How closely did you read those contracts you guys signed? Knowing the owners history, it's safe to assume he planned on screwing people over from the start. He probably snuck something in there where you guys owe him money every time you lace them up 😂

Why not just go out and watch local men's league games? It's as good a level of hockey or better and you just might see a scrap or two. Plus you can probably bring your own beer most places and not catch any hell for it

The level of play at a good u16AA tournament is certainly better than that of a u15AA tournament. If USA jumped on board and held u15 tier 2 nationals it might change the landscape, but until then play on the best team you can and take two legitimate cracks at nationals

If only the 09 parents were smart enough to realize the best option is to mix with AA 08s. U15 tier 2 is just silly

Last I checked, players aren't out here changing their birth years. So 09s are a problem because it's the same parents year after year.

They can just play men's league. The better beer leagues around here are a higher level of hockey anyway

For the most part yes, but as far as I know the coach who makes the most is at one of the smallest schools in the area. Obviously I don't know what everyone makes; I can only assume he's at the top as it's a massive number

I think 8-12 is probably pretty accurate for a new coach coming in. Some of the longer tenured coaches are up to 18k, at least from the ones I know.

If a top end players wants to pass on Excel I think they'd be fine, but when they are picking teams you better believe every bottom half player is in excel. Replacing players 15, 17, and 18 (who don't want to do excel) with 20, 22, and 24 (who do excel) would 100% happen.

While I don't think it's the main reason they are struggling, I think some of it comes down to people not liking the strong arm approach black bear took. Makes me wonder what the numbers will look like at vengeance this year

T1 midget clubs can choose what they want, but pretty much all use 3 man. I think 3 man is the way to go, assuming the guy wearing the bands is competent. Problem with 4 man is if the two refs aren't on the same page you can get the game called differently on each side of the ice

They all complain about how boring it is. It ends up being a lot more standing around

It actually was very good. I know the refs don't like doing the 4 man system, but it did lead to significantly better officiating

In my opinion at least. Typically the top D2 teams could play in AA and not be the worst team, however the weaker D2 teams might be on par with JV2. This is why you see alot of the 10+ goal blowouts at D2.

You can also make the argument of, why isn't every PAHL championship a penguin cup? Is D2 really any different from PAHL amateur play where it's players from a variety of schools? I think PIHL does a great job of giving these players a place to play despite them not actually being school teams. But people are never satisfied and always want more than the gift they were already given.
