  3. Ron Steedle Celebrating a victory is a moment in time where we all share in a team’s success in developing an idea of bringing the community together with one goal of achieving days and years of organization, love for the game, hard work and integrity into a champion. Whether it be the 3 World Series Championships of the Pirates, 6 Super Bowls Championships of the Steelers, 5 Stanley Cup Championships of the Penguins, or a local group of athletes into a scholastic or club program into a competitive juggernaut, my friend of 30+ years, Ron Steedle, taught me a life lesson. The process of developing people from grade school children into responsible young adults is a testimony to commitment, faith and friendship that drove the Cadillac of Life to the ballfields, arenas and stadiums across Western Pennsylvania mostly and around North America as a fan, coach, friend, mentor, father figure and role model. I would like to thank Ron’s Family, led by parents Joe and Mary and siblings Donny, Colleen and Eileen and all members of the Steedle Clan for giving us the blessing of Ron’s life of leadership, passion and friendship. Coach Ron was dedicated to the coaching profession volunteering his skill in the baseball and hockey community for over 50 years. As the ‘Father of Shaler Hockey’ under his leadership and mentoring, the program achieved 500 + Wins, a Penguins Cup in 2009, 5 WPIHL League Championships and 9 Divisions, mostly in Class AAA. In 20 + years with the Keystone State Games, achieved 2 Gold Medals in 1999 and, including the ‘Greatest Team in the Pennsylvania Summer Games History’ in 2000. Ron’s greatest achievement was the development and mentoring of countless players, coaches and administrators into difference makers in life. Ron served as an administrator and advisor in Baseball and Hockey for most of his life. As an administrator, umpire and manager in Baseball, he developed players and coaches in the Shaler Community eventually carrying skills and fundamentals learned into the highly successful High School Program. In the Hockey Community for over 30 years, Ron served as President, Coaching Director and Board Member for the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League and Founding Member of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League in 1999. As a board member of Pa Hockey Foundation, he advised and served to build the St Margarets Fall Face Off (1994), Pa Hockey Scholastic Showcase (1996) , National Invitational Scholastic Showcase – Jamestown NY (2006) and Hoosier Cup Scholastic Showcase South Band IND (2014). As a season ticket holder of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins, Ron was the consummate sports fan supporting the teams at their best and in tough times. He always found time for his family and friends attending every family event to celebrate reunions, birthdays and holidays. Thanks Ron for being a terrific role model, friend and leader. Please join us to celebrate all he gave to us. Visitation Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 2-8 PM at NEELY FUNERAL HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. 7. That is nonsense. Look at NA and Peters, Andrew Seiss and Chris Clackson learned from two of the best Mike Bagnato and Rick Tingle + Mort and earned a shot. PR's Jordan Yoklic just won States as did South Fayette Matt Schwartz, John Zeiler at TJ. Most of these guys have a playing pedigree or coach as assistants and earn a shot. Cody Black at Mars Chris Cerutti Penn Trafford and Mike Schall at Bethel are other Examples. Good Luck to Brian Bearley, 11 years coaching at FR and gets his chance. This list is long and there are many more examples.
  8. I wish Anthony the best at Central which is a huge challenge. WHEN he wins there and he will youll see SV made a miscalculation. He built a great organization at Seneca Valley with development at JV (2) and Middle School (2)teams and was successful every year he coached. Its not easy to win a State Championship (Congrats Pine Richland !)
  9. Did anyone from Western Pa make the finals at Nationals ? National Bound ? Maybe ?
  10. The last time the FR club experienced something like this in 2011 - 2015, the Varsity went 1-80-1 over 4 years. Thank god for the FR Little Panthers, who led the program to two Penguins Cups and 10 straight winning seasons under Brian Kurtz and John Winebrenner.
  11. Canevin has had a great program for a long time at AA and won over 600 Games and 8 Penguins Cups and 4 State Titles. They can play in Non PIHL Tournaments and compete. It would be nice to see them in AA but would mean the players from Seton LaSalle and Keystone Oaks would have to enroll in Canevin and they would be pure. Commitment to the School and Program. Costs money and can be done. People always want o have things both ways and the reality is the the league has rules to follow. Vaccaro played at Ringgold FYI. https://teampages.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/534810/CANEVIN2020F.pdf?X-Amz-Algorithm=AWS4-HMAC-SHA256&X-Amz-Credential=AKIA3I4H7LHCZ6EPI72U%2F20240404%2Fus-east-1%2Fs3%2Faws4_request&X-Amz-Date=20240404T012100Z&X-Amz-Expires=21600&X-Amz-SignedHeaders=host&X-Amz-Signature=33768ac2039199d2518fc9347beb05e66e17dfc9bf1a66915549e6c39336e868
