  1. PSU sent out a email to their athlete’s today saying the season is canceled. As I mentioned earlier, incoming hockey freshman were told to try and return to their junior teams if still eligible.
  2. The Big 10 canceled football for the season - not even on hold, CANCELED! One of the biggest money making FPS conferences.
  3. Every state is different. Since the hphl is made up of Michigan & Illinois teams, the league has already moved everything out of state until the first of the year.
  4. Not all states are like this, Ohio is operating normal.
  5. PS - I wouldn’t call ONE football player getting covid an outbreak. Stay away from the beaches, dummies.
  6. All the Michigan tier 1 teams have scheduled to play in Ohio until the new year. AAA will happen for teams in the hphl, t1ehl & naphl - to much money at stake. Independent teams such as the predators whom rely on Detroit tournaments will have a hard time finding games. PPE is still up in the air. The local leagues such as pihl & pahl, you are more than likely correct here. I am not hearing anything positive.
  7. Heard Pahl will shut down if piaa does, can any of the Pahl higher ups around here confirm ? I’ve heard some pihl teams are moving forward, others are waiting on the piaa. Esmark is still planning their season, PPE is up in the air. As I said above, Michigan tier 1 teams are scheduling games in Ohio for the remainder of this year. Ultimately, the opposite of what I thought appears to be happening. I thought local leagues around the states would be ok (Pahl / Pihl type) but the travel teams would get canceled, everything is pointing to the complete opposite.
  8. Sounds about right. This will only effect school hockey in the end. Tier 1 will definitely go on. Teams from Michigan are scheduling games in Ohio as we speak, with a plan to play their home games after Jan 2021. Will it effect Pahl ? The junior leagues are opening. Of course I’m only speaking about the sport of hockey with these comments. the part I can not wrap my head around - All things considered, let’s just all agree and say every thing about covid is 100% true, there is no politics involved. When it comes to hockey, wouldn’t school and Pahl be the most likely to be ok ? It’s looking like it’s going to be the opposite. Tier 1 & travel hockey will happen, pihl won’t. That makes ZERO sense to me until, of course you follow the money. Tier 1 and juniors are huge money makers for private business, They will get theirs by scheduling in different states.
  9. @Eddie Shore Get ready, as you & I have said since april, sports are all about the be over. The piaa is going to decide all of pa’s fate, even club sports. There was only a handful of us from the start stating this. I think the @The King was also one as I got accused of being his alt account.
  10. Pittsburgh City Schools just canceled sports until Jan 1st, 2022. This doesn’t surprise me though, The Pittsburgh Public School system is HUGE when it comes to party politics. is carrick part of Pittsburgh City schools ? They have a co op hockey team with a few suburban schools, how does this effect the suburban schools that are still going ahead with sports ? (If they are) They play under the carrick banner hanging at ice castle.
  11. My son has a very close friend whom was to be a freshmen this year for the PSU ncca d1 Hockey team. Currently, the school is working on reversing his admissions, the coaching staff has advised him to go back to the USHL For his final eligible junior season. This was just communicated today to the family. It’s my understanding they are telling all incoming freshman hockey players this.
  12. The wolf came out this morning, his RECOMMENDATION is no high school sports until Jan 1st. That’s right in the middle of the normal flu season.
  13. What’s the point of non contact football and hockey ? you are correct, it will go that way if there is going to be any sports.
  14. Here comes the wolf! https://www.wpxi.com/news/top-stories/sports-should-not-be-played-if-students-arent-back-classrooms-gov-wolf-says/VT6ZN7V6UBAXVHTC2OCB547KZY/
  15. This is very true but in the case of a major fbs university like pitt, they have the money.

  17. I can see the schools shutting down in 2-3 weeks once kids go back. nothing will be resolved until the election is over.
  18. I get all that, I agree. I’m asking what age is considered youth football. What does it compare to ? Football is the untouchable PA sport.
  19. I don’t know much about youth football, could someone clarify what ages ? Is this like little league baseball ? youth football Canceled - the sport most western pa folks think as untouchable. does youth hockey get canceled ? i was told about a varsity hockey tournament next weekend in cranberry that just had its rules changed - 4 on 4 (9) skaters per team & no contact. Why play the game at this point ? That’s not hockey. https://www.wtae.com/article/western-pennsylvania-youth-football-league-2020-season-canceled/33500454#
  20. Canadians have been taking the ncca route more and more. The competition in the ohl, whl & qmjhl are higher than ever. 90% of the kids in those top leagues don’t end up pro and don’t have much to show for it. The Canadian players have got wise to the NCAA path and the pros have been getting more involved with ncaa. Now kids good enough for the ohl are deciding to play in the ushl & bchl and try to get half their college education payed for while still keep the pro dream alive.
