  1. Many officials wont go there because it takes forever to get payed and the fans are awful.
  2. Everyone on here treats JB as if he’s some sort of hockey martyr. He’s a puppet master. He does what’s best for JB, stop being so jaded.
  3. Good point because its essentially the same officials.
  4. There are more than capable ones who have not skated for PIHO for whatever reasons, so no one needs to worry about this. And, if you ask, some may say that the ones who have skated these in the past are not necessarily capable!
  5. Must be a PIHO good old boy trying to stir a pot.
  6. Yep. No matter what organization schedules its going to be the same guys, its funny people think their is a hidden pool of capable officials.
  7. They would need to have an appointed scheduler for sure, independently by teams would be interesting though.
  8. Sounds like the PIHL might be taking on official scheduling in house, this is something they used to do I think.
  9. You definitely have inaccurate information.
  10. There already is another scheduling group that is not like PIHO or WPHOA.
  11. They had already lost Allegheny and were poised to lose more. A possible reason for their Operation Shutdown.
  12. Do not forget crediting the arrogant and condescending good old boys of the PIHO board for such poor morale within the guys in the trenches skating. Some of them have such big heads they are lucky they can fit in the door of some rinks. When PIHO lost the Badgers contract, one of the directors said "we are glad we lost it." Yeah right--one of the biggest organizations.
  13. They definitely look and they schedule accordingly for the TBAs. Only admin can see who and how many responded to TBAs, I know a couple of schedulers who use this and they almost always select the most qualified (in there eyes) for the games. Usually loyalty, availability and a good reputation in rinks helps officials to get games. It may not seem like it but if a coach, players, or parents see an official come onto the ice and the collective reaction is "oh no, not him". It is quite likely that the schedulers know this as well. It is not that difficult to have a good reputation as an official, ask some of the more advanced guys for tips or as your scheduler.
  14. PIHO threw anyone on a game just to get a slot filled. Ask the Allegheny Badgers. At least other schedulers look to see who is available and/or qualified for a game, they just dont throw a body on a game and then bill an extra bunch of $$$ for scheduling or phantom evaluations and observations. One official told me that he was evaluated via livebarn and the constructive feedback was that his helmet was not shiny enough.
  15. You are partially correct but consider that PIHO was notorious for charging high administrative fees, which added to the cost that organizations face. Officials could likely be making the same money (maybe more in some cases) and organizations could be charged way less in administrative fees because there will be no absolutely ridiculous management positions such as Chief Information Office. Give me a break, chief information officer. This and the interim president are examples of arrogance/hubris of the highest level.
  16. There is another scheduling option in the area, it is one that has a pretty nice reputation for not fleecing organizations. I wonder why PIHO folded, I thought they were the elite of the elite.
  17. Interesting. LiveBarn-0-30000-Alpha_Ice_Complex_USA_Rink_2022-02-10T225959.mp4
  18. Having officiated several games in this tournament--including two in the 18UAA division, the games were competitive, and no team was outclassed by another in terms of skill level. The player and coaches that I spoke with were very pleased with the competition--even when a team lost.
  19. That is their logic. Also, for twelve minute period games, penalties will be 1:00. There is a new scale they designed to determine the penalty time length, and only the longest periods will have 2:00 penalties. And, of course, all language will be gender neutral since we cannot offend anyone in these times.
  20. Automatic offsides at ALL LEVELS. ICING not permitted at ALL LEVELS when shorthanded. Faceoff in offending team's defensive zone on penalty.
