  1. Wow, MidAm must be really out of touch! So tryouts can't occur till after Nationals right? Can't remember exactly how many days after!
  2. We will probably see some crazy scores as teams get back into the flow. I bet there were some teams that practiced through the 3 weeks and some that had nothing at all going on. I'm sure it will sort itself out in 2 to 3 weeks. Hopefully we can keep it going and get through this crazy season.
  3. Is your employer someone special who knows the Governor and Health Secretary? We only thought people were mad about these restrictions. It will be a lot worse if it continues!
  4. Why make those types of changes? I really don't like those first 2 rule changes. Can someone explain the logic behind those changes? Certainly does not speed up the game.
  5. So the teams out East have not played any games yet? They are being ranked on prior reputation and players returning?
  6. I heard the Pens are going to have training Camp at PPG Arena.
  7. Agreed, But isn't it interesting that there is just one case with NCAA sports. I find that hard to believe. No question they seem to be heavy handed when it comes to club sports and Greek life. Judging from the fact that Hockey had a previous report it's not I guess it's not surprising what they did compared to the other sanctions of organizations
  8. There has to be a whole lot more to this story than what we have heard so far. If what we have heard is all there is I would believe that every team and every Frat at Slippery Rock will suffer the same fate. For the most part they are telling future Students they are not interested in having a Hockey program. It is time for the new recruits to decide if they want to stay at SRU for the education or go somewhere else and get the same education plus be able to play Hockey. In the long run SRU is not worried about Hockey. To effectively get the death penalty I would have to believe that we should be hearing about some criminal charges associated with this. Unless of course the school doesn't care about Hockey and wants to set an example for the other programs. After all its "Only a Club Sport" in their minds. not for the kids who pay to play and practice.
  9. Ugh just read it on Pittsburgh Hockey Digest. Pending appeal. I'm guessing the facts will come out. I wonder how much control a school has over a club team?
  10. Where did they announce that? Pretty interesting in that they are a Club Sport. While they use the school name they don't get much funding. They haven't even started to play this year as I believe the ACHA isn't playing till the spring.
  11. My hope is that this will be the last shutdown! Hopefully this shutdown will be over by the end of January. The vaccines will start to kick in and we can start getting back to something like we knew before March of 2020, I think numbers are coming down slowly.
  12. I sure hope you are right. I agree that there should be no reason why the season can't be extended into at least May. At that point I think you might have some conflicts with Spring and Summer sports. For some kids of course they pretty much play year round with Spring teams right back into the Fall. Seems like they take a break for the month of July and then are pretty much back in to it. My concern is how long the Rinks that are not open can hold on before they can't pay there bills. Does anyone know if the organizations pay in advance for ice time? I would imagine that ice time is an organizations biggest expense.
  13. Can the independent rinks last another 3 months shutdown? Even with private ice times I'll bet they are taking hugh losses. I hope they all can survive.
  14. I wish it would be that quick. 2nd shoot is in 21 to 28 days. If numbers are down in 2 weeks it will be because people aren't going anywhere and I just don't see that happening. Sure hope I am wrong. Haven't heard any of the so called experts saying when we might get results from the Vaccines.
  15. Time to get back to the topic at hand! Who here really thinks we will get back to play on January 4th? Maybe we should start a Pool and all pick dates as to when we think we might actually get back to Hockey. My pick is February 1st 2021
  16. Sure would be nice if your website was more user friendly and updated more often. I tried to access it the other day to see how things were going and it still had teams with only 2 games played. What is the deadline to try to get into the 2nd half of the season? Thanks Also your website needs to list rosters and stats for the 14U's at least. If you truly want to compete with the PIHL you have to do better than them. Just my 2 cents that is not worth much. Haha
  17. Obviously PPE has the more prestigious name and is backed by the Pens organization. Plus those families drink the kool-aid from the time their kids start skating until they get a dose of reality. Is Esmark more expensive than PPE? Just curious!
  18. So have your kids been infected? I'm guessing they have not been infected so it sounds like you are saying that the people who are getting infected are lax with the safety rules. It's there own fault they are infected. They certainly know the risks. I won't feel bad for them when the hospitals run out of beds. They made their choice. I don't appreciate the government making the choice for me. Then you hear Wolf say he did everything right and still got infected. I have a hard time understanding the big spike. Eventually all the people that are masking and social distancing will be the ones without infection right? All the people who didn't wear masks and social distance will have been infected and maybe that along with the vaccine will be the end of all this madness.
  19. Why do you care? Stay home and stay safe and don't worry about what anyone else is doing.
  20. Indoor gatherings down to 10 and no youth sports. Pretty sure it's all shut down. Hopefully the numbers come down and things can start up again after the 4th. The concern will be how it opens back up. If it is gradual again who knows when we will be able to play 5 on 5 Hockey again.
  21. It's all shutdown till January 4th. He didn't leave much out! It will be interesting to see if all the Rinks obey the shutdown.
  22. Just goes to show you all the masks and social distancing that can be done didn't keep him from getting the virus. I assume he was practicing what he was preaching! Would be interesting to hear his thoughts on how he thinks he got it.
  23. Thanks, I didn't see that one. So why then are the WV and Ohio teams in PAHL not playing?
  24. To me the interesting thing about Youth Hockey is that you can take your kid anywhere in SW pa and sign up for their Organizations Hockey program. Just depends on your willingness to travel. For someone interested in playing at the best organization it can potentially involve a lot of research. Also it seems different organizations have very different philosophies as to how to run their programs. Also some organizations are stronger at certain Birth Years than others. Bottom line is they all seem to have strengths and weaknesses.
  25. Where is that 24 hour thing coming from? First time I have heard of it.
