  1. That does nothing to advance what this discussion has been about... The argument was never that there are not quality players at the D2 level, it was that those players numbers are inflated because of the competition level at that division. The way that I've understood what has been argued is that the D2 players point totals would regress towards the mean when faced with a higher level of competition. It is nearly impossible to compare player stats across levels. This whole thing reminds of when I coached and parents would be telling me how good a player is by quoting the number of goals, or points, a player has (all of which where always outrageous numbers) but then when I would look into what level the player was playing at I almost always found out they were doing it on a team playing at a low level of competition. The point of reference is what is most important in a discussion like this.

  2. It actually was very good. I know the refs don't like doing the 4 man system, but it did lead to significantly better officiating

  3. Welcome to the world where refs can pass out 10s like Oprah. Luckily they don't use fair play points at nationals

  4. Just as an FYI, the Yetis are looking to field a 16U National Bound team and are having two free pre-tryout sessions to any '08 or '09 skaters. Those dates are: 2:30p - 3:50p on Sunday 4/21 8:30p - 9:50p on Tuesday 4/23 The link to the Google form to sign up is HERE. On a side note, there is no overlap because they have the last tryouts locally (4/26 to 4/28). And I am just sharing this. Not looking to debate the organization, location, dates, coaches, etc. If you or someone you know can use it, great. If not, great.

  6. Tier 2 is a joke in my opinion. Missing most of the top teams , teams get in because they are hosts,.....Their is better competition at a lot of the bigger tournaments throughout the season than tier 2 nationals.

  7. Typically our region is only ever 3A, but they only got in because they are hosting so not sure how that works

  8. They did have a Head Coach wearing an ankle monitor this season. I think that proves your point

  9. Armstrong and Cheektowaga combined for 89 penalty minutes yesterday. Disappointing for a game between two top 8 teams in the country.
