  1. Well we are approaching yellow real fast.
  2. Well if you go by hockey cost alone, esmark is more than ppe with travel, but if you factor in excel it changes things a lot. Excel was not “mandatory” when my oldest was there. Stress for the parents is higher at PPE but stress for the players is much higher at esmark. These are my personal experiences.
  3. Yes, yes they do. It just not out in open like PPE.
  4. You will find this interesting. They just cut a pretty skilled 02 who was drafted by the ncdc for a 03 who has been going to excel the past 2 years. It makes zero sense from a hockey perspective when you compare the pedigree and skill of these two players. Word is the 03s father also made a nice donation to the penguins foundation, along with his excel contributions over the years. The 02 never went to excel. PPE is not about growing the game. They are a tax shelter using youth hockey to pay for the pro teams practice facility and of course every couple of birth years an employee kid needs pushed.
  5. They come on education visas. If covid calms down in time they will but the way covid is going it does not look good.
  6. Jealous & again ? You have me confused with someone else ? My kid played two years PPE - the years that matter. All I did was point out David M can call the team whatever he likes, he will still have to play the same team in districts. What part of that sounds like jealousy ?
  7. No, if you flip back a bit, some folks thought I was over reacting. Just pointing out the truth, covid is FAR from over.
  8. And here comes dictator wolf, bars getting closed down. Allegheny county possibly being moved back to yellow on wed. Y’all wanted to give me crap but can’t see the trees through the forest. Good luck to all paying travel hockey fees this year!
  9. Yikes! I am guessing they are a “guest” team.
  10. Ha! David can put whatever tag he wants in the name, at the end of the year they are still playing esmark, culver, Columbus & Cleveland for districts!
  11. How did 16U turn out in WPA ? I Was told 18U is likely the way it has been. Esmark, then ppe with Gary’s Kids (predators) pulling up the rear far behind. Are the icemen still a thing at midget ?
  12. So as I said, the players are sick. Like a normal head cold.
  13. Maybe if you would read through my post history you would know what my history is with junior hockey. Pay to play junior hockey is a dead end.
  14. I don’t know the protocol, the LSU football team all picked it up at a night club a week earlier. the LSU kids are actually sick. Austin Matthews got tested because he had flu symptoms from his home in Arizona. I don’t know the Tampa bay lighting situation, just reported players and staff tested positive.
  15. I don’t disagree but Auston Mathews got it from his home town in Arizona. Now I just Read 30 LSU football players tested positive for covid, they went to a night club! The hysteria will start all over again.
  16. Toronto sun - Austin Matthews tests positive for covid at his home in Arizona.
  17. Don’t have any horses in the game anymore, I’m genuinely interested to see how all this covid stuff plays out in youth sports. I have nephews along with family friends who still play hockey.
  18. And now this just came up. I can’t figure out how to copy and paste it, so google it. kanas state has put athletics on hold for 14 days. 14 kids tested covid positive today. Yikes!
  19. Wow $$$$$$$$$$ the article I read on CBC this morning painted a much different picture.
  20. It’s looking like the nhl is going to shut it down, Tampa bay lighting players & staff tested positive for covid already. Youth hockey is next.
  21. I get it. My oldest was on the other side for two years. Just had to show up and give a decent effort. Unfortunately most tier 1 teams along with Pahl aa teams are half picked before a tryout starts. It’s just the way it is. PPE seems to have the worse rep though with the 03 birth year due to one kid and his dad.
  22. The ehl is the top tier 3 pay to play no doubt, but the majority of those kids end up in acha.
  23. junior hockey, if you are Not playing in the ushl, nahl or ncdc don’t even waste your time or money, it’s a dead end. Pay to play juniors is not real junior hockey, it’s a money making model, 3/4th the teams would not be able to compete with midget aaa. The ncdc being the bottom of those three and they produce very few ncaa players. I know a lot of nahl kids who are now playing college club hockey. Obviously I’m talking about junior leagues in the state’s.
