  1. I will go by facts. Young people aren’t dying from COVID or frankly getting sick from it.  That is clearly factual.  If you’re worried about your kid or yourself if you’re a ref, skip this season.

literally none of the hockey parents I know are worried about this at all, which is probably the same for high school football parents, etc.

the question is when can we as adults make the decisions for ourselves instead of a one size fits all approach by the State Govt?

I think we are also starting to see data that being around people who have COVID strengthens your immune system just like being around people with other viruses, just like man has been experiencing for 100,000 years.

its so damn frustrating on many levels and YES politics does have to do with it, when most of worst states are Run by one party.

    TOS update - interesting

No more BS requests - ever- about deleting posts when you leave the board.  I’m not babysitting people’s posts.

When you post to a free and open forum you have the expectation your posts will stay up in perpetuity.

I’ve had enough of The King and am not going through this again with anyone else.

Nothing more than that, just finally turning the page thanks to you know who.

People who have something to hide remove old posts and "disappear".

    Quite telling.

This is the first time ever that someone has requested their posts to be removed. Normally they don't care at all about their posts and they just walk away and never post again.

  4. The King has permanently left the board as of 8/21/20 and all posts have been hidden (by request) - which are a LOT of posts.

I don't have any further information, but I know questions are going to come up about what happened and I can't answer them, because I don't know "why".

Thanks to The King for a lot of good posts since you've been here.  Some have been controversial but they did cause a lot of interaction and input from our hockey community.  One way or another we will miss The King.

I think the following could be included in the rink category:

    -Ice quality

-Ice availability (only 1 sheet, multiple sheets)

-facility specific training options i.e. power skating, skills sessions, summer camps etc.. (not ran by organizations)

For organizations I would suggest things like:

    -quality of coaching

    -quality of practices/training

    -off ice training provided?

-amount of practice times and ice availability (1 practice a week, multiple, etc)

    -responsiveness to inquiries

    - reputation

I think this idea would be fantastic for newer parents, new people to the area or even people considering a change in organizations. Looking forward to other poster's input. I'm sure it will create a lot of discussion points! I'd be happy to help get this off the ground any way I can. Thanks Paul!

    Good points, thank you

  6. I would like to gather input for a possible addition to the site for the review/ratings of hockey ORGs and hockey RINKS.

All I am looking for is recommendations on review elements for each of the above.

    Such as:

    RINKS

    Parking (rated 1-5)

    Cleanliness of Bathrooms (1-5)

    Cleanliness of Locker Rooms (1-5)

    Condition of locker rooms (1-5)

    appearance of facility exterior (1-5)

    appearance of facility interior (1-5)

live hockey feed (livebarn or other)

    Staff (1-5)

    ORGS

    Need your input here.

Please no other discussion of actual rinks or orgs here, just how we should look at reviewing things

I think the only fair way to do it is rank the facilities themselves. Obviously there will be some MAJOR bias about the associations and most people on here probably don't have enough experience with multiple associations to comment on them.  Although...that would lead to some great arguments.... @Paul Baxter what say you?

Maybe I'll make a poll ranking the (12-15) local rinks to start

I have been thinking about doing something like that.  Let me think about it a little more.

  8. I am going to state this very clearly.  Stop the personal attacks or your posting abilities will be restricted.

Policing the content on this board is not my full time job so I would appreciate some respect of each other when posting.

I will be going though this whole thread soon and purging personal attacks.

have a take, state your take, rebut your take.  Leave personal attacks at the door.

Paul come on. First off I was called out by the poster. Now I get that name calling is hurtful to the new generation but this is far from that in my opinion. I simply gave my opinion on the posters gender and personality based in their pattern of passive aggressive posts. I didn’t force them to call me out or post This way. I feel that if they’re going to continue this behavior they take their medicine. Further, if someone runs and complains, can’t we tell them to not post referring to another poster?

You have a lot of good insight into various topics.  All I am asking you is to not personally bash people when answering. You can rebut them but stay civilized.  Just like my reply here to you.

You’re either a woman or this generations version of a “man”.

King, you’ve been told before to minimize the name calling and stay on point.  You can have an opposing point of view but it’s not necessary to use the above bash oriented rhetoric.  Not is it necessary to go to the nth degree to make your case.  Sometimes less is better.

  14. Ladies and Gentlemen-

The posts which caused a stir since last night have all been purged.  The poster has asked that his account be removed.

No further posts referencing that poster or this specific rink will be allowed right now.

We're not trying to get rinks closed down or reported so you all need to use restraint in this area.
