ago, There couldn’t have been more than 300 people.
